Rate this book
Lauren Rafferty has come so far. After eighteen months in a women’s shelter, she’s finally ready to a stable home for her three young sons, a fresh start as a veterinary technician at the local animal shelter and a life free of the fear that shadowed their days.

Jeff Banks first saw Lauren when he stood guard the night she and her boys arrived. Since then, his gentle strength has moved from protector to trusted friend. His faith in God anchors him and his growing hope for something more with her. But Lauren cannot reconcile the God Jeff trusts with the past she’s trying desperately to leave behind.

Just as Lauren begins to stand on her own two feet again, life throws her off balance. Workplace accidents. Unexpected feelings for Jeff. Quiet questions stirring in her heart about God’s goodness. And one phone call—one choice—that will force every truth, every fear, every hope into the light.

When the consequences become life or death, Lauren must Will she guard her heart, or let God heal it? And will she let Jeff in before the moment slips away?

Faith tested. Love risked. Redemption waiting.

I love Reindeer Pass! Malory Ford weaves a tale of sweet romance, difficult subjects, and hope and healing. Lauren Rafferty and her three sons have been subjected to more than any family should have to endure. When she arrives at a women's shelter, she is seeking refuge and healing and a fresh start. Jeff Banks, a security guard at the shelter, offers her no-strings-attached friendship and a positive influence for her three boys. As Lauren heals from physical and emotional scars, she finds employment and begins to put her life back together, but she has shut her heart off to God. Jeff, a long-time Christian, would love nothing more than to have a relationship with Lauren but is more concerned with her spiritual well-being than pursuing romance. Can Lauren heal and open her heart to the Lord? Will Jeff lay aside his own desires and be patient as she is exposed to the Word? Dig into Book 5 in this series and follow their lives in the sweet town of Reindeer Pass.

Learning to surrender

A excellent story. Jeff and Lauren have forged a friendship since she first came to the shelter and he helped her that night. He has grown close to her boys and has deep feelings for her. But he can’t act on those feelings until she gives her heart to Christ. Her journey to surrender is sweet and gentle.

I enjoyed the story. There are always threads of redemption and salvation in this Author’s work. Clean, wholesome, and Christ-orientated. I received a complimentary copy from the author and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review

Beautiful

I loved this story. It is beautifully told and I loved watching Lauren grow into herself and become the woman God created her to be. And Jeff’s patience and protectiveness over her and her boys was perfect.

In this book you will read about spousal abuse, a woman’s shelter and a town of amazing people.Jeff is surprised when making his nightly rounds to see a woman and three young boys by the gate of the shelter. Lauren is a wonderful timid young woman who is trying to protect her children. Jeff is drawn to the family right away. Watching these two become friends and their adventures will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. I couldn’t stop reading this wonderful book.

Lauren and Jeff first meeting was so emotional. He had so much love and patience for her and her boys. Loved seeing how those in her life supported and gently showed her the love of the Lord. One of my favorite scenes is where she finally has her eyes opened to all that she has been hearing and seeing. Hope this becomes a series.
