India Wells and I have been friends since we were kids, but life took us in different directions. I’m an entertainment lawyer in Atlanta. She’s a classically trained violinist living in Boston. But when my cousin, the record producer, needs a session violinist, I call India up and offer to let her stay with me while she takes on this career-defining project. I’ve been happily divorced for three years. But the more time I spend with India, the more I realize what I’ve been missing.
India
After Juilliard, I followed my doctor boyfriend to Boston. I got the fairytale wedding, but all that glitters ain’t gold. Post-marriage, my sole focus has been elevating my career and breaking down the barriers I’ve faced while inspiring the next generation of classical musicians. But as Marcus and I get reacquainted, there’s an undeniable attraction between us.
Crossing the line means risking my friendship with the one person I can always count on. We’ve both been burned before. So when desire turns into something deeper, is one of us prepared to sacrifice everything we’ve worked for for a second chance at love?
Note: This is the expanded version of the Book Baes & HEAs story with new content and an epilogue. This book kicks off the brand new The Black Diamonds Quartet series—a spinoff of The Love & Music Suite.

I enjoyed this friends to lovers story. Marcus and India's friendship has lasted for many years but now that their all grown up, feelings are changing to more than friendship. I love how their supportive of each other's profession and very encouraging when deciding on taking their careers to the next level. There is no denying their attraction to one another, so why not take things to the next level. There is some hesitancy but they finally admit their feelings and Im glad they took a chance on love.
Lovely friends to lovers romance. I enjoyed reading Marcus and India’s history growing up like brother and sister. Now they’re both divorced. Always there for each other no matter what, they find their way to happiness through being vulnerable and chasing their dreams. Love wins too! Reese is becoming one of my favorite authors for sure.
MADE FOR ME is the first in Reese Ryan’s Black Diamonds Quartet, a spin-off of the music industry centered Love & Music Suite, connected by alumni of the Peachtree School of Arts. This delicious friends to lovers story is about attorney Marcus Brown and incredibly talented violinist India Wells, who have remained close friends since childhood. Marcus is an up and comer in Atlanta while India as been working to make her way in Boston, despite the sometimes less than welcoming environment there. When a need arises for some highly placed session work, India is Marcus's first call, and when she accepts his invitation to crash at his condo for the duration, they realize there are glimmers of more than mere friendship between them.
Reese Ryan's voice and perspective are beautifully authentic and her storytelling engrossing. I loved Marcus and India's journey from besties to well, everything, and the changes in mindset they juggle to find their way forward. Eagerly awaiting more from Ms Ryan and the next books in this series.
Marcus and India truly were too cutesy. Their longstanding friendship was the best foundation for a real romantic relationship between them to blossom beautifully, even if neither of them had the possibility in mind when they decided to add physical intimacy to the mix. The way they have always loved and supported each other over the years made it easy to transition from friends to lovers. But it was taking the leap into becoming more than friends with benefits that they had to figure out how to navigate.
This was a story about India Wells and Marcus Brown. They were childhood friends that grew up together in the same house. They became close after both were divorced and had to regroup their lives. Temporarily she came from Boston to Atlanta for a job on a musical project and became Marcus's roommate. They realized their attraction to each other which led to happily ever after.
This was a great second chance romance. India and Marcus grew up together. They were really childhood undercover sweethearts. Writing about violinist was a excellent touch. We have to get our black girls exposed to the classics. Love for another person made this even better.
A cute, quick friends-to-lovers read that was sweet and easy to get through! 💕
I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters and the comfort that comes with watching a friendship slowly turn into something more. It was a fun little romance with good vibes, lovable moments, and the kind of story you can pick up when you want something light and feel-good.
Four talented women get the opportunity to form there own quartet Idia also gets her long time crush Marcus which I'm sure will make her mom his very happy.
I enjoyed this book. Reese Ryan is a good author. She keeps you captive with her words. She has love, intrigue, some steamy scenes and happily ever afters.
