DNF for the time being. It can't hold my attention because nothing's happening and I don't care for the FMC. Both have trauma, but it's too drawn out to get to the point. Bummer

New Author

This was a new author for me, and while the story had potential, it fell flat for me. Too drawn out,and while I got to 66%, nothing had really happened in the story. Glad it was KU and I didn’t pay money for it.

Vanessa has been in hiding for years trying to escape her past. She is looking for peace…and has really been struggling. She’s moved to a small town and works at a cafe…and then she wakes up one night to Chaos, the MC’s president inside her house.

She should be terrified…but she’s not. Chaos is completely obsessed with her on a deeper level. He wants to understand how her mind works and what demons she’s running from. Ok yes, he does resort to st@lking and hanging out with her cat. But is Chaos willing to truly go all in with her?

Vanessa and Chaos have this unexplained connection - you can feel their chemistry. On the surface these two shouldn’t have anything in common…but both of them are trying to deal with trauma from their pasts.

Vanessa is strong and witty and I love the scenes where she takes charge in the bedroom. I also like her female friendships and her anxiety disorder felt very real and authentic.

There are some interesting characters in the MC, and I do like how they go all in to support Vanessa and Chaos - there is one particularly satisfying scene towards the end.

I am really interested to see where this series goes!

31/2 stars.

I'm really disappointed that I didn't love this one. I really wanted to.
PoC isn’t an MC Romance that I'm use to.
There minimal MC scenes not much of the comrade/Brotherhood, at times they were even questioning their President of like non existing issues.
But PoC was darkish and angsty, but the few fade to black scenes.......yeah just not my thing. All that being said, it was a fantastic story.
Nessa has a pretty dark past, and survived some pretty messed up stuff.
Chaos, the King of Anarchys President who has some issues of his own, but together it's like they quiet each other's storms.
Like I said, it was a fantastic story, of strength, perseverance and love.

It hooked me enough to want to continue with this series and left intrigued about what's to come.

In this first Kings of Anarchy MC book, we meet Chaos, the president of the club, and his fellow brothers as they decide to make a change and shift from close to town to a more rural location. It’s this decision that starts an even bigger change for Chaos.

Vanessa is a woman who continually tries to put her traumatic past behind her but something always pops up to make it difficult. She has been running from her past for years and is prepared to continue to do so. That is until Chaos sees her and she piques his interest. He becomes quite obsessed with her but is she too damaged? My heart was broken for Vanessa but I admired the strength she drew on to get through every panic attack, nightmare, and reminder of her past.

In this compelling story, we learn about so many things, especially how mental health can affect so much and determine if we have the ability to keep our heads above water or not. Through Vanessa’s character we get to explore valuable coping strategies but also how it feels when using them… the insight is amazing and the manner in which it was woven into the story is brilliant.

The Kings of Anarchy MC themselves have quite a few problems arise and interesting ones at that. This is the only area of the book I felt could have been explored a little more as once the problems were revealed not a lot more happened. I’m wondering if this will be expanded on in future books. 🧐 Don’t get me wrong we do get answers but it seemed a little rushed is all.

I loved the major twist where ‘boom’ you know straight away things are going to get extremely interesting, and yes, very entertaining. When you get to this scene you’ll know, and like me, devour the words as quickly as possible, it is that good.

I am now eager to read the next book about Jinx, the vice president of the club. He has his hands full by the sounds of things but more so because I am annoyed with him. 🤣 And… that sums up why this book is so good, you truly do become immersed in the world of the Kings of Anarchy MC.

ironically this is the best of the series so far (ones on ku im not paying individually) the previous book was pretty dreadful.

this book wasn't bad, fairly average but I managed to finish it so it gets a star just for that.

as with previous book not really biker not much biker culture and concentrated more on the couple than fmc interacting into club life which if I'm honest that's what I like especially club girl angst.

so disappointed with this series so far. very below par. I mean we have a couple of my fav biker 5 star authors amidst some dnf n with 1 stars. bizarre

let's hope it gets better

chaos & Vanessa: triggers- sexual assault, domestic abuse. umm, yeah so this book not only was a slow burn but it was also boring and just like the previous book, it did not have enough club involvement. there's also a lot of disrespect amongst the members towards chaos, their president. I also doing the story very repetitive. I probably won't read from this author again.

