Timely The exercise of fundamental human rights is unique to the American diaspora, unlike in all other countries, where it goes in and out of fashion due to the weight of its historical encumbrances. Yes, Europe included, you only have to review its historical trends to sniff out that inequality is pervasive, albeit presently undertoned.
All Americans should read the history of the Republic when hateful rhetoric begins to take deeper root in society, as the harmful repercussions do not discriminate in their effects.
The speeches highlighted in the compilation are compelling and should be read periodically to reinforce the hopeful goodness that humanity promises. But beware: Democracy and rights must always be vigorously supported, or they will become obscure.
