She just wanted answers. What she got was magical baggage.
Torie Bliss hasn't had a full night's sleep in weeks. Dark dreams claw at her mind, visions she hopes are only echoes of old trauma. But when eerie magic begins to ripple through Singing Falls, Torie starts to suspect her nightmares aren't just memories, they're warnings.
Alongside her loyal coven, her werewolf partner Elric, and a baby dragon with a knack for trouble, Torie sets out for Salem to find answers. The trail leads her to Rowena Blackwood, a shadowy figure from magic's past, and to a secret that shakes everything she thought she knew about her powers.
As a sinister cabal rises and ancient forces stir, Torie must unlock the truth hidden in her hex magic before everything she's built is swallowed by something older, darker, and more dangerous than anything she's ever faced.
Welcome to That Hex Factor, a witchy urban fantasy full of tangled legacies, powerful magic, and midlife courage that refuses to quit.
This last (maybe?) installment of the series has it all! We've got a magical battle of the sexes with world-ending high stakes. We've got shifters going wild and embodying their truest (and terrifying) versions of themselves. We've got a past bad gal coming back begging forgiveness, then ending up being shady as all get out. We've still got the talking and flying dragon (I love Leo), and Torie and Jasmin are being tested in the most fantastical of ways. When their magic reverses, they get inventive during the harmonic convergence and save the day. And there's a sweer romantic ending to this one! I feel like things were mostly wrapped up with the different storylines, though we don't' get to learn more about Torie's son becoming one of the fates or how Jasmin and Emil's new possibly budding romance will do. Alas, our imaginations must supply the rest.
Favorite Line ~ "Everything happens for a reason. Dwelling on the past can only create havoc for the future. All we can do is focus on what must be done now."

Very good storyline. Great and interesting characters. Fun parts. Tense parts. Who done it too. I'd like to have a house that cleans itself! Only three stars because I only got to read the first two pages of chapter one. It was blank pages after that, until the start of chapter two. The same thing happened in one other book. I think it was book 8. Enjoyed them all, other than the missing pages.
I like the way Caan wrapped this book/ series up. Edge of your details and downs. Just when you think it's going to go one way, she surprises you. Her characters are wonderful and I like the way she developed them. I would like to read more about these characters and the surprisingly mischief that befall them. Please?
Poor Fionna seems to take the brunt of everything that heads Torie and Jasmin's way, but all three friends always come out stronger. But the moment that gives you the big 'ah' in this one is those last few lines. Yes!
This was such an enjoyable series! The evolution of the characters, the closeness of the group and the increasing risks presented to the group kept me reading non-stop!
I’ve loved every book in this series. It’s great to read about 40+ something women gaining power and confidence, while being supported by strong and confident partners.
I truly enjoyed this read. It made me happy, sad, angry, but most of all wanting more. What more trouble can this group of friends get into? And Emil, I really want to see how he evolves with a relationship. When is the next book out?
Action packed story and I loved how the whole gang - Torie, Eldric, Max, Jasmin, Emil, Fionna, and Glen - worked together to defeat the villains. Hoping there is a book 10!
How so many twists and turns could turn into a straight line at the end was wonderful. I have fully enjoyed every word. I hope the hero’s in these books carry on.