I'm really disappointed. The story does not flow very well at all, and I found it very difficult to relate to the two characters. i wanted to have appreciation for the characters, but it never happened.

Wow. Well that was a fast read 😁. I will give this story 4.75 ⭐, but have chosen 5 overall because, overall I really enjoyed the book, but there wasn't much of the 'clublife' or bikes.
I've not read a MC genre story for a while but I enjoy Max Henry's book's and was keen to see what this new series would bring about.
And WOW, it definitely kept me turning the page as it wasn't what I was expecting.

What I did love...
The author did a great job with creating a main female character that was both Strong but also very broken (and rightly so, her trauma was something that was horrible) *this book does mention some triggering subjects.
Vanessa was a character that I could cheer for when she overcame something, but also, was heartbroken when the PTSD would kick in when something triggered it.

What I found surprising...
Chaos... An alpha, president of an MC club, that had some questionable habits that were almost stalkery... But I still liked him 🫣.

The Romance... Was it Dark? Well I would say in reality the romance between Chaos and Vanessa was actually nicely done.
A trauma victim isn't it just go all kinky bdsm just like that, and the author did a great job in creating a believable romance that was between two people who had their own traumas to overcome while learning to trust and learn how to love each other flaw's and all.
I really enjoyed the scene where Vanessa confronted her past, so she could walk into her future with Chaos.
And I'm going to enjoy seeing how their relationship deepens in the next book.

From the very first page, the connection between Vanessa and Chaos crackles with tension. They pull you into a their world that's full of obsession, healing, and raw passion.

Vanessa is no stranger to suffering. Haunted by a past of horrific abuse at the hands of her stepfather and his friends, she battles severe anxiety that leaves her struggling to trust, to breathe, or to live freely. Chaos, the 28-year-old president of the Kings of Anarchy motorcycle club, should be the last person she lets into her world—especially when he doesn’t ask for permission. His obsession with her leads him to cross every line, sneaking into her bedroom, stealing her journal, and unraveling the secrets she’s tried so hard to keep buried. And yet… he sees her. In a way, no one else ever has.

What makes Chaos such an amazing mmc isn’t just his dangerous presence or obsessive pursuit of Vanessa, it’s his unwavering need to understand her. He doesn’t just want her body; he wants her mind, her fears, her trust. And as twisted as his methods may be, he becomes her unlikely cheerleader, pushing her toward a strength she never thought she had. In return, she gives him something he never knew he needed: peace.

Henry’s writing is dark, seductive, and emotionally raw. The age gap, the intensity of Chaos’s obsession, and Vanessa’s journey toward peace and self love all make this book impossible to put down.

This is the first in the series and it had my attention from the first page.
Chaos is the President of The Kings MC and doing his best to keep the club on track while clearing up the disasters left behind from the previous President's betrayal.
Vanessa has spent most of her adulthood, running from an abusive step father and has found a small slice of peace in a small town where no one knows her.
That is until Chaos spots her and is intrigued by the woman who obviously struggles with her demons and becomes obsessed with understanding those demons and why they own her.
Vanessa knows this tattooed biker is the last person she should be letting into her life, but his gentle need to understand her and help her escape her darkness, makes it very hard not to allow him behind the walls she uses to protect herself.
There is a slow burn between these two mismatched but somehow connected souls and Chaos's obsession with Vanessa is woven into both her life and the continuing problems and mysteries that plague his club.
Sometimes dark and often heartbreaking this is a story of horrific pasts, obsession that skirts the law and courage drawn from the compassion of others. Above all it is a love story both of chosen family and two misfits that heal each other.
This is a fantastic read and promises to lead us to an even more amazing series. If you love a bad boy biker and the woman who turns his world upside down, this is the one for you.

This isn't your typical toxic MC romance. Chaos is the MC Pres. and the club has always been his priority until Nessa became his neighbor. Nessa has kept to herself after escaping her traumatic past not even giving very many details of her life before Minnesota to her VERY supportive friends.

Chaos stalks Nessa intending to make sure she'll be a good neighbor when he moves the club into the property next door but finds much more than he intends. And what he finds makes him fall for her and want to help her overcome her past. But if he puts in the time with her, will his club suffer?

