Mafia Lords of Sin #6

Heredero Oculto

Rate this book
Se supone que debo vender flores, no mi cuerpo.
Pero cuando la mafia irlandesa derriba mi puerta a medianoche,
descubro que la adicción de mi hermano tiene un 750.000 dólares.

Paga o verás morir a tu hija.
Solo hay un hombre que puede salvarnos.
El mismo hombre que me tomó sin protección y me dejó sin aliento hace cuatro años.
El mismo hombre cuya hija he estado ocultando. Leontiy Koval.
El jefe de la Bratva más temido de Nueva York.
Despiadado. Dominante. Dieciocho años mayor que yo.

Todavía recuerdo cómo se sentían sus manos en mi cuerpo.
Cómo me ordenaba someterme.

Good Mafia romance, with a lot of twist and turns.
Brook just wants a quiet life bringing up her daughter.
But her hateful selfish brother, brings her nothing but trouble. (Irish Mafia )
Now she needs the help of her daughter’s father. ( Russian Mafia) Who has no idea that he has a daughter. Her appearance brings him nothing but trouble. But he is happy to have her and her daughter with him and will do anything to help her.
To many sex scene, which were not really needed. Spoiled the flow of the story for me.
The trafficking was upsetting, but was redeemed at the end.

He does human trafficking and doesn’t care. He is furious that she found out

“My hands curl into fists as rage at my father blooms in my chest. If he’d just kept this to himself, or let me tell Brooke in my own time..”

He tries to justify that

“Brooke.” I close the gap between us and grab her shoulders. “Those people aren’t real, okay? You don’t know them. They shouldn’t matter to you because they are nothing. They are simply product, understand? They are numbers on a piece of paper that you send where they need to go for payment. That’s all it is, just business!”

He tries to compare that with selling flowers🙃

“It’s not my responsibility to think beyond that,” I reply tightly. “Do you think about the flowers you sell? Or do you forget about them after they’ve served their purpose?”

Of course then she makes him choose and he stop trafficking like this is some kind of fairytale

“Every soul currently in our possession will be given brand new lives, or returned to their old ones if they so choose. And we’re going to take care of them. We have names, travel routes, and destinations of everyone who has ever passed through those warehouses. I want to find them,”

“Each person we help must agree to sign an NDA—in exchange for our assistance they must agree not to press any charges against me or the Koval family.” 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Brooke's brother sells her out after running up debts he could not afford. Her business has been destroyed and that leave only one person she can turn to for help. The one person she never wanted to contact ever- Leonity Koval. What will Leon do or ask for in return for his help, which won't come cheap?
A good Mafia read.

HIDDEN HEIR

Her brother gets involved with the mafia, steals from them. They go after his sibling for payment, they don't care about how they will go about getting what they want back. Torture, pure horrible means of awful things. Drama, death, and drugs.

"Hidden Heir" throws you into the chaotic life of Brooke, a flower shop owner struggling to make ends meet while raising her daughter, Tiffany. When her drug-addicted brother racks up a massive debt with the Irish mafia, Brooke and Tiffany become the targets. Desperate to save her daughter, Brooke has no choice but to turn to the one man she swore she'd never contact again: Leontiy Koval, the ruthless and commanding Bratva boss from New York with whom she shared a scorching encounter four years prior. What Leon doesn't know is that Tiffany is his daughter. Their reunion is far from a sweet reconciliation, as Brooke is thrust back into Leon's dangerous world, where she discovers the horrifying truth about his family's business – they trade in human flesh. When Brooke's brother's betrayal puts them all in even greater danger, chained and broken, the only way to survive might be the secret Brooke has been desperately guarding.

From the very first page, "Hidden Heir" grips you with its high stakes and palpable tension. Ajme Williams has crafted a dark and gritty world where danger lurks around every corner. Brooke is a strong and resilient heroine, fiercely protective of her daughter, and her desperation to save Tiffany is what drives the initial conflict. Leon is the quintessential alpha male, ruthless and commanding, but with a possessive streak that ignites when he learns about his daughter. The chemistry between Brooke and Leon is undeniable, even amidst the violence and danger that surrounds them. The age gap and secret baby tropes are woven seamlessly into the mafia storyline, adding layers of complexity and emotional depth.

