Cam Kassom didn’t need to worry about grades, he was the best football player at LSU, with his sights set on going all the way to the league. First, he would need a tutor to keep his dreams intact. What he wasn’t expecting was the annoying, kinky haired nerd assigned to be his tutor. Remi was a thorn in his side, and all he wanted was to get his grades up. Cam had long list of things, and women, he would rather be spending his time on, but he was forced to be in close proximity to Remi.
Remi’s, head was in the books, and not on the frivolous college life. And the last thing she wanted to be bothered with was a jock, who made a joke of his education, and just wanting to ride easy street. People who had things handed to them and didn’t know the meaning of true hard work graded on her last nerve. However, tutoring was her job, and Cam needed assistance with getting his grades up to par. The last thing on Remi’s mind was getting to know LSU’s big man of campus. But being in close proximity to Cam did things to her hormones that she desperately wanted to ignore. It didn’t matter, though… Remi had hard choices of her own that ultimately derailed from her goals. And Cam Kassom turned out to be the least of her worries.
Both Cam and Remi led lives that ran parallel, and their paths should have never crossed. However, whether they liked it or not, their connection was fated, and so was the drama that buzzed around them. Chance encounters, snakes in the grass, and tight kept secrets takes both of them on a ride neither expected.
K. Renee is from sunny, California. Creative by nature, she decided to put her imagination to paper. K. Renee is an avid reader. During the day she works in an office and at night she writes. These stories have been in her head for years and are finally coming out on paper.
This book follows the youngest Kassom sibling in his final years as start football player at LSU. He and his tutor Remi have a fated friendship that he ruins with one night of misjudgment!
Remi is a geek and proud about it, she loved Cam more than anything and made a decision she thought would keep him happy while allowing her own dreams to crumble.
K. Renee brings the Kassom gang back when Cam comes home to do a family exclusive interview ahead of his championship game, and the laughs were in front street!
This is hands down one of the funniest families I’ve read and I LOVE when she brings them all together! I need a few holiday specials with them as well! They are seriously the noon family I can never get tired of.
Cam and Remi’s journey back together wasn’t easy one but it was worth it! I lives everything about this story.
I'm never disappointed reading about the Kassom family. From the Og's to their children, and grandchildren. There is never a dull moment and you are guaranteed some good laughs. Ma Lai and Gabe have not changed. They are still a damn mess. Add in Darius and Remi cousin Shan. It's a whole comedy show. Remi is truly a sweetheart. In College on a partial scholarship. Tutoring was how she made extra money to feed herself and pay for the rest of her education. She made great money tutoring Cam while secretly having a huge crush on him. Remi may not have the outer appearance look that Cam is used to but I could tell from the beginning he did feel something for Remi and I believe Saniya jealous, messy, and evil ass saw that. One night with Cam and losing her virginity. Remi end up pregnant. Cam was wrong for how he handled Remi when she told him. He knew she was a virgin and he knew her character. I don't know why he assumed Jonathan weird ass was who Remi was pregnant by. Being pregnant and being accused of cheating on her science project. Remi left school. Jarian really was the friend Remi needed. The way he made sure she was straight during and after her pregnancy. Was commendable. Even six years later. Jarian was still there helping Remi with her twins. Cam was living his life. Being engaged to Saniya and his football dream's coming true. Cam had no clue he had two children and marrying Saniya would be a huge ass mistake full of regrets. When Remi ended up being the one to interview Cam and his family about his upcoming game. I knew then the truth was going to come out. I really thought Zori and Johnathan was Remi best friends. I would've never expected them to turn out to be snakes. Especially not Zori. Johnathan was in his feelings because for year's he always wanted Remi but she only looked at him like a friend. Plud Cam did whoop Johnathan ass twice. Saniya damn near lost her edge's when Remi and her children popped up year's later. Cam was beyond furious learning he had children and missed five years of their life. That's also when he saw Saniya true colors. Ma Lai couldn't stand Saniya. I laughed so hard at her talking about that girl in her face. Kari couldn't stand her either. Saniya was disrespectful as hell towards them though. Funny thing is she had no clue what type of family she was dealing with. The fact Zori and Johnathan allowed Saniya goofy ass to manipulate them into her plan for revenge against Cam after he ended their engagement. Told me all three of them was slow asf because had they really knew who the Kassom family was. They would've been running the other way. Zori needed her ass stomped for putting her hands on Kamyrn. In the end. Karma definitely came for Zori, Johnathan, and Saniya
From the beginning to the end... It captures you and doesn't let go!!! The realness of the storyline keeps you reading. Happiness, sadness, emotionally! ✨ The craziness, will have you on the floor, laughing so hard. Read it, and read it again 😂 You'll love it.💕
I did not enjoy this book at all it was rushed ad the characters were kinda slow . It also kept giving family members chapters that didn’t need to be apart of the story but I guess was put in to make the book longer. I couldn’t even really finish it and it was a short read . The jokes weren’t funny and the story line was very similar to a Love Belvin book I read.