What I Like:
- Mental Health Rep
- Realistic coping and not instant "I'm over it and fine now."
- Characters are 30+
- 400+ pages but still a quick read.
- Chaos is swoon worthy in the way he supports Nessa so she can "save" herself.

5 Stars - Nessa mental health is realistic and believable, not a glamorized cliche version of dealing with trauma. The plot isn't complicated but interesting. The characters are surprising and sweet. It's a dark romance that's night quite so dark. More like a grey romance, it's not pitch black but definitely morally grey.

2.5 Peppers - There aren't a ton of spicy scenes and most are very tame and not lengthy. It's a bit of slow burn but just enough spice to call it a spicy romance.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

I am a sucker for a good MC romance. I don't read them as much as I use to. But, when I read a really good one I always remember why I loved reading them so much. This is the story of Vanessa and Chaos. She is a woman that has been in hiding for many years trying to escape her past. All she wants in her life is some peace. She is now living in a small town working in a cafe and trying to live and love the small town life. However, you don't ever expect to wake up to a MC President in your house in the middle of the night. I'd be terrified. She on the other hand barely blinks and eye. When a man like Chaos is obsessed he is over the top have to know everything and how your mind works obsessed. She is the kind of woman that you have to be in completely or not at all. Is he going to have the ability to do and be what she needs? You are going to love this book. I know that I did. I loved the characters both separately and together. I loved that we had to uncover what she was running from. I loved the chemistry these two had. I loved the story line and I can't wait to get more books in this series.

Wow, this was a dark, gritty book that was hard to put down. I've started reading the KoA MC books and I am loving them. Each story I've picked up has left me wanting more and Property of Chaos was no different.

I'd love to have more of the Minnesota chapter ASAP. These guys are a bit disjointed, but they are brother's no matter what. They just need to find their path and their spot in this world. Chaos has a lot of baggage to unpack and he's worried that he won't measure up, but what he doesn't realize is that he's strong, dangerous, and respected. He just needs to learn to respect himself and his position.

Vanessa's childhood was taken from her too soon. She escaped the dark, depraved childhood, but it still lingers and she's guarded, understandably. However, when she finds the shadows moving in her home, she might just learn to lean on them and let them help her.

I really enjoyed this story and found myself hating to put the book down or for the story to end, but I look forward to more in this chapter to come. This was my first book by Max Henry, but I will be watching for more from her to read.

Who doesn't love a complicated drama filled emotional MC storyline.
The characters are flawed with many emotional issues that would leave most people paralysed in fear. However Vanessa has found ways to mostly cope and is determined to overcome her past and fight for her best life possible. If only she had the support she needs. Moving to a small town to try yo regroup and fight for herself, she slowly starts to build friendships in town. Until dhe wakes to find a man in her house. Then her life takes on yet another round of anxiety and confusion.

Chaos is the president of the Kings of Anarchy MC in town and has taken and fascinated to the somewhat odd, new wowan at the local coffee shop. Chaos finds himself obsessed with the quirky new lady in town and takes it upon himself to find out everything can about her.
Vanessa doesn't know why she has drawn the attention of Chaos and doesn't know what to do about it.
When her past catches up with her she finds her strength in most unlikely of people and places.
A wonderful read and looking forward to reading more.

Author states in the beginning that her novels are all angsty, as in true tear your heart to pieces. I'll disagree there though it did tear up my eyeballs with all the eye rolling I did.
I really liked Chaos. Though not his 2 toned hair and painted nails, yuck.
I liked that there was enough club business/action that it all wasn't just about Chaos and Vanessa.
I couldn't connect/empathize with Vanessa. She had trauma but she wore it like a badge of honor. She was always whining, crying, had panic attacks and anxiety, was full of self-doubt and self-pity. I did not consider her strong since it seemed like she didn't do much or try to get healthy.
The scene in the lawyer's office was good though almost anti-climatic given all her trauma.
There was too much sex scenes and yuck, masturbation scenes. Also, I get major icks when some supposedly Alpha man allows a woman to hand cuff him and dominate him, 🤮.
The writing was good and for the most part kept me engaged in the story though there were parts I did skim past.

