The Golden State Killer has always been to me the most intriguing serial killer, so I was beyond excited to get this book. Imagine my surprise (and disappointment) when by even half way through it, I could already tell this was going to be less than a 3 star rating. For a crime spree that lasted over a decade and remained unsolved for 40 + years, it's quite maddening that this already smallish sized book would have been almost cut in half had they removed all of the almost word-for-word, repetitive paragraphs. Chapter after chapter just continuously repeated the same facts and statements over and over again as if I didn't just read the same thing 5 pages ago. The fact that Michelle McNamara wrote I'll Be Gone In The Dark before the killer was even identified, and still managed in a much longer book to flesh out informing, interesting and imperative detail all the way through just goes to show even further that little to no effort was put in to the creation of this book.
Truly this really should only be getting a 1 star rating but with EARONS being the most interesting case to me, I begrudgingly chose to rate it one star up higher than it deserved simply due to the minute amount of information I did learn from this read.
Really quite disappointing to have to give such a terrible rating on a book I pre-ordered and excitedly waited months for. I suggest you don't waste your time.