What makes this book stand out is its unflinching portrayal of the dark side of the mafia world, including the disturbing reality of human trafficking. This isn't a light and fluffy romance; it delves into heavy themes and contains mature content, including violence, torture, and explicit scenes. However, amidst the darkness, there's also a compelling love story that unfolds as Brooke and Leon navigate their complicated past and fight for their future and their daughter's safety. The plot is filled with thrilling twists and turns, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

While the intensity and dark themes might not appeal to all readers, those who enjoy dark mafia romances with strong characters and high stakes will likely find "Hidden Heir" captivating. Some reviewers mentioned that the spicy scenes felt a bit lengthy, but overall, the story's gripping plot and the development of the relationship between Brooke and Leon, along with the introduction of their daughter, make for an enthralling read.

If you enjoy dark mafia romances with age gap and secret baby tropes, and you're not afraid of mature themes including violence and human trafficking, then "Hidden Heir" is a book you should definitely consider. Be prepared for a suspenseful and steamy ride with strong characters and a plot that will keep you hooked.

"Hidden Heir" is a dark, intense, and gripping mafia romance that earns a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Ajme Williams delivers a thrilling story filled with danger, secrets, and a passionate connection between two complex characters fighting for their family in a brutal world.

My Rating System:

2⭐️: The book didn’t quite resonate with me, and while my experience wasn’t remarkable, I did finish it. It had some redeeming qualities and potential but fell short in execution. Recommendable, though with some reservations.
3⭐️: Good read, but didn’t quite stand out. Still worth recommending to others.
4⭐️: Really enjoyed it and stayed engaged throughout. Would read book again. Definitely recommendable.
5⭐️: Incredible writing that made me deeply connect with the characters. I was completely absorbed in the world and didn’t want it to end. This book stayed with me even when I wasn’t reading it. I'd gladly reread it and highly recommend it to everyone!.

I'm supposed to be selling flowers, not my body.
But when the Irish mafia kicks down my door at midnight,
I learn my brother's addiction has a price tag: $750,000.

Pay up or watch my daughter die.

There's only one man who can save us.
The same man who took me raw and left me breathless four years ago.
The same man whose daughter I've been hiding. Leontiy Koval.
The most feared Bratva boss in New York.
Ruthless. Commanding. Eighteen years my senior.

I still remember how his hands felt on my body.
How he commanded me to submit.
How I begged for more.

But what I didn't know then was that those same hands torture people for a living.

Now my flower shop is ashes.
My babysitter's throat has been slit.
And Leon's dark eyes still make me wet, even as they promise violence to anyone who threatens what's his.

He offers me a deal: be his forever, and he'll make my problems disappear.
What he doesn't know is that our daughter has his eyes.
What I don't know is that his family business trades in human flesh.

When my brother sells us out to save his own skin,
We end up chained in a basement, bleeding and broken.
And I realize too late—the only chance we have to survive Is the truth I've been desperate to hide.

"She's yours, Leon. Our daughter is yours."

Now he's ready to paint New York red with Irish blood.
And God help me, there's nothing more intoxicating than watching a dangerous man kill for his family.
For us.

This contemporary dark mafia Irish Bratva enemies-to-lovers romance is page-turning with exceptional world building in New York that is engulfed by darkness, danger, violence, and grit, and characters that are alpha, protector, exuding power, ruthless most feared Bratva boss in New York, violence, dangerous, obsessive, possessive, captivating, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with the hidden heir, an age gap romance, a secret baby, drama, deception, suspense that will have readers on the edge of their seats, secrets, heartfelt emotions, flower shop is in ashes, babysitter's throat has been slit, offered a deal--be his forever, and he'll make my problems disappear, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with the hidden heir and a dark Bratva mafia romance that is explicit in every sense that is sure to transport readers into a world that is wildly dark, dangerous, and unforgettable.

Hidden Heir: Mafia Lords of Sin is a wild, pulse-pounding ride through darkness, danger, and undeniable passion. AJME Williams has created a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, blending heart-stopping suspense with a deeply emotional love story that you can’t help but get completely immersed in.

