Lincolnshire, 1854. After much reflection, Caroline Lawson has accepted Max Cavendish’s marriage proposal. Yet, their peaceful life on the farm is soon threatened by a series of mishaps and the strange deaths of livestock. As the pressure mounts for Max to make the farm a success, the weight of responsibility becomes overwhelming, with the future of many resting on his shoulders. With events spiralling out of control, Max faces his greatest task — protecting his home and family. Meanwhile, Caroline’s closest friend, Trixie, struggles with a deep conflict between friendship and love and the want of another. Can she balance both, or will fate decide for her? As Caroline dedicates herself to her family and new home, she discovers that fulfilling everyone’s needs requires both resilience and wisdom. Her patience is tested by her staff, her family demands her attention, but it’s Max, the man she loves, struggling under the weight of circumstances beyond his control, who needs her the most. She cannot let them down. But will she have the strength to withstand the trials that challenge her at every turn?

After Wetland does damage including having Max seriously wounded, he meets with his own demise. This book was chock full of twists and turns. All ends get tied up and peace steps in.
I really enjoyed this book, the third in this series. I found it difficult to put down as I needed to know what was going to happen next. It was so good to follow the lives of the main characters and learn of how their lives panned out. It did have a happy ending which was quite predictable but so fitting and enjoyable. I would be happy to recommend this series to other readers who enjoy a good saga set in England in the 1800's.
The third & final book in The Seasons of Change saga all three books were a fantastic read. Loved it when Wayland hit his comeuppance 🙂If you get the chance to read them you won’t be disappointed
