A chance encounter leads to an unforgettable kiss…

TJ
Imagine my surprise when the boy I kissed in the rain five years ago turns out to be my new college roommate. I’ve spent years thinking about his halo of curls and sad eyes, wondering what became of him, and now that he’s here, I find the attraction is just as strong as ever.

He’s shy and reserved, but I think what he really needs is someone to show him his worth, and I’m determined to be that guy. But just as I get him to truly open up, a once in a lifetime opportunity has me making an impossible choice…

Jimmy
Once upon a time, TJ gave me the confidence to find myself, but life has whittled it away until I don’t even recognize the man I’ve become. But when TJ comes back into my life for a third time, I realize it’s time to make some changes, to become the man I’ve always been meant to be. And hopefully, this time, TJ will stay.

3.5!! This was a pretty good second chance romance with some interesting themes imo

Rounding down for a few reasons:

1. There were some scenes that got summarized rather than shown, where I feel like they could’ve added so much more to the romance and chemistry had they been written out

2. This one is picky and I might even be wrong if I skipped over it but like … I don’t really recall a scene where Jimmy noticed the tattoo that TJ got for him? Like those are my favorite scenes when it’s like wtf is that and then there’s a big ol declaration and lalala. Again maybe I accidentally skimmed over it but yeah

3. I couldn’t tell if I liked TJs family or not. I HATED the scene where his mom was pestering Jimmy about his feelings and was like “you love him like a little bit though right” or something along those lines and they had legit been dating for not even a week I think …

4. The friends were nice but didn’t always feel relevant and when they started coming into more scenes later in the book I was just like who are you and why are you here lalala

Other things but nothing else major for now. Im gonna go back and read Sammy and Wills book it looks messy lol

Give In To Love is book three in the Once and Always series. This MM second chance romance story is about Jimmy and TJ.

We first met Jimmy in book one as Sammy’s younger brother. Their mother left them, choosing drugs, alcohol, and one of her various boyfriends. My heart went out to them and everything they went through to survive.

Jimmy was shy, awkward, insecure and anxiety-ridden. TJ was kind, caring and had a huge personality. We get to see these two fall for each other when they were roommates in college, and I knew it was going to hurt when they split. Five years later, Jimmy and TJ reunite. TJ was the biggest green flag. He was so patient with Jimmy. He saw Jimmy’s worth and gave him the self-confidence he needed. These two definitely deserved all the love and happiness. I enjoyed Jimmy and TJ’s love story, and it was a great ending to this series.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

I really loved this! The emotions were so beautiful and honest. I was right there with Jimmy and TJ, rooting for them, feeling everything with them. I understand why things happened the way they did, and while we may never know what would have happened had they done things differently, I feel like they needed that time to grow as individuals and also to cement their feelings for each other.
Jimmy and TJ's bond is something else! It's beautiful and gentle, but also intense and explosive. Their feelings for each other were always in their actions. It was great to see Jimmy save himself. Even after faltering and loosing himself for a bit he stood up for himself, he knew his worth and found the person who saw that, saw his strength and treated him like a king.
TJ is the perfect book boyfriend. Loving, patient, willing to be the rock his partner needs, but also knowing what Jimmy needed at all times and most importantly, asking his partner what he needed in the most important of moments.
I loved TJ and Jimmy's love story and how it played out. I had tears in my eyes(both from sadness and happyness), but I also smiled a lot. I loved their tender and sweet moments. They were really swoony together, and it was lovely to see their connection blossom and become what they both needed and wanted. I loved how determind TJ was and how sure he was about his feelings from the start. Jimmy was more apprehensive(and given his childhood it's understandable), struggled more with opening up, but TJ was always so patient and Jimmy got there in the end.
I really enjoyed all the cameos from characters we've met in previous books.

This a more emotional book, but I wasn't mad at it at all! It was just what I needed. It's very beautifully written and I was hooked from the prologue and so excited to see the story unfold.
It's a beautiful story about second chances, chance meetings, with one of my favorite meet cutes, and a lot of personal growth.