I was hooked right from the start. The heroine, a woman caught in the vicious grip of her brother’s addiction, is forced to make an impossible choice. When the Irish mafia kicks down her door and demands an eye-watering ransom to save her daughter, she turns to Leontiy Koval, the one man who can save them. But he’s not just any man—he’s a ruthless Bratva boss with a dark, violent past. And the last time they met, their connection was electric, consuming, and left her breathless.

What I love about this story is how the relationship between Leon and our heroine evolves from their painful, fiery past into something even more dangerous and raw. Their chemistry is undeniable, and when he makes her an offer she can’t refuse—to be his forever in exchange for her daughter’s safety—well, I didn’t think I could take the intensity. Leontiy is commanding, unyielding, and just as dangerously magnetic as you’d expect from a mafia boss. And the secrets that start to unravel? They will wreck you.

The twist with their daughter? Heartbreaking. Watching the characters face the truth of their hidden heir and the lies that have built their lives to this point had me bawling. The stakes are high, and the tension never lets up. Leon becomes a man driven not just by power, but by an overwhelming need to protect the woman he loves—and the child he didn’t even know he had. The journey from his blood-soaked vengeance to claiming his family as his own is both brutal and beautiful.

This story is dark, steamy, and absolutely unputdownable. The heat between the characters is scorching, but it’s the emotional depth and the way these two broken souls find each other that really packs the punch. If you're looking for a mafia romance with danger, twists, and the ultimate redemption of a ruthless man, this book is a must-read.

Warning: It will make you crave your own dangerous man. 💔🔥.

⭐️⭐️½ – No hate, just honest thoughts

Let me start by saying there’s no hate to the author or anyone who genuinely enjoyed Hidden Heir. I get the appeal, and honestly, it started off so strong—I was hooked. The setup had promise, and I thought I was in for an emotional, twisty ride. But somewhere along the way, things just started falling apart for me.

The pacing? Wildly fast. I don't mind a quick-paced story (hellllooo I adore novellas and read far too many), and I love a good slow burn book as well, but this didn’t feel like either—it just felt rushed. Scenes flew by, characters made major decisions in a blink, and I constantly found myself wondering… wait, where even is her daughter right now? Half the time it felt like she disappeared from the plot entirely.

And her brother? Don’t even get me started. The moment he said, “It’s fine, it’s just sex,” to his sister when someone was literally trying to sell her, I was ready to throw him into the nearest volcano. If my own brother did that, he’d be cut off in 2.1 seconds, no hesitation.

Then there's Leon. How did he not even consider that Tiffany might be his daughter? There was no moment of doubt, no suspicion, not even a flicker of "hmm, maybe?" And when he does finally find out—what, a few chapters before the end?—he’s just… chill about it? No angst, no betrayal, no tension? Really?

Also, I can’t wrap my head around how you’re supposedly obsessed with a girl from four years ago, and you’re this big mafia guy… yet somehow can’t track her down? She’s running a flower shop and is all over social media. If he really wanted to find her, I have a hard time believing he couldn’t.

The dialogue, unfortunately, didn’t help either. It often felt like something pulled straight from Wattpad, and not in a nostalgic, charming way—more like it needed another couple of drafts. Or someone just throwing down sentences.

That said, it wasn’t awful. There were moments of potential, and I didn’t hate my time with it. But overall, it just didn’t hit the mark for me. Not terrible, not great—just solidly meh.