Property of Chaos is the first book in the Kings of Anarchy MC: Minnesota. It features Chaos the president of the club and Vanessa a girl who lives across the road from the land bought by Choas and his group. Vanessa has spent years running from an abusive step father. She enjoys where she lives now as its rural with no neighbours until Chaos arrives. He sees her, realises she is struggling and wants to help but also becomes obsessed with her. When Vanessa’s past catches up with her, she finds the strength to face it head on with the help of Chaos and his mc group.

It's a really great MC story. It is a slow burner with fantastic characters. It was awful to read what Vanessa had been through but so powerful to see her being able to stand up for herself. I loved Chaos how he was sweet when needed and how he helped her escape the darkness. I loved these two together totally different people but fit together perfectly.
Can't wait to see who comes next.

“What do you get from this?”
“You.”

I’m back in my MC era, devouring motorcycle men and the ladies who melt them. Max Henry’s Property of Chaos is the haunting tale of a tarnished hero and a heroine re-growing her wings to fly. Intense and intriguing.

The hero, MC President, Chaos, is quite the fan of stalking the heroine and I was here for it. Vanessa, the stunning and strong heroine, is haunted by demons, as she struggles to put the past behind her. These soulmates are tethered together with undeniable chemistry and I felt their palpable connection through the pages.

Property of Chaos burns with fire, desire, and vengeance. It tackles tough topics like abuse—showing the beauty and bravery among the broken, the fierceness among the flaws, and the healing and undying love. This book hijacked my heart while mesmerizing my mind.

4.5 chaos 💋

If Max Henry writes it, I will read it.

Property of Chaos is the first book of a series set in the Kings of Anarchy world. The story follows Vanessa, who has been in hiding for years, running from her past. Living in a small town, minding her own business, she wakes one night to find Chaos - the MC's President - in her house. Much to her surprise, her and Chaos have an instantaneous connection, and he is utterly obsessed with her. It is a bit of a stalker romance, but I like my MMC's morally grey. I love that Vanessa is a strong FMC despite her troubled past, and the mental health rep with her anxiety feels raw and really hits home.

While set in the same world, I don't feel like you need to read the other books to love this. It's a different story, and doesn't read the same way. It's angsty and dark and is a great story that highlights strength of character in the face of trauma, and perseverance in love.

Thank you so much to Max for the eARC of this book!

“The woman is haunted by shadows she can’t outrun.
Question is, what does the darkness hide?”

I do love a a good MC based love story, the sense of family and belonging of brotherhood and this was no exception although it was a journey to get to…

With the club seeking less lime light in their town, away from the heavy weight of judgement of their lifestyle and way of life their move to an old abandoned property unearths an unknown entity. Who is this woman who will be living so close to their new home and what secrets does she hide?

Obsession, attraction and secret never to be told fuel a likely love story that helps to heal the deep wounds still bleeding within. Will the past stay buried or will ghosts from the past continue to haunt the here and now, destroying any future they may have with one another?

I loved loved loved this story. Not all heroes wear capes and not everyone wages war visibly. The internal battles were so relatable and the nuance was subtle and perfect. I am hoping we get more from this MC really soon!

I always love a good MC story. Especially when the MMC falls hard and is protective of his queen.

Vanessa is broken, courtesy of the demons of her past. Chaos is similarly broken, due to his own demons, but can't help but feel the need to rescue her.
He delves into the depths of her mind by reading her journal uninvited. And he finds that he needs her more than she is willing to understand.
Chaos wants to love her and protect her from everything harmful that she has escaped from. But he's afraid that if he does, he could lose his MC family by choosing Vanessa over them.
We have a strong FMC who would rather not be a damsel in distress and an MMC willing to burn the world to the ground for her.
How could you just not love that?

I enjoyed this book very much and I can't wait to read more about the other brothers in the Kings of Anarchy MC.

Well, this story matches its name, full of chaos. Vanessa has been through a traumatic experience that she just wants to put behind her, but the triggers are real and they are cripling. And when the past comes back to try to take her, it will take all her will to try to pull through. When she starts to see shadows, she thinks it's her imagination until that shadow shows itself in the form of Chaos. Chaos is the President of the Kings of Anarchy. He's trying to make a better life for his club, and when a woman catches his eye, well, he can't leave well enough alone. He says it's because he wants to make sure she's not a threat, but it's so much more than that. As things are revealed and lives are at stake, can Chaos save her? Will Vanessa be able to get rid of her demons once and for good?