I received a free copy of this book via Indie Author Creative and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have been desperate to read Jimmy's story and this did not disappoint. Jimmy and TJ were absolutely perfect for each other. I loved how TJ really helped to bring Jimmy out of his shell and accepted him exactly as he was. This book was an emotional one. Jimmy struggled so much with his anxiety and it was portrayed perfectly in this story and I loved seeing Jimmy grow.

I loved seeing the characters from the previous books and meeting new ones. This series has been so good and im so sad it's over.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review.

God this book is beautiful. I cried while reading it. Then Melody Claire stitched my heart back together again. Claire has such a way with words in this novel, it made my heart ache. I am absolutely smitten with Jimmy and TJ.

Jimmy and TJ are the sweetest, most authentic couple. It was truly an honor to read their story. This is quite possibly one of the best stories I have read, and I cannot stop thinking about how well all of the pieces of Jimmy and TJ’s story fit together. They meet in the most vulnerable of moments and share a beautiful connection. Five years later, they meet again and sparks ignite for the second time. It’s such a wondrous thing watching Jimmy bring his walls down and let TJ (and others) inside. The quiet steadfastness to him is so appealing. TJ’s unwavering support is alluring. These two together make sense and feel so right, it’s breathtaking. They come into one another’s lives at such important moments. But there are things in place that delay their forever. They have to contend with Jimmy’s desire to not impede TJ’s dreams in any way. I swear when TJ comes into Jimmy’s life a third time (again, five years later), you will hold your breath hoping that this will be the time they shoot for the stars.

Part I is simultaneously a gut punch and gut wrenching. It’s sadness and happiness rolled into one. It’s grief, comfort, and moments of warmth. Part II is the sun coming out after a long rainstorm. It’s your soul settling after a struggle and finding your purpose. It’s lasting peace. Jimmy comes into his confidence once more and TJ is in his corner from the minute they reunite until their very well deserved (and hard earned) HEA. TJ has Jimmy’s back but he allows him to be his own hero and doesn’t swoop in to save him. TJ is the greenest of green flags and I love him for Jimmy. I also love that Jimmy finally allows himself to be loved, loves in return, and finds the strength to say it. Actions play a big part in this book, but so do words. Jimmy coming into his own is everything. Jimmy and his brother Sammy coming to an understanding is the icing on the cake.

This book touched me and I hope it touches you as you read this endearing story of two people finding their way (back) to one another. I’m a fan of second chance romances and this is a great one. (Be sure to check out the trigger warnings).

I’ve always loved Melody’s writing style and her previous books, so I was eagerly anticipating Jimmy’s story—and it absolutely delivered. Jimmy’s book was everything I hoped for and more; it was beautifully written and emotionally satisfying from start to finish.

In the earlier books of this series, I was always drawn to the “Always” parts. But in Jimmy’s story, the “Once” part completely stole my heart. I adored Jimmy and TJ’s first meeting, and when they reconnected years later in college, the chemistry between them was undeniable. TJ is the ultimate green flag—supportive, kind, and confident. He gave Jimmy the encouragement he needed and always made him feel seen and safe. Jimmy, in turn, is a gentle soul who has endured so much due to his family situation, yet he remained resilient and strong—just as TJ always told him. The “Once” section is full of swoon-worthy, heartwarming moments, especially with TJ’s incredibly accepting and loving family.

The “Always” part of the book focuses on Jimmy’s personal growth. After his breakup with TJ years ago, he lost some of his confidence—but now, TJ is back after five years, determined not only to love Jimmy fully but also to be the best version of himself. Jimmy’s journey of rediscovery and healing was powerful, and TJ’s unwavering love and patience made it even more touching. I also loved reconnecting with the rest of the series’ characters, especially watching Jimmy’s bond with his brother Sammy deepen. Their support for Jimmy was inspiring, and it reminded me how much found family matters.

This book was an emotional, heartfelt, and utterly satisfying conclusion to a beloved series. Though I’m sad it’s ending, I couldn’t have asked for a better finale. I highly recommend starting this series if you haven’t already, and I’m looking forward to reading more from Melody in the future.

I seriously loved this book!