The Hidden Heir is the 6th story in the Mafia Lords of Sin Series. Please be warned this story is a dark mafia story that has human trafficking, violence, drugs with secrets, lies and romance. Years ago Brooke meets a handsome stranger, Leon spending an incredible night with him never sharing and details. When Brooke learns who Leon really is - part of the Mafia she leaves that night in the past. After discovering her pregnancy she raises her precious little girl on her own with a selfish drug addiction brother. Extremely bad decisions made by her brother, Brooke finds herself being forced to have sex with a crazed man barely escaping, running away to the only person she know who can give her safety, Leon. These two seem to pick up right where they left off 4 years ago, discovering what they mean to each other and enjoying spending time together for it all to fall apart when Brooke discovers the darkness Leon and his family business is. When her brother’s continued bad choices continue Brooke is put into an extremely dangerous and harmful situation along with Leon. These two have a fight for their lives with being tortured with no light at the end. Getting the light back is hard and with the fight finally having family and love! Family isn’t Always about Blood Relations -
Even though Brooke was apprehensive about asking Leon for help, she was really desperate and there was no other choice, but on the other hand she wad scared he would discover the secret she had been keeping from him. The last person Leon expected to see again was Brooke, but he offered her shelter and protection. Unfortunately, what neither one of them realised at the time was that their destiny was intertwined and they would go through a dangerous situation together.

Being held in close proximity together brought Brooke and Leon closer and changed the way they had been living their lives, but more importantly, it gave her the courage to finally reveal her secret, so they could acknowledge their feelings for each other and have a chance at a future together. I really enjoyed reading this intriguing story about trust, love, secrets, betrayals, family drama, self sacrifice and rekindling a relationship. I couldn’t stop reading once I started and it was definitely worth the time it took me to finish reading it. I have read each book in the Mafia Lords of Sin series and each one always leaves me looking forward to reading the next book.

Hidden Heir is a dark mafia romance by Ajme Williams, and is part of the Mafia Lords of Sin.

This book comes with a massive content warning, which makes sense if you're looking for a gritty mafia story, but this a violent mafia that deals with human trafficking. It may be a bit on the nose to people, along with talk of drugs and guns, but as I said, makes it feel more legit.

This story starts with danger when Brooke, a single mother and a florist, is threatened by the mafia thugs who are after her drug addicted brother. Her one night stand may have given her a daughter, but it also gives her an opportunity to try and save her brother, as well as saving herself and her daughter from being dragged into the mess.

As I said, this is a dark romance. I can't emphasise that enough. There is also a lot of drama. That means as Brooke gets to know more of Leon's world, she is frightened by what she sees. However, meeting Brooke again and meeting his daughter, has Leon thinking about things that he hadn't given thought to since he was a child. Despite being a ruthless mafia boss, he has a really pleasing development as we make our way through everything.

Brooke&Leon. Less complicated than the previous book. simpler.

“Since you arrived, I’ve been doing some digging into your life. You turned up here in the middle of the night with a drugged-up brother and a child, asking for my help. I could have turned you out onto the street but I didn’t because of that night we had together four years ago. You left an impression, and I haven’t been able to get you out of my mind ever since. The story you told me when you first arrived was believable at the time, but I run in dangerous circles and I had to be sure. So I cloned your phone, as you already know. I researched your apartment and your place of work, looking for the truth. But then you get that picture of Hannah and your story changes. You have to understand why I’m wary. I want the truth, Brooke, and I’m not going to ask you again.”

Her junkie brother got involved in Irish mafia and now targeting them. She asks Leo (Russian mafia) for help. He didn’t know Tiff is his daughter.

The romance starts instantly. They have a fight when she found out Leon is human trafficker. She runaway and got caught by Irish mafia, Leon was caught too.

Then they solves their problem, him knowing Tiff is his, and got saved.

This book was absolutely incredible!!!!! Every book by Ajme I feel like is my favorite but then I read another and I think…No wait…THIS one is def my favorite…well this one???? 😳🥰🤗🥹 so so sooooo good!!!!
It’s got it all, a beautiful story, a ton of intrigue and suspense, a moderate amount of really hot smexy times, really heartfelt moments and some chilling ones too, some where you wanna reach in and throat punch someone and lots of others where your heart is melting….

Of course wonderfully written and edited

I’m not sure I can summarize any better than the author/publishers blurb without giving things away…my best would be…you’ve got a young single mom who’s keeping her child a secret from the baby’s dad because his life and family are too dangerous…But all that changes when her drug addict brother brings even more dangerous people into their lives and she needs an even worse baddy to scare away the baddy’s…then just hang on for the ride…And you might wanna buckle your seat belt too😉🥰😍🔥🌶️😬😳.

