So, I fulfilled my destiny. Escaped Hell. Saved the world (you’re welcome).
And now I’m being held hostage by my boyfriend’s father, a self-proclaimed god with a serious control complex. I’m a prisoner in a gilded cage—traded for the lives of the people I love.
Khaosti knows where I am—we’re bonded, heart and soul. No cage is strong enough to break that. But I left him behind for a reason. He’s a dragon now (long story), and if anyone can burn the world down to save me… it’s him.
In the meantime, the gods are watching, and the Eternal Mirror is stirring. And me? I am so done with destiny. It’s time to rewrite the rules. *** The Eternal Mirror is the final book in the Lucifer’s Mirror trilogy, a romantasy series with magic, romance, found family, interfering gods, shifters, and fated mates…
Growing up in the cold, wet, north of England, Nina Croft spent a lot of time dreaming of faraway sunnier places and ponies. When she discovered both, along with a whole load of other things, could be found between the covers of a book, her life changed forever.
Later, she headed south, picked up the perfect husband along the way, and together they volunteered to work in Africa. There they discovered a love of exotic places and a dislike of 9-5 work. Afterward they spent a number of years travelling (whenever possible) intermingled with working (whenever necessary.) Eventually they stumbled upon a remote area in the mountains of southern Spain and the small almond farm they now call home.
Nina spends her days reading, writing and riding her mare, Gencianna, under the blue Spanish skies—sunshine and ponies. She reckons this is proof that dreams really can come true if you want them enough.
Nina's writing mixes romance with elements of the paranormal and science fiction If you'd like to find out about new releases then sign up for my Newsletter at: https://app.mailerlite.com/webforms/l...
4.25stars-THE ETERNAL MIRROR is the third (and final) instalment in Nina Croft’s contemporary, new adult LUCIER’ MIRROR paranormal, fantasy romance series focusing on nineteen year old Amber, and Khaosti aka Khaos. THE ETERNAL MIRROR should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up after the events and cliff hanger of book two MIRROR OF LIES. If you have not read the first two books in the series, there may be spoilers in my review.
SOME BACKGROUND: Three years earlier our heroine was found injured without a memory of who she was, or where she came from. Tossed into the child welfare system, Amber went from home to home where she would meet her best friend Zayne, and eight year old Josh until the night everything begins to spiral out of control.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Amber and Khaosti) THE ETERNAL MIRROR focuses on Amber’s imprisonment by Khaosti’s father, a position in which she willingly surrendered herself to save the people she loves but Khaos’ father Khronus is determined to find and use the Eternal Mirror, a powerful mirror that can make or break gods, as well as create new worlds or destroy those already thriving. As Khronus continues to gather more power, Amber and Khaos find themselves not only searching for a way to stop Khronus, but Amber struggles with her fated bond to the man with whom she had fallen in love. War ensues, many will die, and Amber must choose between a promise to herself, or saving the world, such as they know it.
Once again, the world building multi-layered and elaborate as Amber, Khaos, and their intrepid gang of shifters and witches, find themselves battling amongst themselves, gaining and losing powers, and preparations for the encroaching and destructive war that may prove deadlier than they could have ever imagined.
The relationship between Amber and Khaos is one of fated mates but Amber struggles with her destiny and her future, and in this, she is hoping to save the people she loves, by venturing on her own, without the man she owns her soul. Khaos and his beast, know that Amber is their fated mate but as Amber struggles with the reality of what is, Khaos is willing to sacrifice everything for the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
There is another large ensemble cast of magical and enchanting characters including alicorn, dragon, and wolf shifters, as well as witches, gods and goddesses.
THE ETERNAL MIRROR is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, magic and mayhem, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The premise is detailed, dramatic, complex and fascinating; the romance is subtle; the numerous characters are magical, mythical and fabled.
This book picks up right where the second book left off. I liked Amber doing what she has to and being fearless and going straight from destroying hell to Astrali. Although once she gets there it’s so anti clamactic the way she just goes up to a guard and is like here take me like oh I guess. She constantly claims “maybe I could do a spell for x” she specifically says a tacking spell and she didn’t think do that while nobody knew she was there what?! Her inner monologue is kinda grating on me. I get she spent the 3 years on earth with no memory and learned all the earth lingo but she also gained her memory back and she just acts so teenage whiny. I am really enjoying reading Kahos’ POVs and seeing that he is thinking things through Amber has the chance to get her brothers out and she doesn’t. I get she has an in at the castle but get them to safety then come back or something she’s stressing me out. Khaos is great and I appreciate his patience and understanding with Amber. She complains so much and I get it’s insane what she has to do but oh my… the ending felt a little flat to me and a little disappointing but not terrible.