The premise:
Jimmy has had a rough upbringing. He has abandonment issues from his drop-kick mother, which resulted in severe anxiety and dimming himself to fade into the background.

TJ is a polar opposite. He comes from a super supportive family who love loudly, and is a extroverted dancer who shines in the spotlight.

They had a brief encounter as young teens which imprinted on both of them. Five years later they discover they're roommates in college which turns into friendship then more.

Life unfortunately has other plans for them and they go their separate ways when TJ has an opportunity he can't turn down, and Jimmy's brain tells him he won't be worth fighting for when things get tough.

I'm always nervous when I see a book has multiple parts because those seem to be the books that hurt the most. This book wasn't all plain sailing, and part two did start rocky, but the HEA was worth the mild angst.

I love the way TJ is with Jimmy. He never tries to fix him or fight his fights for him, he's just there for him to show love and support, something he lacked in his childhood.
The time jump was done well too, with enough of the book given to getting to know the MCs again when they're slightly older.

The spice was the perfect amount to complement TJ and Jimmy's love story. Jimmy is a virgin when they start dating so there are some super sweet and swoony moments accompanied by some lust filled desperate moments which are chefs kiss!

Overall I adored this book. Its not short but I devoured it in under 48 hours. Will definitely be reading the rest in the series!

Vibes:

• Forced proximity
• Anxiety rep
• College roommates
• First times
• It was always you

I am so very sad this series is over, however I am grateful to have read it. This book took my anxious heart and healed a little part of it. It's hard feeling worthy especially when your anxiety is a constant nagging feeling, always lingering, making you feel less than. Jimmy's anxiety in this book was written with care and such tender love.

TJ is ALL the walking green flags. EVERYONE deserves a TJ in their lives. He knew exactly what Jimmy needed and was constantly showing up for him. Jimmy was never broken, he is strong, resilient. He is a daisy. Seeing Jimmy's confidence grow in the pages of this book was so sweet to see. I loved him in every book in the series and knew his story was going to be bittersweet to read. Seeing all the character cameos from the other 2 books in the series was so great to read. I love each and every one of them. Getting a glimpse of the HEA had me smiling.

All in all this was a great ending to a lovely series. I am sad to see them go but can't wait to read whatever Melody has planned next. 🫶🏻🖤🖤

I added this one to my favorites list as soon as I finished it! It was sweet, poignant and beautiful and I loved every minute of Jimmy and TJ's story.

We first met Jimmy in Something Good as Sammy's younger brother, and now he's all grown up and falling in love. Jimmy and TJ have such a pure connection. Their easy attraction and chemistry is thrown off course by life (and Jimmy's insecurity). Watching Jimmy rediscover his confidence and allow himself to fall for TJ all over again made me smile like a fool while I read. I loved TJ's surety in knowing that Jimmy was it for him, and how fearlessly he went after their HEA. Jimmy deserved a special guy after all life put him through and TJ is that- swoony, sweet and sexy!

These two will have you rooting for there HEA every step of the way. I highly recommend all three of the books in this series, but I think Give in to Love is extra special.

Wow. I have been struggling big time to read this year but THIS BOOK!!! THIS BOOK I blew through. I could not put it down.

I fell in love with TJ and Jimmy. TJ is honestly the perfect, caring, and patient boyfriend. If only everyone could be like him. He gave Jimmy everything Jimmy needed and more. I absolutely loved their initial meeting, it touched my heart.

Jimmy, man he’s been through it…Melody gave us the character development needed in Jimmy and boy grow into who he really is. I was literally wrecked with him before thr “Always” part of the book.

Melody wrote such beautiful characters and supporting family, heart felt story, second/third chance romance. I can’t wait to see what comes from her next.

I love second chance romances. There’s just something that still breaks my heart when they breakup the first time when I know they are going to find each other again.

Jimmy sweet baby Jimmy. I’ve been rooting for him since we first met him in Something Good. I knew he would be a tough nut to crack. He has so many feelings and has gone through so much already in his life.

TJ was everything Jimmy needed. From their chance meeting in the beginning to finding each other again it was meant to be. TJ is sweet and thoughtful and loving and protective of what is his. I kept screaming at my phone that they have to find a way to make it.

