ARCADIA

Rate this book
In Nevaris, life is a privilege measured in time and death is a fixed sentence, arriving on the twelfth birthday of every citizen. But every four years, the rules are bent on the 29th of February—Killing Day. On this day, the people of Nevaris are allowed to kill in exchange for more time to live. The more kills, the longer they survive.

When the lines between life and death begin to blur, Auryn and Zaire uncover the horrors that Nevaris hides beneath its surface. Forced to confront the deadly consequences of the system they’ve always known, they must decide whether to keep playing by the rules—or take their fates into their own hands.

Omg this book messed me up in the best way 😭. The story is SO good—like imagine dying and going to a fake heaven that’s secretly run by the government, and then getting sent back to real life as a punishment?? Wild. Auryn and Zaire are everything. Their bond is so real and emotional, and I loved how they slowly opened up to each other while trying to survive in this super messed-up world. It had me thinking about life and choices and how scary it would be to have your future decided for you. Plus, the plot twists?? I was NOT ready.

The writing is really beautiful without being boring, and some of the quotes seriously hit so hard. I loved how real the characters felt—Auryn is strong but broken in a way that makes you root for her, and Zaire is just… the perfect quiet, loyal, secretly-soft guy. I need a sequel, a movie, something. If you liked Divergent, The Hunger Games, or anything with dystopia, emotion, and high-stakes drama, you’ll be obsessed with Arcadia. It’s going to live in my brain for a while.

Reading Arcadia felt like being pulled into a world where reality and fate constantly clash. Tvisha Kamdar Mehta’s storytelling is both powerful and poetic, making every scene vivid and impactful. Auryn and Zaire’s journey kept me hooked, and their struggles felt so real and relatable.

What I loved most was how the book balances futuristic elements with raw human emotions. The plot twists genuinely caught me off guard, and the deeper themes of guilt, hope, and resilience made me pause and reflect.

If you’re looking for a story that challenges your perspective and keeps you invested till the last page, Arcadia is a must-read. Highly recommend!
