Rate this book
A romance of misunderstandings and self-doubt set in a fantasy medieval world.

Nell didn’t like how other people saw her – or rather the crown upon her head. What if she changed her identity? She could be rid of her responsibilities and all the expectations pushed upon her, temporarily at least. She didn’t consider how she might develop strong feelings for those around her, her new friends. And what if she fell in love…

And what if someone else had developed deadly plans of their own…

Usually I'm not into this type of fantasy, and was worried I wouldn't like it which would be awkward! However, I really enjoyed this. Easy to read, with a good mix of characters and world building with romance, friendship and battles thrown in. I would love to learn more about some of the characters, like Elly and Moira to get a better understanding of their actions.
I suppose some of the characters could have been fleshed out a bit more, like Kaspar, Ed and Allys, as sometimes they seemed too positive and agreeable, though of course it wasn't their story and as allies they need to support Nell and Ed.
Overall, I'm keen to see what comes next! 💞