🏍️ MC Romance

First book in the Kings of Anarchy MC series. Chaos, president of the club, decides to make a move from in town to a rural location. Here he meets Vanessa, someone who has been running from her traumatic past. When the two meet, Chaos instantly becomes obsessed with her, but she is unsure of him due to her past. These two together have great chemistry and felt like their characters really grew together. The raw emotion and passion that they each have is captured in this story.

Overall, it was a great storyline, and I enjoyed getting to know other members of the Kings of Anarchy MC club. I am excited to see where the other books in the series go and if we get any more of Vanessa and Chaos.

Can I just say how much I love the Kings of Anarchy MC World!!!!

This is the first book that I have read by this author. I cannot wait to read more.

I was absolutely glued to the pages and wanted to forget everything and just read! I couldn’t wait to get to the next page.

Amazing characters and world.

He can spy on me any day!!

She’s running from her past. Wanting to keep that part of her life buried. Living in the middle of nowhere is a great way to make that happen.

He’s the president of his MC and he needs to move out of the public eye. Finding the perfect spot to relocate brings more than just a piece of land…

These two will make you squirm, swoon and need a few cold showers

It has been too long since an MC book gave me this many feels and ticked all the boxes. While there is very little other club drama, the stage has been set with great world-building and characters that hold more than a passing interest.
Vanessa is a girl with a traumatic past that threatens her ability to manage living life without encountering major panic attacks and flashbacks. Chaos is the president of the Kings of Anarchy MC Minnesota chapter who sees Vanessa as more than a one-night stand or a notch on his bedpost. Can they overcome everything that prevents Vanessa from having a chance at a future. Highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

The Minnesota Chapter of the Kings Of Anarchy MC series kicks off with quite a bang with Property Of Chaos! It's Vanessa "Ness" and Chaos's story and it's a very emotionally charged story. Their journey is intense, heartbreaking and tragic but the path to forever is beautiful and all about healing and overcoming past trauma. Chaos seems to completely understand Vanessa and all that she's endured and most definitely is everything that she needs. Property Of Chaos will have readers feeling absolutely everything and at times all at once. It's going to be interesting to see what this author brings us after this one!

I really enjoyed this book! I really enjoyed the character build up and the uniqueness of this story. The side characters are pretty awesome and I hope some of them mentioned get their own stories. Some of these characters have a backstory that I want to know more about for sure. This is an MC book and there is typical MC jargon and rivalry. The FMC is hiding from her past and the MMC committed an act that most people would be leery of. However, they get to know and trust each other slowly but surely. The MMC is a little over the top, but what MC character isn’t? The FMC is interesting and unique. She’s vulnerable, but strong and feisty too.

Absolutely riveting!!

Max Henry is a new to me author and after this book I will be reading more of her work. This story yield me in thrall for on beginning to end and I couldn't put it down. It's definitely a page turner. I loved the flawed characters of Chaos and Vanessa. They were perfect together and while they face many challenges they do reach their happily ever after. I have never read a.book before that had a sexually dominating female in but boy was that hot! There is some delicious spice in this story. And yes, there is plenty of angst. I cannot praise this book highly enough.

Property of Chaos🏍️

Property of Chaos is your next must read❣️ A heroine who is a complete juxtaposition, vulnerable and anxious one moment to sassy and quirky the next. A hero who is more than the chaos that follows him everywhere but also has more layers than an onion💛

Loved this story and its diverse characters. The story and chemistry between Chaos and Vanessa was sizzling but also hard fought for❤️‍🩹 I for one cannot wait for the next book in this series as I really want to know more about the other brothers🙌 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review🥰

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I loved the banter between Chaos and Vanessa and how obsessed Chaos becomes with protecting her.

The love and understanding that Chaos shows towards Vanessa is what made me enjoy this book. He helps her to manage her anxiety, grief, and depression in different ways that keeps her out of her head (they may not be healthy but they work lol)

The conclusion of Vanessa's main issue felt a little anti-climatic to me. I do like that it didn't become this whole long drawn-out ending, but it just fell flat for me.
