These characters, especially the FMC, stressed me OUT! They are selfish, disloyal, and sneaky. However, they do make for a compelling story. Zonima, the FMC, has absolutely no willpower and gives into every whim and desire, even at the cost of losing family and friends. She moves to TX for a fresh start and a new job and meets her match in her boss, Dante. He unravels all the progress Zonima's made prior to meeting him, leaving her worse off than she started. This emotional rollercoaster is fast-paced and audacious with several moments that will make you want to scream and shake Zonima. Unfortunately, some people have to learn their lessons the hard way. Fortunately for us, we get to be entertained by it. 😏

GIRL WTF. Finish book 2 expeditiously bc I need more. I knew I wasn't trippin bout halfway through and then BOOM. WOW girl you ate. & I hadn't even finished and I had people adding this to their tbr by saying chaos.
This is my 6 star read. This book quite literally kept me at the edge of my seat starting on page 1 - prelude.

How can a FMC be so unlikeable and horny in a way that had me looking out from behind my eyes the whole time?! Zonima is so so clever and SO dumb at the same time and I loved every second of me screaming "GIRL STEP AWAY FROM THAT D.CK" (which is a lot)

Really, really clever writing from Joonie P with the small hint drops throughout and a very interesting ending!

My review seems to be as unhinged as this book so just do yourself a favour and read it.

First off, I need a bath after reading this !!! (in the best way possible). Lol. This is my first erotic thriller, and I have truly enjoyed myself. Joonie P. has re-invigorated my love for reading with this novel.

I loved how Joonie painted Zonna as a sexually energized Duracell bunny; Zonna is the true definition of “Demon Home !!” *Druski voice*. I enjoyed the character of Dante as the master manipulator acting on primal instincts. I loved how Joonie painted the realism of our society covering the topic of judgment we have for one another.

Overall, I would give this novel a 5/5. This piece of artistry could perfectly be adapted into a film produced by A24. In addition, this novel has brought excitement back to reading for me and I look forward to her next masterpiece.

Last year I read Dante's Possession by Mrs. Joonie P. So when I saw that she revamped this story and extended it, I jumped at the opportunity.

Possessed by Mrs. Joonie P. centers Zonima, and her life's path. We get to know about her relationships (romantic, familial, and platonic), who she is, and about her questionable decisionmaking skills.

This book had me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, I went from compassion, to a slight side-eye/feeling bamboozled, to Oh no she/they didn't, to... WITAF?
Possessed had me mind blown!

Eventhough Possessed doesn't really leave us hanging with a cliff hanger. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Because this just became something completely different!

Zonima has zero self-control and gives in to every temptation, no matter the consequences. She heads to Texas hoping for a clean slate and a new job, but then she meets her boss, Dante, and everything unravels. All the progress she’d made? Gone. This story is chaotic, messy, and addictive. It moves fast, packs an emotional punch, and there are so many moments where you’ll want to grab Zonima by the shoulders and yell, “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Some people have to learn the hard way—and thankfully, we get front-row seats to the drama.

Erotic thrillers usually ain’t my thing, but this one? Yeah—it got me. Possessed is bold, emotional, and messy in a way that feels real. The writing pulls you in fast, and Zonima’s voice is raw and honest. She’s not perfect, but she’s trying—and that’s what makes the story hit.

I didn’t expect to feel so much, but this book had me sitting with some things. It’s wild in parts, but there’s depth too. If you like stories that aren’t afraid to go there—emotionally and otherwise—this one’s worth the read.

Did I finish the book or did the book finish me. I’m still trying to figure this out. Possessed was my first erotic thriller book and let me tell yall this book took the meaning of demon time to a whole new level. I was invested in the story beginning to end. Zonima was one of the most chaotic but relatable characters I have read about in a long time. Sis is quite literally the worst person ever ruining lives left and right. If you wanna read about people being the best and worst versions of themselves this is the book for you! 20/10. Would definitely recommend

I'm still sitting here trying to figure out what genre this falls into, but it was so messy in all of the best possible ways! I was like, this author is a whole problem! I would say Zonima should get some therapy, but we all know what happened the last time she tried that LOL
The spicy scenes were SO hot, it had me all kindsa ready to sell my soul! I have never had it as hot as she wrote it 😳 so now I'm jealous, and I'm ready to go find me a Dante... regardless of how the book ended 😏

This was my first urban romance, and wow what a ride! I was on an emotional rollercoaster the whole time. The FMC had me yelling at the page, she really threw away her relationships with friends and family for the D?! Girl, it cannot be that serious. That said, the MMC was hot and totally irresistible, so I get it… kinda. The spice levels? Off the charts. And that ending I did not see it coming! No cliffhanger, but it definitely left me wanting more from this series.

I never saw the ending coming! This book had me hooked from beginning to end. Can’t wait for the 2nd book to come out!! I was so sure this was gonna be one of those stories that ends with the FMC paying for all her seductive misdeeds but the twist at the end was chefs kiss. Would totally recommend!

Really it’s a 3.75 ⭐️ read.
This book put me through a love–hate whirlwind. It got on my nerves, stressed me out, and had me talking back to the pages—but I was still locked in. The FMC wore me—the entire fuck out—and the plot swerved more than I do in real life. Predictable in moments, chaotic in others… a whole roller coaster.

Possessed: The Extended Story of Zonima

I was under the impression that this version of Zonima’s story would just provide background context that would explain her behavior. I was grossly mistaken lol. Zonima has little to no concept of what is acceptable behavior. If she is inclined, she will even aid in her own demise. Dante has a hold on my girl so tight, she can’t be bothered to care about the aftermath of her actions. Literally, Dante has turned her consciousness every which way but loose.

Before she even meets Dante, her life is already out of control. She wants to be loved, encouraged and valued. The intimacy she lacks from her nuclear family unit is what she tries to persuade her sexual partners to fulfill. Nothing is enough for her. Her only allegiance is to her own desires. It has nothing to do with what’s in her best interests. She leaves a trail of destruction wherever she goes.

While Zonima should be blamed for her terrible decision-making, she does have an interesting upbringing that contributes to her disposition. Her parents paint this illusion of perfection. They’re for the enhancement of community, but her needs, as their child, fall by the wayside.

The twist was out of nowhere. Sure, Dante’s name and previous actions automatically make me think of Dante’s inferno. Zonima is in this limbo state under his control. I didn’t expect things to be this wild. I didn’t know Joonie was writing erotic fantasy lol.

Lastly, this review wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t mention Ari. I can’t believe how Ari was done so dirty.

Zonima can’t be trusted in anyway. I’m not sure how she’s going to get out. I doubt she even wants to be free. She seems to be content with being Dante’s pet. This is especially true because he’s carrying the weight of her transgressions.

Zonima is imperfect...to put it lightly...and that's what made her such a compelling character while reading and editing Possessed. I love the way she's probably the most flawed MC I've ever read, but there's still something about her that still hooks you in and keeps you there, following her through every sexcapade and horribly bad decision she makes.
