Ghost is absolutely action-packed right from the first page, and I loved every second of it! The story had me hooked immediately. It features the captor/captive trope, which, to be honest, I’m usually not a huge fan of—but in this case, it was done so well. It didn’t feel forced or toxic; instead, it actually made sense for the characters and the situation they were in.
What really stood out to me was how Ghost handled Mila. Even though she was sent to kill him—literally—he never went out of his way to hurt her or treat her cruelly. He was rough when necessary, but there was always this underlying layer of care and protectiveness that kept creeping in, and I loved seeing that tension build. His internal struggle, the way he kept debating with himself about what to do with her, and how he slowly started softening toward her—it was honestly so cute to read.
Both Ghost and Mila were incredibly well-written characters. You could really empathize with both of them, even though they were technically on opposite sides. Mila especially had so much depth to her. Once you learn about her past and everything she went through as a child, it’s impossible not to root for her. She’s tough, resourceful, and has been through hell, and yet she still manages to hold onto some piece of herself.
And Ghost… well, he might have been her captor, but he never felt like a villain. He was just a man caught in a complicated situation, trying to do what he thought was right while also battling the fact that he was clearly falling for her.
By the end, I was so happy to see Mila finally get her happy ending. After everything she’s endured, she deserved that peace—and I’m glad she found it with someone who truly cared for her. This book gave me action, tension, romance, and emotional depth, and I already know I’ll be thinking about these characters for a while.

Ghost works hard to keep his life off the radar and attention away from him. His time in the military and working private security have perfected his skills and instincts. However, when he’s awakened to someone attacking him and realizes it’s a woman, everything shifts inside him. Mila is tasked with taking out Ghost and quickly finds she’s in too deep. Her extensive training and determination have not prepared her for encountering Ghost. His interrogation of Mila and the information she provides elicits a reaction he didn’t see coming.

last but definitely not least in this series is Ghost. from the very beginning we find ghost in his bed sleeping just to be woken up by Mila. Mila is a badass assassin who was hired to ☠️ ghost and fails miserably and then turns into the one being captured by ghost himself.
wanting to find out who put a hit on him he takes Mila to his cabin and contemplates on all the ways he can torture her to get answers but winds up torturing himself being torn between exacting his torture on her and his heart. he basically goes easy on her but almost killing her of hypothermia and then bringing her back.
He falls first after finding out Mila was only a kid when she was kidnapped and trained to be a spy and assassin. Torn between loyalty to her kidnapper and her growing feelings for Ghost they start working together to figure out who paid to have ghost killed.
There was so much action with a bit of spice added that will keep you from putting it down. I've loved every book in this series from the beginning and ending with learning ghost's story is the cherry on top.

Captured... Mila story is heartbreaking, tragic, so horrible it broke my heart. I had a feeling Ghost had a huge heart under all his rugged, stoic, ruff exterior. I loved how Ghost dictated, struggled, and how humane he was with Mila, jealousy and protectiveness look good on him. Both Ghost and Mila had horrific childhoods that shaped them into something they didn’t want to be, but their story is much more than what they endured even similar parts. Mila and Ghost story is about survival, it's about your human soul hanging on to good parts, finding who you really want to be, and taking that leap. Both Mila and Ghost had to fight to stay alive, lost so much at young ages, but their spirit, their thrive for life and their strength kept them moving forward, their hope kept them fighting for a brighter tomorrow. OMG! I was so happy to read about Natalie and Sephie, loved it! Kevin and Micha are just adorable. I loved how Mila and Ghosts story ends. I would have loved to read more on Mila's family. I loved reading about the guys at Backcountry how united they are, how they have each other's back, and how brotherly they are with each other; it's so wonderful to see that kind of relationships through all chaos. I loved their story!

Incredible Conclusion to the “Chosen Few”Series
Ghost is one of the most dangerous alpha males at Backcountry Protection Services. Mila was with in inches of killing him. Now getting her to talk is his goal. The sooner he can do that the sooner he can be rid of her. He needs to be careful though as she could be his demise as she gets under his skin. She could be that one to rip away his armor. This book is an action packed enemies to lovers romantic suspense loaded with steam, violence, danger and suspense that took many twists and turns along the way. Both Ghost and Mila are private lost souls that are trained to be deadly off the radar assassins. They end up relying on each other as they become the targets. Samantha Wilde is an incredible romantic suspense author as demonstrated in her sixth book in the “Chosen Few” Series. Even though this is the conclusion to the series, I hope it is not the last we read about the Backcountry Protection Services characters.