I really wanted everyone to eat something other than "bread and cheese". I liked the wrap up of the series. I felt like Josh would end up being more of a key player after his magical encounter but when things twist in a direction I'm not prepared for, I enjoy it. The ending was not what I would have picked but I didn't entirely hate it either. The angst and moral dilemmas in this series steadily grew and you could feel the weight being carried get heavier and heavier. it was well paced and well done. There were a few minor plot holes but nothing crazy, and honestly it's hard not to have them when you're dealing in spells and magic. what's possible and what's not is a difficult line to walk. the characters were likeable and the bonds created were believable. the villains were nice and villainous. I enjoyed this series and the refreshing love story of the fated mates trope having their own twists and struggles. where it ultimately wasn't the bond that held them together. chef's kiss.
This has been a fabulous series to read with so many twists and turns along the way. The world building with the mirrors was just genius and unravelling the mystery of them has been wonderful. This final book begins exactly where the last one ended so right from the start I was hooked back in. Selene and Vortex who are the Gods at the beginning get their story explained and we find out why the mirror cracked causing the fragment to separate. The dialogue between Amber and Khaos is as sharp as ever but it seems Khaosti is learning how to support Amber. Amber goes to find her kidnapped foster brothers without Khaos as it’s his father Khonsu who has taken them. It is dangerous and Khaosti is unhappy to be left behind in the aftermath of destroying Hell but he can feel her through their bond so plans to get help. The best new character is Grimlet who is such a delight. The ending was everything I could hope for with just a tiny hint that we may see more of this world later.
Author Nina Croft gives us Khaosti and Amber’s journey to their HEA in ‘The Eternal Mirror’. And, WOW, what an epic journey it is.
*Edge-of-my-seat, took-my-breath-away, cried-me-a-river, couldn’t-have-ended-any-other-way*, might seem archaic to some, but they are oh so appropriately applied here. The range of emotions evoked throughout, added to the absolute silencing of the world around me as I read. Leaving me with the feeling pretty darn close to having actually been there.
Ms Croft is an incredibly talented wordsmith. This is an incredibly written book.

Loved the conclusion of Amber's story. Won't even try to tell you how it goes. It is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, sorrow and joy. Amber continues to rush headlong into trouble and does her best to save her friends and the world(s). Her relationship with Khaos scares her since she feels that their bond is something that was forced upon them. But does she really want to break it? More importantly, can she find a way to beat his father, Khronus, or is his stolen magic too powerful?
Laugh, cry, scream, say unkind words. Enjoy. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.
The Eternal Mirror is a very satisfying conclusion to the excellent Lucifer's Mirror trilogy. I was very happy with the way it ended but also a little sad. I am just not ready to say goodbye to all these amazing characters! I feel like there are more stories to be told in this world and I definitely want to see what the future holds for Amber and Khaosti. Wonderful, imaginative storytelling and great characters make this fabulous epic adventure fantasy romance a must read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this final book in this trilogy! Amber feels she has to sacrifice so much to save the worlds. Khaosti loved her so deeply, that he will do anything for her. This finale book has so much feeling, so many twists and turns. I loved it. It keeps you on the edge of your seat not knowing what is going to happen next. Specially the last couple of chapters. So good! I loved the ending! Loved how Nina keeps it kinda of open with Josh. A new trilogy maybe to come?
An amazing third in the trilogy! No frustrating finish. Life has never been easy for Amber or Khaosti but they always go on. They always find a way through the hell. The Eternal Mirror is broken and if Amber can't find a way to fix it..all is lost. All worlds, all the people she loves...all. An action packed tale with twists and turns you never expect. With Khaosti at her side she is determined to save those she loves, hopefully without having to give her life up to do it. I loved this series!
Nawwww we were doing so well. I really enjoyed book 1 & 2 but this one felt like a giant let down. It felt rusher and melancholy ridden. Also the spice level was a drastic decline. I finished it, I'm glad I did but I will not be continuing on with other books from this world.
The rage moments were in the wrong places for me. I fell really underwhelmed by this ending too.
I struggled through books 1 and 2 because I love the concept but the writing is bad and juvenile. I might DNF this book because the FMC is still childish AF, the writing isn’t any better, there’s so much I’m skimming because I’m tired of reading the same poor sentence structure. Ugh I won’t return to KU yet but I put it down over a week ago and I’ve read 6 other books instead to try and motivate me to get bored enough to pick this one back up.
Kheeping Up With the Khardashians continues with the fun trend of Amber saying she's hungry every chapter. I don't know why i thought there might be a logical or at least relevant reason for the continued mentions but i guess that's my fault for believing the author thought about this at all before she published it.
If you are looking for an action-packed fantasy that has you feeling all kinds of emotions, then this is the book for you! It had twists and turns at every corner and will keep you engrossed through every page. Would definitely recommend!
This finale was everything! Twists, genius mirror world-building, sharp Amber & Khaos banter, plus the delightful new fave, Grimlet. The ending wrapped it up perfectly, with just a hint we might see more of this world!
This series is absolutely awesome!! It is fast paced and flows very well. All the characters are good. What an ending! Is Josh the next book? Look forward to it. This book is so, so good.
Please check CW and TW before reading this one. This is the 3rd and final book of this series so you know the build up was there previously. We are getting action and emotions from this one. You continue to cheer for Amber to get herself into a safe place finally.