Their second chance was soft and perfect for them. I was rooting the whole time and love them.

I have been waiting for Jimmy's story and this was great. This is the third installment of the Once and Always series by author Melody Claire, solely featuring second-chance romances. We first met Jimmy in book one of the series while he was discovering he was demisexual. His connection with TJ is so special and I liked the way sensitive topics were handled in the story. This is my favorite read by this author so far.

I definitely gave into loving this book! Melody Claire knows how to write a second chance romance 💗 and I love it!

I'm so happy to have gotten Jimmy's story! He deserves it and it was a joy to read. He's so strong and it was wonderful to see how well TJ and him fit together.

The end of part one killed me! 😭 But it was worth the heartache to get through to part two 🙏🏾 I've never read part split stories but it honestly made me appreciate the growth both the characters go through and how much stronger I felt connected to them as a whole towards the end. You really go through it with them through both parts of the stories.

I have wholeheartedly enjoyed and loved the Once and Always series and I'm sad its over but it'll always be a comfort reread for me, forever and always!

Highly recommend for fans of second chance romances or if you have never read one, this is a good series to start with!

I received an ARC of this book, all thoughts and feelings are my own.

Give In To Love is book 3 in the Once and Always series and it can be read as a standalone.

I really enjoyed Give In To Love. The story was beautifully written and I immediately fell in love with Jimmy & TJ. From their first meeting as innocent teenagers to reconnecting years later in college I was fully immersed in their story.

Their love story wasn’t easy, it was painful and heartbreaking at times and their HEA was hard fought.

If you love MM romance, hurt/comfort, first times, broken boys, second chances and all the feelings then this is for you

This is the last book in the authors once and always series. The series follows a format. The main characters meet and fall in love, but something happens where they cannot stay together. They come together later for their happily ever after.

In this one, Jimmy and TJ meet first when they are simply teenagers and then again when they are 20 and 21 and our fortuitously roommates in college. They fall in love and it’s incredibly sweet.

Unfortunately, something happens and it makes sense that they do not stay together. The break up is hard on both of them and neither of them take it well. Life goes on until they meet again.

This might be a formula, but it’s a successful one. There is so much emotion packed into these pages. I could barely put this book downand finish it in just a few days, which is very quick for me. I’m looking forward to whatever this author puts out next.

Ohhhh, I loved this book!!

I'd been looking forward to Jimmy's story since I read book one of Melody Claire's Once and Always series, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

But the biggest surprise here was TJ. Please believe me when I tell you that this guy is PERFECT 😍

TJ Sullivan is the greenest of green flags. He's a man we'd all want; loving, supportive, loyal. He's just a beautiful soul and exactly who Jimmy deserved (even if Jimmy himself sometimes failed to believe that).

Jimmy and TJ first meet as young teens, just after Jimmy's home life had completely imploded; spending a whimsical day today, traversing through the forest and, for Jimmy at least, sharing a first kiss.

The pair never forgot each other but didn't see each other again until five years later when they became college roommates.

Their friendship soon picks up where it was that day in the forest, and eventually, they begin the descent into love, becoming everything to each other.

I loved how TJ brought out Jimmy's inner confidence and sass and understood his sunshine's anxiety and needs. Each time he asked Jimmy; 'What do you need?', I swooned. He was a young man with a sensible and kind heart, always putting Jimmy's needs first.

But when TJ's dreams of a Broadway career begin to come true, he can't pass up the opportunity of a lifetime.

"𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕥𝕠 𝕕𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤, 𝕋𝕁. 𝕀𝕥’𝕤 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕓𝕠𝕣𝕟 𝕥𝕠 𝕕𝕠.”
“𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕗 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕀 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕓𝕠𝕣𝕟 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕪𝕠𝕦?”

And so, sadly, the pair part ways. It hurt so much to see these two hurting, yet it was also really understandable. I just wish they'd kept in touch.

The story moves on five years, and when TJ returns, he is still as in love with his sunshine as he ever was. Can these two find their way back to each other, and will Jimmy give in to the love he deserves?