Ghost is a well written story that I found quite compelling. This might be the first book I have read that falls into the "romantic suspense" category and I think it delivers in that regard. I found the ending of the story mildly predictable but it was still satisfying to read and ai flew through the last 20% of this book because I had a hard time putting it down.
The story starts off strong with an assassination attempt and kind of just keeps going from there. There is very little down time in this story, lots of action and fast paced. We do get background on both our MCs trauma and how it has impacted their lives. ⚠️ Please read your trigger warnings there is some difficult to read content in this book despite it being classified as romance. ⚠️
This is the 6th book in the Choosen Few saga but you definitely dont need to have read the others to follow this book. You may, however, want to read the others after reading this book. I certainly do!

Action-packed, fast-paced, twists, turns, drama, action, danger and suspense, all rolled up into this amazing story. The final one in the Chosen Few series and I hope we get to see the men of Backcountry Protection Services again. I loved Ghost and Mila, their stories heartbreaking yet it is what defined them. They both have pasts that have made them stronger, resilient, and deadly. Both trained to kill. When Ghost discovers an assassin about to kill him, he fights back and realizes that it is a woman. Determined to find out who sent Mila, he is shocked when he finds out who is behind it. But for Mila, she knows has a.target on her back as well and that her past is.not easily left behind. As they fight together, they may just be able to get something they both thought would never happen, love and a partner. Beautifully written and it will certainly leave you on the edge of your seat.

My friend has been telling me I needed to read these books, and I kept adding them to my TBR but I dove into Ghost and I'm so glad I didn't wait. I'm sure if you've read the other books then you'll know the characters better but with never reading anything from this author I was able to follow the story easily and LOVED IT! Ghost has skills that you can't put on a resume! Mila is a strong woman who had a lot of her choices taken away from her at a young age. Ghost and Mila might start off enemies but the attraction between them is undeniable. Once these two decide to play nice there is no going back! They could be such a power couple that live in the gray area! Absolutely loved it and I can't wait to go back to read the rest of the series! My first book by this author but it won't be my last. Right off the bat from the very first page I was hooked into this book. I just freaking knew I was going to fall absolutely in love with Ghost! He goes through a lot. He’s dark, dangerous and handsome but he is also sweet, jealous, and protective. Finding out his background really just broke my heart for him. Then Mila was a freaking badass! That girl can hold her own and I was so freaking here for it! My heart shattered for her reading what she had to go through. This book was so dang intense. There were so many emotions. This book had me feeling all the feels. I felt like I was going through everything they were going through with them. The banter was top tier and had me cracking up. Their chemistry is so electric. There is so much action, danger and twist that kept me turning the pages. This was the perfect end to this series.

This book was an emotional read. Mila has been through so much trauma starting at a young age and truly being manipulated and brainwashed. Ghost likes to keep himself private and more isolated from people. He likes peace and quiet. This book was action packed right from the start. Mila was hired to unalive Ghost but things didn't go her way. He wants answers. A softer side of Ghost came out for Mila and these two found themselves deeply mixed up in multiple situations. The twists and turns leave you on the edge of your seat and the action is past paced and keeps you glued to the story. I loved the found family that Ghost has with his friends and how they accepted Mila from the start. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

I believe I have read other books by this author, so I gladly accepted the ARC when offered by Hidden Gems. Although I have not read the other books in this series, it was not hard to get into the story, and it could definitely be read as a standalone. Very rarely have I found a story like this where the former military hero who now does “security work” is faced with a woman in a very similar field. When Ghost meets Mila, she has been sent to kill him, as that is her job.
Once they get beyond their initial meeting and impressions of one another, they begin to work together. This is both to find out who hired Mila and how to move on, possibly together. The book made me want to read other books in the series and see how Backcountry Protection Services came to be.

Mila and Ghost. Mila has a mission and waiting in the closet for her subject to fall asleep is frustrating. Just as she was getting ready to accomplish her goal her subject attacked her. He is too huge and even using all her skills she could not subdue him. He threw her in his trunk and drove into the mountains. Ghost needed to find out who hired her but being a woman gave him some uneasiness. Mila tried to escape twice but each time failed. But when she almost died things seemed to change. By being in each other’s face changed their attitude and they decided to call a truce. Mila wants to get out of the business but is it possible? Ghost wants to know who had a contract on him. Is there a way to make these things happen? Seems like things may be a changing.

Book 6, the final book in the series starts with a bang! Ghost is the last member of the Backcountry Protection services whose story is told. It’s a romantic suspense story that’s an adventure packed ride. The sex is spicy yet romantic between the MMC and the FMC.
Ghost wakes up to an assassin attempting to kill him. When he overpowers them and goes to kill them he realizes it’s a woman so he stops trying to kill her and captures her instead. This is how Ghost and Mila’s story begins. Ghost falls hard and fast for Mila who has a tragic backstory that tugs on Ghost’s heart.
It was a fun ride and a great end to the series.

