Kyler Holland spent years learning how to hate Logan Crawford.
He was her brother’s best friend, her first love, the guy she thought would always be there—until he wasn’t. When her brother died, Logan walked away without a second glance, leaving Kyler and her family to drown in their grief alone. She swore she’d never forgive him. Never speak to him again.
Then life threw her right back into his path.
As the new physical therapist for the Seattle Cyclones—her father’s team and Logan’s—Kyler has no choice but to face the man who shattered her. He’s not just a ghost from her past; he’s everywhere. In the locker room, on the ice, in her space with that same devastating grin and the audacity to act like nothing happened.
But Kyler isn’t a heartbroken teenager anymore, and she has no intention of making this easy for him. Logan may be the golden boy of the NHL, but she’s not impressed. Not by his charm, not by his apologies, and definitely not by the way he still looks at her like she’s the only thing that’s ever mattered.
The problem? Hate is a thin line, and they’re skating too close to the edge.
Sierra Yoho is a new-to-me author, and Cold Comeback was my first dive into her world—wow. Kyler and Logan’s story pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let go. I can already tell you: I cannot wait to read the rest of her books.
This story is the perfect mix of a fast-paced slow burn (yes, that exists and I love it), with just the right amount of drama, emotional depth, and a strong female main character who’s been through heartbreak and keeps going. There’s pain, there’s healing, and there’s that feeling of rooting so hard for someone to find their peace and happiness.
I try to keep my reviews spoiler-free, and honestly, this is one of those books where it’s best to just go in blind. I picked it up on a whim—and I’m so glad I did. It made me smile, it made me giggle, it tugged on all my heartstrings, and overall, it was just a really, really good read. I think anyone who loves emotional, character-driven romance will absolutely enjoy this series.
I was emotional throughout the whole book. Thankfully I managed to not go all tears and runny nose 😂 but my eyes got glasses throughout the book and maybe a tear fell here and there
This book broke my heart. I felt so bad for Kyler and Logan and what they all went through. I definitely think Kyler’s anger was justifiable after Logan left. Then she found out the truth of why he left. Was it right? No Was he a stupid teenage boy who thought he was protecting her? Absolutely
But after years of silence and he shows back up to play for her dad’s team, things got tense and heated. And not in the good way.. yet
This was definitely a slow-burn and healing journey for them both 🖤
I couldn’t wait for this release and it did not disappoint! There was so much emotion wrote in this book I loved every second of it. I laughed, cried, swooned and felt like I was living right in the story.
Logan and Kyler had a tragedy happen so quickly in their lives and had to deal with it, without each other. They were hurt for their own reasons, taking blame for things the other didn’t know about and wishing it could have all be done differently.
Coming back into each other’s life made old feelings arise and new ones form. They had some many regrets and pain to work through, that it made you connect to Logan and Kyler in some way.
This honestly was such a fun, and beautiful read. I can’t wait to see what Sierra writes next!
Sierra Yoho is a new to me Author who's book I read after I was lucky enough to discover her on tiktok. I do not usually read sports romance, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect when going into this book, but boy, was I impressed! This may have been my first book by Sierra, but it most definitely won't be my last!
I loved every second of this book, I was sucked in from the very first page. The pacing of the book was great, and the only slow part of this book was the burn (yes please!) I cried, I laughed, and I cried some more. I giggled and swooned and absolutely fell in love with the MMC. Seriously, where are the men that say the things Logan does? Sign me up for mine please!
This book has brothers' best friend AND second chance romance, which are 2 of my favorite 6 Sierra certainly didn't disappoint. This book was such a good time and has been 1 of my favorite reads of this year. I can't wait to read more about Kyler and Logan in the sequel and see where she takes us with the rest of the series!
3.5 stars I dont know how to explain. It was so emotional and I loved the HEA and the tributes but with that said it was a little too fast burnt for my liking. I mean for such a big topic I feel like you need at least 300 pages. I feel like Kyler was a big harsh like i understand why but it crossed the line a little bit at some point. I loved how it was a “long epilogue” like we saw much of their future. So yeah really cute but also to fast there were missing some details.
I found this on Tik tok. And I was like okay another hockey romance yay! But I was not prepared for this book. The heartache the MMC and the FMC went through was so emotional and just heart breaking. I’ve never devoured a book faster than I did with this one.
I wasn’t read to fall in love with the entire Cyclone team and characters. Sierra you did amazing!!!
This was a cute hockey romance. It had me smiling by the end! I just couldn't connect with the characters. once the MMC did what he did in the very beginning I was turned off by his character. I feel like it could have been addressed differently.