Unfortunately, Jimmy's past with his terrible mother had reduced his sense of self-worth, and I thought his anxiety disorder and panic attacks were accurately and thoughtfully portrayed by Melody.

But in TJ, Jimmy found a man who is caring and compassionate, encouraging and understanding. TJ always puts Jimmy's needs above everything else. He sees Jimmy's inner strength and allows him to grow and thrive, building his confidence to stand up for himself and believe in his self-worth.

I adored Jimmy and TJ together. These two were made for each other, and I loved seeing them find each other again.

What made this book even better was getting to catch up with all the other characters from the series, especially Jimmy's brother Sammy, as well as Will, Jason, etc. Each character feels like a lifelong friend, and I loved seeing how they were all doing now.

Give In To Love is a beautiful story of first love and second chances. It's heartfelt and emotional, and whilst I'm so sad this series is over and we're saying goodbye to these characters, the journey has been incredible. I'll definitely go back to visit these guys in Astaire from time to time because they are a set of characters who are now embedded in my heart.

"You showed up at that bonfire, and for the first time in a very long time, it felt like I could take a full breath. It was like I’d been drowning, and you reached beneath the surface and pulled me out. And once I broke through the surface, I realized I never wanted to go back under again."

We first see these two characters meet as teenagers during a hot summer day. One is trying to escape all the turmoil and anguish he's had to deal with his whole life but what made it worse on that particular day is his mom had left him and his brother the day before. The other boy was searching for relaxation, but instead found a boy who was a little lost, and sad. He took it upon himself to make the boy with curls smile, and he may have just parted ways with a kiss.

Years later, both teens now young adults navigating move-in day, they are both surprised to find out that their roommate is the one they spent an unforgettable summer day with. From there they have a lot of work ahead of them but it is SO worth it in the end.

This book is absolutely fabulous! The writing is exceptional! Whenever a book has different time jumps throughout the story I worry it'll muddle things, but that didn't happen here. Everything was concise and well noted, all the events prior lined up , the flow of the story was so smooth, and the pacing was fantastic. Oh! And the characters? They are so full of life, and love, and they are just so precious. I just wanted to give them both a hug.

The relationship between TJ and Jimmy (aka Sunshine) isn't an easy one. Jimmy struggles with letting people in and believing people actually want to get to know who he is. Understandably so, but since he builds his walls so high, whenever TJ tries to get to know him better it backfires. He isn't sure how to proceed, but TJ accepts, supports, and cherishes him exactly as he is. Always asking what Jimmy needs, and what he can do for Jimmy, he genuinely listens to what Jimmy has to say when he speaks while also listening to what isn't said. Their relationship is a slow burn but in the best way possible. It's absolutely beautiful seeing how these two men interact with each other, they slowly open up to each other and are cheerleaders for each other's accomplishments. No matter how big, or how small, they are there for each other and that's so special.

I don't want to spoil anything so I won't go into any more details but what I will say is I'm really glad these two got their happily ever after in the end. They both deserved it, and they deserved each other. They are each other's person and they just fit together. I did like the side characters as well they all played a part in the storyline progressing. It was also nice seeing past characters makes appearances again. Overall a truly wonderful book!

Bravo! Bravo!! Perfect!!!

15 chapters in and I’m already in love Tj and Jimmy is just so perfect for each other and Tj really brings Jimmy out of his shell also Tj is such a sweet and open person that just knows what he wants and how he’ll get it TJ is a major green flag with his openness and honesty

Jimmy is so shy and cute I just want to put him in my pocket but I have no doubt that he can be whoever he wants to be the little sunshine could win over anyone even when shy and anxious

In my personal opinion, I think it was the right decision of Tj’s to pursue his dreams because you’ll never know if you might regret it on one day, but then again it hurts my heart that they didn’t stay connected through the five years they spend apart

Sammy was way too protective of Jimmy the fact that he unknowingly made Jimmy feel weak makes me so sad even though Sammy was just trying to protect him it had the opposite effect

TJ on the other hand was such a great support for Jimmy letting him deal with things himself so he could prove to himself that he’s worth it and that he’s strong

I really really enjoyed this story. I have no criticism at all. I rated this book a 5 out of 5 with no regrets at all if you enjoy a second chance collage romance with just the right amount of spice and angst but also peace and lots of love then this is the series for you the books can be read as standalone’s but if you’re interested in the rest of the sweet boys go ahead and check them out
but remember to form your own opinions and not just listen to me
Until next time, my loves…

Rating: 5/5
Spice: 3/5
Angst: 2/5
Would I read again: yes my god!!