cam & remi’s bond was so cute from the start. remi is cams tutor & best friend. i loved tht cam did not play ab remi. but remi in tht first chapter had me gagged bcos ma’am why is u doing tht, ik u wanna prove a point but thts a lil wild. but tht one decision changes the course of there relationship. leading to 6 years w no communication & a lot of hidden secrets changing everything.
miss k.renee u had me clutching my chest crying when remi n cam spoke to each other again. MY HEART COULDNT TAKE IT. i see both sides but miss remi u know u wrong 4 wht u did. imma side w my man cam on this. one thing tho, the attraction never stopped for them two, they jus pushed it to the back of there minds.
oooh i ate this story upp. the twists in this book had me shook bcos wdym?! who knew 192 pages of a book could cause so much hurt. reading ab them reconciling & learning to trust each other again was beautiful. truly such an amazing story🫶🏽
sidenote cam’s grandma n saniya had me laughing soo much. his gma is a real one😂
If could give this book one star I would. I hate when books have a nice synopsis but when u read the book it is written In the most tacky and ghetto way. What do u mean she isn’t all attractive YET she drops her towel for him. Even the plot was just woow. I skipped a lot of chapters because this was so unreadable. No im not a hater im just being honest that this book just paints black people in the most unethical way. This book could have been so go good HADit actually followed what the book was actually about.
The book has included too many viewpoints, so it felt disjointed at times. The summary was strong, but I believe the delivery could have been much more polished.
This was my second book that I read in it's entirety from this author and I really liked it. I am a fan of the second chance secret baby trope, but this one was full of so much more that I never saw coming. They say keep your enemies closer than your friends, but daaaang. It was like a movie and I never saw all that coming for Remi. Kammy and Kaleb stole the whole show for me. Those two lil fictional people made me smile so BIG while reading about them! And although Granny Lai and Uncle Gabe were hilarious, their comedy show did start to become more of a distraction than a welcomed comedy break for me. Overall, I really liked this cast of characters though... well except for the 3 who got what they deserved - although I wanted them to suffer more. There were also some editing and grammatical things that should have been flushed out since this the author indicated that this was a rerelease, but I still enjoyed the story.
Cam is definitely his dad's son. He is fine, rich, and handsome. He also is bout it. Cam always thought there was something special about Temi. But being the college football star at LSU (Geaux Tigers) he was worried about what people would think about him dating the geeky girl.
Remi was crushing on Cam and decided he was the one for her. Fast forward, five years, Cam and Remi see each other at an interview for BET. Unbeknownst to them, this a get back from her so-called friends and his hating ass fiance.
Things pop off, and stuff happens. Ma Lai is still cutting the fool. In the end, Cam and Remi find their happily ever after. Love. Love, love this book. It's always a time with the Kassom family. Can somebody get Uncle Gabe and Ma Lai....crazy as hell...lmao.
The Kassom family was a tight knit bunch! Cam was the #1 draft pick in the NFL but at LSU, he needed a tutor! He met Remi and even though she was a geeky girl, he found himself wanting her! One thing lead to another, she ends up pregnant and runs back home. When the truth is revealed all hell breaks loose. Saniya the mean girl at school is determined to be with Cam but she has a secret she's been keeping with Zori, Remi's supposed bff and has been plotting for years! In the end the twins are kidnapped and her other bff Jonathan are in on it! What a mess! Not on The Kassom families watch were they getting away with that! They all met with horrible fates! The Kassom's are hilarious from Gran Laila, to the uncles along with Remi's cousin Shanae, I laughed throughout this whole book! So glad they got their HEA! Great read!!!
The love story of Cam and Remi was a captivating journey 💕 filled with unexpected twists and turns. 🌪️ Despite the presence of challenging characters like a psycho ex 😱 and two complicated best friends, their relationship remained resilient and heartwarming. ❤️ Gigi, Uncle Gabe, and Darius, was hilarious, 😂 creating moments of intense laughter that were so powerful that I had to stop reading until I could stop laughing. 🤣 Cam's family was particularly noteworthy, providing a supportive and endearing backdrop to the central romance. The story beautifully balanced humor, drama, and genuine emotional connection, 🎭 making it a memorable and engaging tale of love overcoming obstacles. 💪🏾
My girl , my girl My girl, I am an Avid reader who enjoys everything you write. This book was like a fine piece of artwork, like the blending of colors that give you an absolutely exquisite masterpiece . I got to mention. My favorite part, Gabe and Laila smoking outside man that was the funniest shit I have had the pleasure of reading(I can’t find my self,Gia going to be mad) outstanding , had me crying laughing. This like all your other books is a must read, that I willing be reading again and again . Thank you , just Thank you ,ready for the next one. Great job Author
I purchased the book, but wanted to reread it because I love the Kassom family! I’m so glad Zori set it up for Remi to come and interview Cam. He need to see her and find out about the kids. They were meant to be together. It was crazy to find out Jonathan and Zori weren’t really for Remi and the twins. Jarian was a real one though! The Kassom family doesn’t play about each other. I love that and this family! I love Gabe, Grams, Darius and the rest of the crew!
