Rate this book
Follow Max and crew as they run out of time....Literally in book 8 of the best-selling Max Abaddon Series.

Max finally made his way out of hell—literally, only to find past choices coming back to haunt him.

After clawing his way back, Max is faced with the consequences of his past he can’t escape. He and his band of misfits are about to uncover the terrifying power behind Lilith’s fostered children. As they grow older, they’re becoming harder to hide from a world already on edge.

When tasked with protecting one of Lilith’s oldest runaway children, what seems like a straightforward mission quickly spirals into chaos. Others are hunting the boy, and danger is closing in from all sides.

To make matters worse, the Council has finally found the last piece of King Arthur’s fabled Round Table, setting the stage for an encounter with the Old Gods—an event Max is far from ready for.

With enemies everywhere and time running out, Max and his crew are about to find out just how ready they are.

As with all Max Abaddon books, the characters are fun, though there is minimal character growth. Not a bad thing as their dynamic works for this genre. The action is plenty enough and well written in that it is fun and engaging. The story as ever has a fast pace, and is compelling. I like the series as a whole, and this book is a great addition.

Also as usual there are continuity errors. [It seems every book bar book 1 has them. What's previously written is ignored to further the current narrative. Either its slovenly writing or the author cant recall the details of passed books.] I cannot comment on the spelling etc as I listened to the audible versions. However, there is the odd error where the narrator uses Petros voice only for the ongoing sentence to indicate it was not Petro who spoke.

1. In book one Max gets a wind up alarm clock from his mum. In book 2 or 3 I think, he knocks it off the bed side cabinet and breaks the glass discovering a hidden gate key and it was thoroughly inspected. In book 8 it's suddenly has an undiscovered slot on its rear that is big enough to slot in a book, which makes the clock how big? A book size slot, that can swallow the entire book, that wasnt previously noted before now. And again, how big would that make the wind up clock? And an identical wind up alarm clock is found in 1099AD when he time travels! A wind up alarm clock in the 11th Century! Clock work was not invented until the 14th Century.

2. The Messenger who throughout previous books has been chained to his desk and looked like he hadnt moved in eons, just nips out to get Pizza.

again…needs major proofreading

This is a great story, but it’s suffers from poor proofreading. Misused words, wrong tenses, and misspellings litter this book all the way through. It distracts from an overall good book. This is the second time I’ve made this criticism, hopefully the next book will be better.