Generally fine, but was a little boring because it lacked the romantic tension I like seeing in second chances.

TJ's dialogue was super awkward at times. "For class or pleasure?" "Are you always so reticent?" Him justifying it by saying he's explicitly doing it didn't make it any less awkward to read.

Also, how many times were we supposed to read about Mandy and Drea before they came into the story? Jimmy mentioned them at least three separate times with vague references toward them helping build his confidence.

Part one felt a bit too explicit, fluffy, and went on for a bit too long imo considering it was basically an extended flashback. The first time Jimmy and TJ see each other, TJ just automatically asks TJ his to make him more comfortable. TJ lays out, in no uncertain terms, how he thinks Jimmy needs to be treated to his mother (despite only having known Jimmy for less than a month at that point). Jimmy calmly and succinctly explains his anxiety to TJ then they watch a movie together. Seeing Jimmy and TJ struggle with TJ's job offer was nice though I wish that part got a bit more attention.

Part two was also fluffy and a bit too short. Only getting the tail end of Jimmy and Steven's relationship followed by an expo dump about how the relationship started after they'd already broken up felt boring. I get a love triangle wasn't what the author was going for, but making Steven a defacto villain and TJ the obvious correct answer removed a lot tension the story. The conflict of "Jimmy wants to find who he is as an individual" was fine, but I wanted to see romantic tension. Jimmy and TJ were still in love with each other and didn't really go through the whole "getting to know each other again" part of a second chance so it felt a little dull just reading what essentially was a straightforward love story with a very one-dimensional villain.

Then there was the whole "Sammy doesn't like TJ for how he broke Jimmy's heart in college" which was fine, only it was yet again a very insular conflict that only tangentially included TJ because though he was the cause, the real issue was between Sammy and Jimmy. That introductory dinner was weirdly scripted imo. We get a summary of what was supposed to be the awkward parts for TJ in his perspective, then Sammy and Jimmy talk off screen until they come back mad at each other. The start of the scene shouldn't have been summarized and showed TJ's perspective (his emotions and how much he wanted for Jimmy's family and friends to like him) then should've swapped POVs to see Jimmy's argument with Sammy. As it is, it just felt like a quick nothing summary that ended up with the brothers mad at each other and TJ just awkwardly standing on the sidelines.

But it didn't matter anyway because Sammy apologized the very next chapter making the whole thing sort of melodramatic because there was realistically nothing at stake. If this was a story about Jimmy and Sammy learning to be better brothers, that would make sense. I'm a book about Jimmy and TJ's romance though, the conflict doesn't really feel like it matches up with the genre or what the story should've focused on.

The conclusion was fine, but I skimmed the last 10% because I kind of got tired of the lack of romantic tension.

TL;DR Awkward dialogue in the first half, decent reason for their breakup, not really a "second chance" considering there wasn't any chance involved and Jimmy and TJ because they fell back in love with minimal real obstacles (Jimmy's bf at the time didn't count because he was already clearly not the right person), weird brother reconciliation subplot in the last 15% that was fine but wasn't really related to the romance.

Sweet Ending

The last book in a series is always so bittersweet for me to read. I'm so happy Jimmy got his happy ending but sad that we won't be going back to Astaire and visiting these characters anymore.

I received an advance review copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts are honest and my own.

I really loved this series as a whole and even though I always say second chance is not really my jam when Melody writes it I'm always here for it.

When her characters separate it always feels valid and with purpose and even if it can feel frustrating because you just want them to be okay it makes sense for their journey.

I always relate so much to the way that Melody depicts mental health in her stories and I always feel so seen.

