What happens when your walk home takes a turn for the worst?

Dex sees the young woman being dragged from the ground and flung through the air, and he gets the first real look at the girl that will change his life. He can’t walk away and leave her, not if he wants to live, anyway.

A short introduction into Ruby & Dex's story.
In this short teaser we see Dex waiting for his money from two guys in an alley, things get a little heated. He couldn't leave the woman who was hiding behind a bin, at night in a dark alley.
Ruby was in the wrong place at the wrong time, she saw and heard things she shouldn't have heard or seen.
Can Dex save her?
This short teaser has made me want to read more about these two characters! Can't wait to read more!

May 13, 2025With this being a 20 page novella, it’s hard to give a rating. What I can tell you though is that this was a great introduction to Ruby and Dex. There was enough information I didn’t feel completely lost, but enough mystery where I am intrigued to know more about them.

What a story!! Even though it’s a short snippet it was an excellent teaser at what’s to come!! I read this in one sitting because I just had to know what came next!!
The story hooked me from page one and even though it wasn’t very long I was really able to visualise the characters and the world we are placed in.
Can’t wait to read more from this author!
