I liked this duology, it was fun, the FMC was gritty, spunky, and unique. I never really fell in love with the MMC but did warm to him towards the end. His motivations were self-serving even when they were typed to saving a family member, he was duplicitous. This story was a little chaotic at times and the architectural ambiance was less in book 2 than in book 1, which was had some interesting Cleopatra historical artifacts as part of the story, book 2 was more about stealing back the artifacts and dodging bad guys and relationship repairing, since MMC kind of really lost a lot of trust and respect from MMC. Still, good solid fiction with romance and some good character conflict and development.

I am beyond moved by this story. There were moments I thought I knew what was going to happen next and other where I said...wait what?...what?...

I was glued to the pages from Start to finish and was very sad to see the last page. With that said the way it ended was satisfying. Thats always a challenge I think. There have been many times that I have read a book and wondered what was going to happen to them next. I know there are some that this was not their favorite series but that's ok! Not everyone is going to like the same thing.

From my perspective however I truly and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the roller coaster this second book took the reader on. Nothing but love for this!

This was a good sequel. It tied up all the loose ends from the first book and had enough plot twists to be interesting. It was just a little...cheesy? At one point the bad guy peels back a mask to reveal he was really the heroines long lost father all along, and I was kind of out of it from that point on.

A decently entertaining duology, but it started to feel a little redundant dragging my way through the same conflicts throughout. I also didn't love the romance because it felt a little too forced and a touch toxic