I love the way Jimmy came into himself and worked to navigate his mental health. And TJ is such a dreamboat. The care and attention he gives Jimmy is immaculate. The way that he lifts him up and allows him to see how strong and brave he is, is wonderful. I also love how Jimmy balances TJ out with their personalities being pretty opposite.

The contrast between how TJ treats Jimmy and how Steven does is night and day and without giving anything away when Steven gets his it's glorious.

I don't want to give too much away as it's the third book and while you don't have to read them in order you should (seriously they're great).

These books do deal with some serious topics so if you have triggers (especially when it comes to anxiety and crappy parents) definitely heed the warnings.

I'm sad this journey is over but I'm excited to see what's next.

Give in to Love is the third book in the Once and Always series. It can be read as a standalone, but the story is loosely connected to the previous books through some overlapping timelines and characters that we already know from earlier in the series.

In this book we get Jimmy and TJ’s story. Jimmy is a character that I’ve been intrigued about ever since he was introduced to us as Sammy’s little brother in the first book, so I was excited to finally get his story. At the start of this book Jimmy and TJ become college roommates, but we already know that that’s not their first meeting. Because a few years earlier they spent a few very special hours together, and it’s a day that neither of them has been able to forget.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot of the focus was on Jimmy, and on him dealing with his anxiety and learning to see his own worth. And it felt like TJ was exactly the kind of person that Jimmy needed in his corner. Someone steady and reliable, and with a very different kind of personality. The two of them balanced each other out so well.

I also loved learning more about Jimmy and Sammy’s relationship, and I thought that what happened between them in this book felt very true to their relationship and to the things they both went through when they were younger.

This was a great wrap-up to a series that I’ve truly enjoyed, and I felt like we left things in a very satisfying way. I really like Melody Claire’s writing and I’m curious to see what she does next!

Give in to Love by Melody Claire is a beautifully emotional second-chance romance that tugs at your heart and wraps you in the warmth of healing love.

Jimmy and TJ's story is tender, intense, and deeply personal. Their connection—born from college roommate days, faded by circumstance, and rekindled with maturity—is raw and breathtaking. Their love isn’t just about chemistry (though there’s plenty of that); it’s about unwavering support, emotional growth, and learning to believe in your own worth.

Jimmy’s journey—from anxiety-ridden and abandoned to standing tall in his own power—was powerful to witness. And TJ? He’s the ultimate book boyfriend: patient, affirming, endlessly supportive, and always showing up. He sees Jimmy for exactly who he is and never once tries to “fix” him—just holds space for him to grow.

This book made me cry, laugh, swoon, and feel everything. From sweet first times to emotionally charged reunions, every moment felt earned. The spice? Just enough to melt your heart and toes. The cameos from past characters were the perfect bonus.

If you’re into:
- Second chance romance
- College roommates to lovers
- Deep emotional growth & anxiety rep
- First times & tender intimacy
- Time jumps done right
- “It’s always been you” energy

…Give in to Love is a must-read. It’s heartfelt, honest, and full of quiet strength and swoony love. A stunning finale to the Once and Always series—and one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

Ever since I read Something Good, where Jimmy first appears as Sammy's little brother, who was one of the MCs in that book, I knew he was going to be a very interesting person who deserved his own story. And I don't think I was wrong.

His portrayal of someone with anxiety, and how he struggles with it every day as well as some other things, like his shyness and his sense of awkwardness, it's very well done. And despite all of that, his resilience and the fact that he doesn't let himself be defeated despite believing himself to be weak, I simply loved it. Because he may seem weak, but as TJ says, he possesses an inner strength that keeps pushing him forward.

And TJ... he's simply amazing. And I can't believe I'm writing this, but I think that's my only complaint. TJ is just too perfect: a perfect son, a great brother, a loyal friend, a talented and successful actor and dancer, a perfect boyfriend, a sensitive human being, etc., etc. I think his only flaw is his "intensity," if you can even call that an imperfection.

Overall, it's a really beautiful story. It's sweet and steamy, with some drama. As far as second chance stories go, it's one worth reading. Oh, my other complaint is that some moments should have been more written instead of just being shown superficially, and the "villain" of the story... I don't know if he was necessary, except to show that Jimmy can stand on his own two feet and defend himself.

