Ah, the final end to the first series and the first volume I had no idea about since webtoon has no reached this part yet. It was honestly so much fun reading it without knowing, but maybe the fact that it was the last volume with some good heart throbbing scenes helped a bit.
In this final volume, Taeui has managed to get involved in something that keeps him away from Ilay, but not from his own thoughts towards Ilay! Taeui tries to understand and handle his feelings to some extent and even when fate intervenes and once again pushes him further away, he is commited to go to Ilay. In the midst of all that we have cute confessions, more psycho meetings and "what decisions brought me to this place today?"!
Once again, Ilay is an interesting character. He always stays so true to himself with some tiny steps to character development and even though his actions "disappoint", in the end it wouldn't really be him if he wasn't like that. It's a conundrum, cause people are who they are and even if (big if) they can change, it definitely takes time. Again, I appreciate this in this series that this character (that should be avoided like the plague irl) has some weirdly correct development for who he is. If anything, it's Taeui that makes me more disappointed in how immensely quickly he adapts and actually really goes deep into Stockholm syndrome...
Nonetheless, a great way to end the first part of this series with fun side stories!
"even though he didn't wish for it, if he had to die, it would be by Ilay's hand." ⋆꙳•❅*°⋆❆.ೃ࿔*:・*❆ ₊⋆⋆꙳•❅*°⋆❆.ೃ࿔*:・*❆ ₊⋆⋆꙳•❅*°⋆❆.ೃ࿔*:・*❆ ₊⋆
yes we are smoking that Xinlu pack Fk that dork also i can't believe my sweet taeui would offer his eye for Xinlu ... atp we are just leading him on bc taeui knows who he wants (¬_¬")
ilay would go to the depths of hell for taeui & my homeboy taeui def has stockholm syndrome... but nevertheless very cutie ending to passion ♡.(^ 3 ^ )
I’m not usually very fond of a main lead who is presented as a walking black flag, but I cared deeply about the main character, who, unfortunately, seemed to be a strong magnet for morally questionable men. And it was probably my affection for Taeui and his innocent resolve to meet his brother that kept me going, reading. As you go on, you learn that their story doesn’t truly end - we indeed have other volumes after Passion: this is only the stepping stone for their feelings to grow and strengthen. 🤍 Special mention should be given to Taeui's self-awareness about his possible Stockholm Syndrome while reflecting on his feelings towards Ilay. Ilay remains a tricky character for me to understand, but I can’t hide the signs that his soul is changing (thanks God).
So, my final verdict is the following: the storytelling is captivating, the character developments are done right, and for once, the feeling of love grows in time.
Ilay is such a well-written madman that, while reading, I felt intense anger toward him for the horrible things he did to Taeui. At the same time, Taeui remained deeply moving, as he still managed to love Ilay with his whole being despite everything he endured (but in real life, no one should stay in abusive and toxic relationship.)
i thought all the non con stuff would've ended after vol 5. i read the manhwa till vol 5. wanted to know if the dude Will redeem himself. he didnt. i liked the world building in this series. it was a unique concept. also the whole lucky charm thing. sucks that theres too much rape that too by the main lead. wont be reading further
