What happens when your walk home takes a turn for the worst?
When Ruby’s solitary journey is interrupted, she should just walk away, but she’s never been one to do what she’s told. So, in the dark, she watches and waits, but will she find that this was a mistake?
Dex sees the young woman being dragged from the ground and flung through the air, and he gets the first real look at the girl that will change his life. He can’t walk away and leave her, not if he wants to live, anyway.
Two paths converge, and both lives will be irrevocably changed by this moment, but will it be for better, or worse?
An avid reader from childhood she went from a reader to a reviewer and then from a reviewer to a blogger. The exciting world of Romance books opened her eyes to book boxes and all the amazing goodies that come with them and her search for a UK one led to the creation of Romance Readers Book Box UK.
Celebrating the first year of RRBB brought her to collating an anthology and beginning to create her own stories and world. Her first novella released in Dec 2020 and is hopefully the first of many to come.
In this short teaser we see Dex waiting for his money from two guys in an alley, things get a little heated. He couldn't leave the woman who was hiding behind a bin, at night in a dark alley.
Ruby was in the wrong place at the wrong time, she saw and heard things she shouldn't have heard or seen. Can Dex save her?
This short teaser has made me want to read more about these two characters! Can't wait to read more!
With this being a 20 page novella, it’s hard to give a rating. What I can tell you though is that this was a great introduction to Ruby and Dex. There was enough information I didn’t feel completely lost, but enough mystery where I am intrigued to know more about them.
What a story!! Even though it’s a short snippet it was an excellent teaser at what’s to come!! I read this in one sitting because I just had to know what came next!!
The story hooked me from page one and even though it wasn’t very long I was really able to visualise the characters and the world we are placed in.
