Shamon brings his love for science fiction and the supernatural, and his background in the military, to deliver heartfelt love stories... torn apart by space zombies. Not to embarrass Shamon with superlatives, but as a reader of science fiction, I can say that when you need to put a book down and wake up your wife to tell her what happened in the story (about space zombies), the author has done some great work. Shamon lives with his wife, Yolanda, who chooses to write about anything but space zombies.
A veteran of the U.S. Army and a lover of all things eerie, Shamon lives in Tampa, Florida, with his wife, Yolanda (also an author), their two golden doodles, and a well-worn stack of sci-fi paperbacks. Galactic pandemic
Well that was a hell of a ride ,left me breathless,The action is claustrophobic and unrelenting ,you are in the thick of it .You feel the pressure of the horse , the panic, the at times despair.It's a great book and I'm looking forward to the next one and maybe we will find out the origin of the plague and who is responsible and what the Fleet is facing elsewhere.But it ,it's very good

You did it once, you can do more
I remember many years ago reading the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry. An I just read gave me the same goosebumps has it showed me the birth of a legend.

Better Than I Expected
This is my second time reading a book about zombies and soldiers; and I have to say this one blew the other out the water. I loved how it turned out to be everything I was hoping for and more

Zombies on a Space Station
Enjoyed this story which was kind of like a blend of Aliens 2 and Dawn of the Dead. Looking forward to more in the series.

Book #1
Book was pretty repetitive and didn't seem like it knew what it wanted to be. Didn't focus on any one element well enough to develop it.

I liked the zombies in a space station
Intense action and creepy! I enjoyed it but I will say that I was tempted to give him 4 stars. Want to be supportive though but some of the action scenes, though intense, was repetitive. And I just have to think they’d have more soldiers and better guns on a battleship. Like a freaking chain gun or a big machine gun. Kept it pretty limited with rifles, sidearm and knife.

For one's first novel, Harper shows career author chops!
I wasn't aware this was Harper's first book until the end. I noticed things that marked it as an early foray into sci-fi/horror literature but their first!?!? Wow! I felt the strain and frustration of fighting a battle that was stunningly asymmetrical and catastrophic as they come. The abject fear of watching their own die in abattoir of a space station was palpable. It was white-knuckles all the way through. The intensity was relentless. I hope Harper has some more rounds chambered because this was a blistering, gut-wrenching dark ride through the putrid guts of of the dead. Highly recommended for prior military folks. Civvies, have an old soldier on speed dial to translate the lingo that is discretely tactical to make sure you get the full experience.

Relentless enemy is relentless
Not a bad example of space zombie action piece. But, Shamon is addicted to couches and overusing certain words and phrases.
And our heroes definitely benefit from 1980s Action Movie ammo loads. Three days of continuous fire and only in the last five minutes is anyone running low??
Interesting concept, but falls flat on execution.

Dead Station by Shamon Harper is a solid scifi hororor story with elements of Resident Evil, Dead Space, Carrier, and plenty of other military survival horror stories you might like…
A recently refitted space navy ship fresh off a training rotation is tasked with invetsigating loss of contact with a colony world.
Unfortunately they may not make it that far…
As soon as they reach the relay station in orbit following transport, they find communications are down there too…and move to investigate…
What they find aboard are (they eventually determine) space zombies…
The generic suitable military team of not quite space marines are gonna have to fight for their lives if they plan to figure out what happened and survive…
The story does a pretty good job telling an action packed yarn while also setting the stage for future stories…
It even does some light world building to give you a feel for the space civilization…

There's non-stop action throughout the entire book, but sadly it's the same action in every chapter, often using the same few words, phrases and descriptions. Which is baffling because a zombie outbreak on a space station should allow for some interesting situations.
Another big flaw is that you never really feel connected to anyone on the team outside of maybe one or two of them. When they die, there is no impact at all in their loss. There are a few other flaws with the soldier characters, but I'm going to leave that alone here.
Because of the repetitive nature of the story, I was ready for it to be over by the half-way mark if not before, and leaves me not wanting to read further into the series which is a bummer because I love sci-fi and zombies. Gave it a 3, but honestly it's more a 2.5.

wow, that was some story
Don’t know Shamon Harper, well I didn’t until this book, now I will buy his new books after this.
Very good details in every aspect of this story, the first drop ship sequence had me totally believing I was on board with them.
Every scene had me believing I was there and at the end I was part of the team, not many books can do that but this guy can. Hats off to you sir that was one hell of a read. Enjoy

Awesome Story
Love, reading, shattered humanity, book one. Nothing like an armed unit fighting against the relentless horde of zombies. There is a beauty to the shared camaraderie, brotherhood, and sisterhood found amongst and combatant as they fight for survival. Seeing how decisions are made whether good or bad, what the implications of those decisions would mean down the line is always intriguing. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

This book is about exactly what you think it's about: the military fighting zombies in space. I liked it a lot! My only quibble is that some of the action scenes could have been reduced in length (like, how long are the characters going to be fighting in a hallway, or a stairway? It got a little repetitive). Other than that, though, I think this book is very fun. Good job!

The action never stops!
The story was packed with action. Some things were redundant like the changing of mags for their weapons. Also with the number of shots taken they should have run out of ammo earlier than they did. Don't know how many rounds were held in each mag so can't be too critical on this. Like the characters especially Jackson.

Just about burned our on zombie books but........
This one is different in the scope and the hard military fiction involved. I liked it and hope to read about Jackson and his high speed low drag troop in the next book in the series.

The action moves fast, but got repetitive after a while. The whole zombie virus mystery has been played out before. The writing is competent if uninspired. What would be more interesting would be a dive into the origin of the mystery virus. That could be a story that holds the readers' interest.

I just chanced on your book. I am so glad I did. I read it straight through and enjoyed it immensely. It was action-packed, kept me enthralled, and can't wait to read the next one in the series. Good writing all the way around.

Non-stop action
4.5 stars. Thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was a non-stop fuck fest of military and horror. First space zombie novel I've ever read and I was surprisingly entertained and pleased. Look forward to a possible sequel

Ok story, huge plot holes
The idea of zombies in space is interesting, but the story telling lacks integrity (numbers of infected vs the population of the station, sensory experiences of soldiers wearing hazmat gear etc etc)

I could not pass this thriller up. Military, action, sci-fi in outer space, and zombies! Kick ass zombies. Fast, aggressive, and powerful! Will definitely be looking for a sequel/follow up story. This team went thru a ton of ammo and not everyone made it back. Exciting, almost non-stop action.

An awesome standalone about zombies in space. Great idea, amazing story telling. The final scene dragged a little too long for me, but otherwise the book was an awesome, suspenseful read. I want more. I want to know the origins of the disease.

Good Start
Team of soldiers try to survive a hoard of zombies. Good character development. It was a slow start, but once the action started, it was non-stop. It's a bit gory in parts but made you feel like you were there. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Fast Paced Space Zombie Fun!
Dead Station was a real page turner! Very fun and quick read. Good character development and awesome tension at times. I hope there’s a sequel!