Hidden Heir is a fabulous mafia romance, which I found to be captivating from beginning to end, entertaining and an absolute pleasure to read. While reading Hidden Heir, I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen between the main characters. The main characters of this story are Brooke and Leon, whom I absolutely enjoyed getting to know as the main characters. I also loved seeing the feelings they have for each other grow stronger to the point where they end up having a happy ending to their story. Hidden Heir is amazingly written, well balanced and beautifully executed by Ajme Williams. Ajme Williams continues to take me by surprise with each amazing romance novel I have read by her thus far. In my honest opinion, Ajme Williams puts her all into the novels she creates and writes for her audience’s enjoyment. She is becoming one of my many favorite authors whom I always look forward to reading their novels. Hidden Heir is certainly a recommended book for anyone to checkout and give it a read.

Hidden Heir follows Brooke Harris single mother and flower shop owner and Leontiy (Leon) Koval. The most feared Bratva boss in New York.
Their story begins in a club where they are instantly attracted to each other which leads to heated sexual encounter. Only later to discover exactly who he was so when she realizes she's pregnant she knows he must never find out.
Now 4 years later she's pulled into a dangerous situation by the actions of her selfish, ungrateful drug addicted brother. She so realizes the only person who can help is none other than Leon but at what cost?
This book is so well written so full of emotions, trials and tribulations that it will take you on a journey that's dangerous, suspenseful, brutal and dark. There are secrets, lies, twist, turns, heartbreaking betrayals, manipulation, murder, unimaginable torture, chaos and yes steamy sex to keep you turning the page.
I will say this story is very graphic when it comes to the brutality so beware if you are squeamish.

It was a very suspenseful and intriguing story causing me to not put it down at all. Lots of steamy hot scenes, since they are each other's weakness when they come together after 4 years apart when Brooke is running for her life with her 3-year-old daughter and her messed up brother. She knew Loen was a dangerous man but she's also running for dangerous men from a different crime family all due to her brother, and Leon was her last option when hiding the fact of their daughter by starting out lying to her savior. But will the new Pakhan read between the lines or will he push for the truth????

Leonity 'Leon' Koval, Russian, 38, Pakhan (Sort of, his father Kreik Koval can't stop being the 'boss')
Brooke Harris, late twenties, florist, mother of Tiff. Brooke's brother is Ant, drug addict and tied in with the Irish.

Triggers are human trafficking, drugs complete with needles hanging from veins and sniffing, torture with gore and murder.

Just WOW

This book had everything. The h and H meets at a club 4 years ago and had hooked up, she later discovers his family are criminals and 6 weeks later she finds out she is pregnant. She goes on with her life and never tells him about their daughter until she gets into trouble with the Irish mafia. Her brother stole some drugs and brings the mob to her door. Her brother is a drug addict who’s only out for himself. She goes to the H for help when the mob tries to make her become a sex worker. Then she discovers that the H is a human trafficker. There’s so much going on from attempted murder, kidnappings, torture and murder, I couldn’t put it down. I was so glad that the H got out of the trafficking ring. There were times I wanted to hit the h because she couldn’t see that her brother was never going to change and only cared about himself. They went through so much before they found their HEA. Brooke is busy with her flower shop and her young daughter. It would be easier if her brother wasn't a drug addict who keeps needing her help, but then he complicates her life even more. He tells her that he owes a part of the Irish gang $750,000 after he stole a load of drugs. He can't pay so he suggests that Brooke does. She reluctantly agrees but escapes from a man who was going to cut her to shreds.

On the run, the only possible safe place she knew of was with Leontiy Koval, the New York Bratva boss. Brooke had spent a hot evening with him years ago, but once she discovered he was Bratva she had no further contact with him. But can she continue to stay with him once she finds out the source of his family's money?

This is a great read but it does contain possible triggers.

I loved it. The characters had chemistry. It grabs your attention. The hero is a villain. So, do not think you may love him. He does come from a mafia family. So, it says that he has does things that will make you question yourself.

But.... he liked her. He loved her. He wants her. And he liked her daughter long before he knew she was his. He is a not a hero but he loves kids. The story line, I am not sure how to explain without giving anything away.

