RECOVERING LOST GOSPELS

The Gospel of Mary may have been written as early as 80 CE, or as late as 180 CE, but no matter where you place it in the timeline of early Christian texts, it still remains one of the more controversial writings ever studied.

The Gospel of Truth was most likely written between 140 and 180 CE and, until its discovery at Nag Hammadi, Egypt in 1945, was one of several Gospel texts suppressed by the proto-Orthodox Church for suggesting that everyone was already One with the Divine.

In this book, author Keith Giles offers a look at both texts through the lens of shared Divinity. His thesis is that both of these lost Gospels provide a window into the revolutionary teachings of Jesus that point to a Quantum spiritual reality that we are all connected to God and to one another.

Book Review: The Quantum Gospel of Mary and The Lost Gospel of Truth by Keith Giles

Keith Giles is a former pastor, best-selling author, and podcast host who explores faith deconstruction, divine mystery, and quantum spirituality in books like The Quantum Sayings of Jesus and The Quantum Gospel of Mary and The Lost Gospel of Truth. Much like a skilled lapidary, Keith Giles takes what was once discarded and reveals its hidden brilliance. In The Quantum Gospel of Mary and The Lost Gospel of Truth, Giles carefully examines texts that were left outside the traditional biblical canon—much like the fragments left behind when shaping a gemstone. Rather than treating these writings as theological waste, he repurposes them, polishing their meaning and placing them in a new light for modern readers.

Giles has already demonstrated his ability to refine and illuminate forgotten wisdom in The Quantum Sayings of Jesus: Decoding the Lost Gospel of Thomas, and here, he applies the same expertise to the Gospel of Mary and the Gospel of Truth. His deep knowledge of Christian theology, combined with his experience as an established author, allows him to craft a book that is both accessible and profound. He does not simply present historical texts; he cuts away misconceptions, polishes their insights, and sets them within a broader spiritual framework, making them shine with renewed clarity.

What makes this book particularly unique is that it offers both an insightful commentary and a faithful reconstruction of these ancient writings. Giles doesn’t just analyze the lost texts—he presents them in their entirety as we know them today, ensuring readers can experience them firsthand. In essence, it’s two books in one: a richly layered analysis alongside the preserved fragments of the Gospel of Mary and the Gospel of Truth, allowing them to shine side by side in renewed clarity. This dual approach gives readers not only Giles’ refined interpretations but also access to the raw, uncut gemstone of the original texts themselves.

Keith Giles is more than a theologian—he is a Lapidary Theologian, carefully selecting and refining the remnants of theological history that others have cast aside. He approaches these lost texts not as a mere scholar, but as a Geological Artisan, one who understands that even discarded fragments hold beauty and significance when placed in the right hands.

This book raises deep questions about the nature of theological tradition and the shaping of doctrine:

- Were these texts cut away to refine and clarify doctrine, much like shaping a gemstone?
- Or were they discarded because they didn’t fit the theological vision of those in power?
- Could the fragments left behind still hold beauty, wisdom, or truth, just as lapidary waste can be repurposed into art?

Reading The Quantum Gospel of Mary and The Lost Gospel of Truth invites us to reconsider what has been left behind, asking whether these offcuts of theological history still hold wisdom, beauty, and truth. For anyone interested in Christian theology, lost texts, and the evolving understanding of faith, this book is a must-read. Giles reminds us that sometimes, the fragments left behind are not waste at all—they are simply waiting for the right hands to reveal their brilliance.