Anyway, the whole series itself is quite good and entertaining.

FINALLY WE GET JIMMY’S STORY!💕

The last book of the series sees Jimmy Clark brother of Sammy Clark get his HEA!

Two boys meet at a creek and share an earth shattering kiss, no names given then their paths divide until five years later, to discover they are roommates at the same college…

This is the heartbreaking two part story of Thomas Sullivan (or TJ as he likes to be called) a drama student and dancer who befriended a shy, quiet anxious english major- Jimmy Clark who always intrigued him since their first meeting by the creek.

They navigate the perils of a deep emotional connection which lead to a beautiful relationship that was rendered asunder by Jimmy when he had to make a difficult heart breaking decision regarding TJ’s future and how their paths cross five years later to find that connection still remains stronger than ever but Jimmy has moved on or has he?…

The author left the best characters for last to showcase a love that was built on a deep connection between a lost broken soul and a sweet, caring and beautiful soul who brought out the stronger, confident, sassy side of Jimmy until it was diminished five years later by toxic relationships.,,

This is their heartfelt, endearing story about finding your voice and a second chance at love!

I loved the cameo appearances of all the couples of the series, seeing how happy they are and sadly saying goodbye to a wonderful series!

I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR for an honest non biased review.

This is a second chance romance between Jimmy and JT. The story goes through and when they met when they were teenagers one day that changed them forever. To them meeting again at college and that’s where the journey of love began. The big breakup happens in college and you get a time skip. And it shows them reconnecting again after all these years. Jimmy’s character was amazing to me because you got to see him grow. Into a person that he never thought he could be because of the hardship in life he’s had. I do like the fact that he learn so much about himself because he had JT by his side. JT character is so amazing because he’s a loving and caring person. Also just the way that he takes care of Jimmy and is there for him no matter what. And both of them together they bring each other down to earth. Because they know how to calm each other down. And they know how to be there for each other and trust in one another. I love the fact that in the second half of this book, you get to see them start all over again. I love the fact that these two got an amazing happy ending. Because they their relationship. Also have their families with them and the people that love and support them by their side.

Give In To Love - Melody Claire
5/5✨🌟

MM
Anxiety Rep
College Roommates
Second Chances
Black Cat & Golden Retriever
He Saves Himself
Friends to Lovers

I don’t even know where to start but I will say that this is definitely my favorite book of this series. TJ and Jimmy were so much more than what I expected.

I’m a huge fan of mental health in books and to see how Jimmy dealt with his own issues with his anxiety was so perfect. Anxiety can be consuming and to see how Jimmy went through life was a challenge for him but man, he was so strong.

The relationship from their college years to TJ coming back into town years later. I also loved how TJ had a huge impact in how strong and capable Jimmy was. I love first love and first times and this story was well written. What I loved was how TJ saved himself down the road. Gos, that was utterly beautiful.

Also, I loved that we got to see some of the other characters from the previous books. I loved the found family in this book.

There was a bit of drama in the end but you couldn’t expect anything else than that special scene between brothers. Sammy wouldn’t be him if he didn’t challenge everyone around him.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy where do I even start?! I’ve wanted his story since book one. Since Sammy introduced him I wanted to take him home and protect him from the world. But that’s not what he needed, he needed someone to support him while he stood on his own two feet, to grow into his own. Enter TJ- ugh SWOON 😍🫠 I love him so much! I couldn’t imagine a better partner for Jimmy. He radiates positivity and happiness and he just lifts your heart up to read. He provides the exact amount of support in the right way for Jimmy to find the confidence and strength in himself. It is a beautiful love story, one of personal growth, and an excellent representation of anxiety. If you’ve read the previous books you’ll see some familiar faces that’ll just make you feel like you're at home! The epilogue was perfect, a great way to wrap up this series. I'm sad for it to be finished but loved the journey and can’t wait to get the paperback to finish my collection!

✨What to expect:
•College Roomates
•Black Cat x Golden Retriever
•Second Chance Romance
• First Times
•Supportive Friends
•Dancer x Librarian