The Kassom family is not to be messed with! If you come for one you better be prepared for war!
Cam is a top athlete at LSU but his grades are lacking, so he hires a tutor Ms. Remi who thinks is a geek! One thing leads to another and she ends up pregnant! His So called girlfriend Saniya is just a gold digger looking for a come up. Be careful who you call a friend because the two people that Remi trusted the most will definitely surprise you!
This book was such a fun read! The plot moved at a great pace, and the characters felt real and relatable. But what really stood out to me were the family conversations. They had me cracking up more times than I can count. The banter was sharp, hilarious, and reminded me of those chaotic, laugh-out-loud moments around the dinner table with my own family.
I knocked off one star only because a few parts dragged slightly, but overall, it was warm, witty, and genuinely entertaining. Highly recommend if you enjoy books with strong family dynamics and a healthy dose of humor!
I love love K Renee books I have read them over and over. You make it hard for me to enjoy other authors. You are the best to do it. Great laughter is good for the soul. This book was so good and funny. Storyline top tier. Did not disappoint. I read my copy of the book and when this rerelease happened I read it again. The added words I did know I needed. Great job!
. I hated how Cam did Remi when she told him she was pregnant. She was a virgin how can you think the baby could be anybody else. This book had some twist and turns with them so call evil friends of hers. I’m glad Remi got support after dropping out of school. I didn’t care for the part with the monkey dying and them having a funeral. That was silly and could have easily been left out.
I liked everything about this book. It spoke to me. The entire thing made me feel as though I was involved in the book myself. I recommend everyone go and read this. I have nothing but positive things to say. I do wanna know how the sisters marriage ended up when she told Cam dont worry about it. Remi's "friends", made me wanna jump through the book because that was such a shame what they did you her
I read this in 24 hours, I laughed a lot and I cried some too. Zora and Jonathan were a big disappointment. Cam and Remi's love for each other is remarkable. Once the hurt, disappointment and betrayal was taken care of, it almost became fantasy. K you did the thing. If you haven't read it do so, it covers the highs and the lows with humor on the side.
In the aftermath of the incident, Cam demonstrated remarkable integrity and maturity. The family's perspective that both parties shared responsibility resonated with me, acknowledging how pride can distort rational thinking. The narrative unfolded beautifully, with an unexpected twist that added depth and intrigue. Ultimately, the resolution was deeply satisfying and left a lasting impression.
This was a exciting story with even a better story ending. To have friends like the ones she had, who needs enemies? I can't believe the length people would go to get with someone who doesn't want them. Tragedy aint even the word. I'm just glad that the outcome was great and family was there for each other, even the monkey lived through the account.
This book was sooo funny!! OMG I've never laughed so much over a book. The main storyline was okay but I loved it when Cam was around his family. They are some fools! Then said Darius, the hairdresser, didn't make it any better at the funeral. I really enjoyed this read. If you wanna laugh out loud, read this book.
I love K Renee and I love that she has given us second generation of our favorite families. Kari, Juju, Laila and now Cam. I hate that Remi has to find out the people in her circle were snakes. I hate that she didn’t tell Cam about the babies right away, that was hurtful. Glad they could work through it.
I had no idea how much I missed them until I read the first chapter… thank you so much for the return of the squad I was crying laughing so bad.. please have more to come it’s soooo many stories and possibilities that can be created.. I’ll be here waiting to support forever and always stay blessed !
crazy funny family you won’t want to put the book down
This book was so good from beginning to the end. This book is now one of my top 10 books. OK when I say I laugh, I cried I mean the writing in this book was so good. OK the betrayal, the secrets I was shocked OK and now I have to read this woman’s whole catalog. The book was that good please read this book.
This was a good read. Took off a star for a couple errors. I’m not a fan of the enemies dying I feel like they should stay alive to suffer their loss. I love downfalls more than the death of a character but this was still a good story. I do feel like it was a little over the top with the forced comedy though.
I've been reading this author's books for the past three days. I can say that the love and commitment that they shared as family and couples was outstanding. The laughter I got just can not be beat. The grandma. Uncle Gabe, and Shane left me hollering so loud my family thought I was crazy.
This book was good. It was kind of predictable. The only part that was surprising was her friends being the ones to turn on her that caught me off guard but other than that, it was a cute love story, very sweet and I like that I really did like it. I gave it five stars It’s worth reading. Oh shoot, my bad spoiler alert, but it’s good that you gotta read the book.
