I've always said that this movie was ahead of its time, and I'm a fan. Naturally, when I found the movie novelization, I had to read it. The positive is that you get to read the thoughts of the three main characters so you know exactly where each character is coming from. The negative is that some of the views of homosexuality is very dated especially in regards to Claire and how she reacts to her husband, Zack coming out. For a movie tie-in, it's better than most.
