Resurrection

Rate this book
In an abandoned house amidst the Piney Woods of East Texas, a new cult has arisen. In one room, surrounded by candles and shrouded in mystery, lies a dead woman in a glass coffin. It is for her that this new Family has been built, and it is the dark and silent Darius who has brought her here. Jack Macon lives outside of Tyler. One night, some of his livestock are ritualistically slaughtered. He joins Carrie Price, whose sister joined the cult and has disappeared. A young girl named Laura tries to escape the Family and reaches out to Carrie for help, but the tall thin man called “Slim Tom,” assassin for the Family, has them both in his sights. The story follows Jack and Carrie on their mission to discover the truth as Darius remains intent on a single task--bringing his Queen back to life and her former glory.

This is a sequel to Black Mass, which i really enjoyed.

I always go into sequel with a open mind, but is a second or third ever really as good, as magical as the first one? For me not usually .

But I have to say I think I loved this one more.
When Mark describes that damn glass coffin, I got freaking goosebumps.

It made me think of all those older legends and retellings of Snow-White, the ones where she's not the lovely little princess, but a evil, older, being, just waiting to be awoken for her destruction to be released, but that's just me reading really deep into this, or is it?

I was hooked from jump on this one, we have a guy, Darius who lets just say, is blinded by love, and obsession at this point, to bring back Regina "Queen", this is truly a sequel as in it picks right up where Black Mass left us, and lucky for me, i did not have to wait for the second one like some of you did, because i was itching for more, just after finishing it lol .

My heart of hearts wanted to really feel for Darius, its cute right, to love someone that much ? But the man was just too much . and i couldn't help but root for him to fail and Jack and Carrie to make it, and destroy this damn crazy cult.

Laura, pulled at my heart-strings, trying to escape, just wanting a normal life.

But fuck Slim Tom.

This was a great read, highly recommend it, but read Black Mass first, you have too , trust me.

I just finished this book and had to share. I don't see this authors book talked about enough and he definitely deserves it. I'm not very good at explaining things so hopefully this makes sense lol This is about Resolution (Black Mass book 2) by Mark A Daniel - Author

This book is #2 in a three book series. The first one is Black Mass. I came across this series in one of my book groups and as soon as the author mentioned cults I was sold. In this story, Carrie is trying to learn what happened to her sister. She meets a girl named Laura who knew her sister. Carrie and Laura discover they're being followed and decide to hide at her uncle Jacks house. Laura plans to go back home to her mothers house. Carrie and Jack team up to try and defeat the cult before they can wreak havoc on the entire town. I could NOT put this book down. Black Mass was just as gripping and addictive. If I could give this book 10 stars I would. On to the 3rd!

Highly recommend if you're into stories about cults! Read Black Mass first. It's SO good!

A gripping tale of mystery and dark obsession!

Set against the haunting backdrop of the Piney Woods of East Texas, this novel is a masterful blend of suspense, intrigue, and dark allure. From the moment you step into the abandoned house where the new cult has risen, you are drawn into a world veiled in mystery and danger. The imagery of the dead woman in a glass coffin, surrounded by candles, sets the stage for a chilling journey.

This novel is a spellbinding read from start to finish. Highly recommended for those who love a good mystery with a touch of the macabre!

What a mind blowing sequel to the first book Black Mass.

Resurrection starts where the last book ends. Although the protagonists of this book are different from the previous one, the antagonists are still the same, however, they are more sinister now. Regina (or something more evil within her!?), after her resurrection, modifies hers and Cole's initial plan towards something more dangerous as an act of vengeance (towards society, I believe?). The book also serves as a reflection of what happens when power gets combined with evil intentions. The author beautifully lays down a very hard hitting fact, power in itself is not evil. It's only the intention that drives destruction.

Throughly enjoyed it. This book is one page turner.
Curious as to what happens in the third part!!

Thank you Mark A. Daniel for the ARC of this novel
What an awesome book to follow the Black Mass novel. I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved how the characters and their stories are introduced, and how the stoey unfolds. This is a continuation on the Black Mass story with new characters introduced and of course some of the previous ones.
The characters and places are well described. The story has a good flow and certainly kept my attention. I couldn't put this book down. I liked the length of this novel. Great ending!
I will continue to read books by this author

Resurrection is the sequel to Black Mass, which in my opinion, is one of the best horror/thrillers I've ever read. This book is set in Texas where a new culture emerges while waiting for the queen to rise from the dead. I love the way Mark A. Daniel writes. The plot is like a puzzle where all the pieces meticulously fit together. The characters are very real and the writing is superb. Although this is a standalone, I suggest reading Black Mass first for background information. I highly recommend both books!

I really enjoyed this sequel. I was glad that the story was continued from Black Mass. I always liked the character of Darius, and it was good to see him continue. His story did take a shocking turn!

Regina is one truly evil thing. I really felt for Ben in this one. Mark A. Daniel does a great job creating worlds and characters that are believable and easy to care about. I got wrapped up in this story and hated for it to end. I'm so glad that this had expanded into its own universe! I look forward to the next one.

This is that read where I tell you don't get attached to a character. Because YOU DO NOT KNOW. What a heart pounding, edge of your seat, experience.

A great addition to this witchy, paranormal, psychological, horror filled world. This Queen's Cult is cutting through groups of people and towns. Leaving bodies and taking no names.

Another great read from Daniel. I haven't found one I didn't love.