FINDING THE PERSON WHO SEES YOU
Ghost and Mila. OMG what a ride of emotions and steam and intense tension. These two blew me away. They both have demons that just make them that much more wonderful charecters that are made for each other. Instead of fighting each other they now have to fight together to survive. The other charecters bring humor with their banter to the tension. The story is well written with danger and intrigue and suspense and memories remembered and embraced. I couldnt put this down. I will be reading the other asa I finish this review. Again just WOW.

This was a very powerful message and the courage to adapt to the circumstances you are forced into. Ghost and Mila are two lost souls who find themselves in a very unusual position. They captured my heart and had to keep going to see where they ended up. It was really intense and I was sweating reading through this. It was amazing. The chemistry was beyond anything this author has done to date. If you need a fast paced, heart stopping, breath taking read you do not want to pass this one up. The ending will leave you with tear streaked cheeks

Enemies to lovers always has me in a chokehold. Right from the start, Ghost had me hooked and on the edge of my seat! I love a strong FMC, and Mila is a badass. Ghost is a big burly gruff man, with a mostly grumpy personality, but such a soft side for Mila.
The action in this book is top tier, with a complex enough plot without being too difficult to follow.
This is the 6th book in this series, but they can definitely be read out of order. You are 100% going to want to grab more books by Samantha Wilde, I know i will be!

Taken as a young child and trained to be a killer Mila is sent after operative Ghost.
Mila was only trying to do her job because she was in trouble if she didn't. Ghost didn't know that. I liked the slow build of the relationship. And the slow reveal of both their missions.
But that obvious attraction was what got in the way. And that was priceless.
Loaded with romance and a little stream but also suspense and tension that builds.
I really enjoy this author's story telling. She writes in a way that captures the imagination and very easy to read. Fantastic book!!

Yes! Ghost's story was just as good, actually better, than I had anticipated as i hyped myself up to get to know him throughout this series. Ghost and Mila make the perfect enemies to lovers story, and what should have been the biggest mistake Mila ever made in trying to kill him, turned out to be the best and the saving grace for both of them. Mila gained not only the alpha protectiveness of Ghost but the entire Backcountry team and family, and as danger stalked her they all stepped up to the plate. Lots of danger, action, and suspense kept me totally enamored as these two find their way to a love and happiness neither thought was possible.

Well written and includes a descriptive, well defined storyline with the predictable and unpredictable aspects. Ghost MMC and Mila FMC have many things in common. They are both assassins..his by choice, hers by necessity. Both had poor childhoods with difficult experiences, in upbringing and background which have dominated their lives to a degree. Hurt and suffering lingers in memories. The story has harsh and softer elements as the relationship develops.

The worst thing that can happen to an assassin is to be caught a mere second before completing the job. Or maybe it isn’t. Like when the current job was thwarted before she finished the job. Waking up to a woman trying to kill him had Ghost doing all he could to find out who hired her. Only he had to get Mila to talk, which was not as easy as he thought…. Be prepared, this one keeps you wondering.

Ghost was phenomenally put together from lots of broken people parts. Ghost and Mila struggle their way through danger and trust issues to find that together, they are whole. The issues each face together and within themselves are heartbreaking and intense. This book is a great addition to the Chosen Few series. It was satisfying to see Ghost find his HEA with someone equally strong and equally broken.

This was a rather intense story!
Action packed, intense, a few triggers but so worth the read.
The backgrounds of these 2 charters are tragic, heartbreaking, and so horrible. Ghost has a huge heart under all his rugged, stoic, ruff exterior, and I really liked how Ghost struggled and how humane he was with Mila.
Great story.

I have always wondered what is Ghost’s story. And Samantha Wild didn’t disappoint. From the first page, I didn’t want to put it down. The plot is thrilling, filled with unexpected attraction, steamy hot scenes, brutal secrets and unexpected twist and turns. Loved it!

Mila is trained and trained well. She should have never gotten caught, but Ghost had other plans. He knew she was there right away. He knew something was off, so when Mila went to attack, he had the upper hand.
He didn’t know why she was after him, but he was going to find out. He never expected to fall for the woman who was sent to kill him.

Ghost by Samantha Wilde is an excellent romantic suspense novel that truly delivers on its promise of heart-stopping action and deep emotional engagement. The writing is superb, drawing the reader in from the very first page and refusing to let go until the satisfying conclusion. I would give this book a review of 10+ stars if I could. Enjoy!
