Rate this book
Ursula Elwood arrives in Lupine Row, hoping for a fresh start. She meets Marlowe and soon discovers she's the friend she's always needed. A night out at Haven's to celebrate their new friendship, has things looking promising. That is until she meets Blackwell.
Tommy Blackwell, the president of the Indigo Wings MC enters Haven's to meet up with the usual crew and is instantly drawn to the gorgeous young brunette he's never seen there before. When Ursula is stranded in a dangerous part of town waiting for a cab that will likely never arrive, she accepts a ride home from Tommy, knowing she's treading thin ice, yet she has no intention of seeing this man again, even if his scent of cinnamon and leather is intoxicating.
When someone from Ursula's past resurfaces, leaving hints of their presence, she is forced to face reality and seek help from the last person she wants to ask. When there's an incident with the MC, Tommy finds himself needed to reach out to Ursula. He's battling his inner demons as he struggles with the idea of getting close to someone, letting them see past the bad boy biker image and wings he wears. Can he handle the possibility of love, when he's already lost so much?
Another encounter at Haven's forces them to face their denial about their connection. She knows he's dangerous. He knows she's innocent, and yet they find themselves entwined with each other and an unexpected mutual enemy.
Together, they face their enemy head on, discovering who they are and what they mean to each other. Tommy has been lost and forgotten how to fly. Ursula can't remember what genuine love feels like. When complete pandemonium ensues, it turns out that in finding and indigo unkindness, Ursula is the wind Tommy needed to regain his wings.

What a whirlwind of a story! I loved it.

If you like dark motorcycle romance then this book is worth the read.

The dialogue is well written, in a realistic tone that is relatable to readers.

The romance is spicy, thrilling and written so the heat is burnt through the pages. Again, relatable for some of the scenes.

The storyline/plot is well thought out and put together, encouraging the reader to continuously flip the pages to read on.

The story is based on Ursula who moves to a new town with many secrets in her past. She makes new friends and starts a slow-medium build romance with Tommy, who is part of the VIPERS MC.

There are many stories working within the plot keeping the reader busy and making it a book to devour. A lot of drama, heightened and dangerous situations that need to be addressed.

Now, the kicker is the ending. It ends on a cliff hanger, one that will make you want to read book 2 when it is released.

I loved this story.

it's raw, it's real. gritty, spicy. the characters heal, grow as individuals and a couple, through challenges from both of their pasts. there's danger, exciting thrills, and wholesome humor that keeps you down to earth as you watch their hearts on their sleeves. you root for the main characters and cheer when antagonists get their comeuppance in the best ways. the author either did their research well or experienced things no one should ever be enduring. it validated everything I dealt with as a kid and the fallout I still experience, as an adult. there are moments in the book where you get a feeling that it's not just research, it was real, and your heart clenches and you feel what she felt and what her characters felt. for a few minutes, you are the character. it's the best thing a reader is looking for and what every author wants to hear. I'm definitely recommending it and getting the rest of the series and you should too. definitely my top 5 favorites of the month and top ten of the year. I'd read it again. if you identified with Addie in h.d. Carlton's books, you will love the characters in this book. run, don't walk.
finally, I read it as an ebook, and I plan to get the physical copy for my book trophy shelf....

I had the privilege of reading this great book a few weeks ago and I still thinking about it. Loved the story so much. It was such an honour that my dear friend Cece gave me the opportunity to read her first novel. Am I into motorcycle romance now!? Yes, yes I am. Do yourself a favour and buy this book. You will not regret it. And the cliffhanger was “epic”. It has me wanting book two so bad! I rate it 5 stars!

this book was great. I love the FMC she is so strong. Blackwell sounds delicious, and for an MC president, he seems like a big teddy bear.

I do not want to spoil this book for anyone. so i suggest giving Cece Black's book a read. this was a great start her life as an author.

ooh and the Cliff hanger, you best not make me wait forever until the next book.

EXCELLENT READ!

A client recommended this book to me and boy it did not disappoint. I read it in just a few short days. Love Tommy and Ursula’s vibe, some books have too much back and forth whereas the connection between these two was instantaneous! Can’t wait for the second book. I hope we get a whole series on all the bad boys in the motorcycle club!