There are some stories or storylines where you go up and down again and again. This does not happen.

This is not the first book in the series. I have not read any of the previous books and I can say you do not need to, it can be read as a stand alone. That being said, you can see some of the previous characters and appearing in this book.

Brooke shared a passionate encounter with Leon four years ago, but when she found out he was the most feared Bratva boss in New York, she left him. Their time together resulted in a pregnancy, which she kept from him. Now, four years later, she is forced to go to him for help because of the actions of her drug addict brother.

Leon is the only person who can help her, but at what cost?

This story takes the reader on a suspenseful rollercoaster ride full of secrets, lies, heartbreaking betrayals, murder, torture, manipulation, chaos, and so many unexpected twists and turns. Add to that the steamy sex, and you won't want to stop turning the pages.

Please be aware of the trigger warnings.

Brooke has enough on her plate with her flower shop and her daughter, Tiffany. Throw her brother into the mix and things are stretched thin. He has got himself in trouble and he does not have the decency to tell her the truth. He owes a lot of money for the drugs he took. The ones he owes the money wants her to play with her body. When it becomes too much she escapes and goes to the one man who can help, Tiffany's father, Pakhan.

Leon has never forgot Brooke, she was meant to be his until she disappeared from his life. Now her brother has got her in trouble and he will do anything to to protect her and her daughter.

To be honest I started this series at book #5 thinking it was #1, so I decided to read #6 before circling back to the first. Although I enjoyed book number 5 this one was slightly better in my opinion. I think this one was very much insta attraction that morphed into something more.

Brooke’s (24) loyalty for her brother was both noble but heartbreaking at the same time. It really was a testament to the length we would go for the people we love or just feel obligated to. I we could’ve see Brooke in my scenes with her flower shop. Leon (38) to me wasn’t your typical alpha male, to me he was more soft, but still very much the type to do anything for those he cares for. I wish we got to see more scenes between him and Tiff.

Darker than the others

Content warning: this novel has scenes of human trafficking, torture, and drug abuse.

This novel was a fairly dark one in this series and also contained more technical errors (especially, the absence of quotation marks).

I also didn't totally engage with the main female character, "Brooke." Her loyalty to her drug addict brother, "Ant," wasn't very believable, considering the things he did to her.

The narrative also felt a little disjointed, with the characters doing/knowing things that weren't explained until much later. I wish the author had offered explanations FIRST, then proceeded to show us what the characters were doing.

Just my opinion here, but I definitely didn't enjoy this one as much as the others in this series.

I hated Paul Conti and what he did to Leon and Brooke, but I am glad Brooke got to killed him with Leon's help.
I didn't like her brother Ant because of what he did to her and how he was with his drug addiction and Brooke didn't want that around her daughter and her too. And also her brother stole from the Irish Mafia and when Ant wasn't around they came after her and threated her and her daughter. But one good thing he did is drop Tiffany with Selina while they were being hurt by Paul.
I loved Selina in this book and how she helped Brooke and her daughter Tiffany too.
And I also liked Rik who worked for Leon and how he was with Tiffany too and loved him doing tea parties with her was sweet and cute.
At first I didn't like Leon's father but closer to the end of the book I liked him.
I loved the romance between Leon and Brooke and also loved how were good parents to their daughter Tiffany. I also loved that Leon Protected both Brooke and Tiffany.
I didn't like what Leon and his father were doing with human trafficking but I am glad he changed for his daughter and Brooke and helped her with the people that were being trafficked and Leon's father helped too. I like how strong and brave Brooke was and she would do anything for her daughter. And I am glad they got an happy ending.
I have been loving Mafia Romances and I can't wait to read more.
I enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read the other books in this series.

This book was a page turner and kept me gripped from start to finish.
I love a mafia romance but tend to find most authors make the MMC really soft and gentle within 5 mins of meeting the FMC. This MMC was not that at all! The book was gritty, hard hitting and romantic while keeping the hard, violent mafia world alive.
Without spoiling anything, the ending felt a little rushed. I would have liked to see the cruel father of the MMC pushing back on the changes a little more since he spent years being notoriously harsh.
Overall, a great book and it made me want to read more by this author.
