Beneath the soil is a world that humans barely know exists.
The warrens are vast networks of tunnels, filled with glowing forests which goblins call home.
Gorgi is a hapless goblin scrah living in the Gesken Warren. When a group of outsiders run into him, he agrees to help them escape his home — so long as they leave his people alone.
What this unlikely band of misfits find together is chilling.
An overworld in turmoil, people disappearing, entire towns abandoned while rumors circulate of demons in the vicinity — all while the goblin warrens prepare for war.
I was lucky to read an advanced copy of this book, and I enjoyed it a lot! The characters were compelling and the mystery of the world sucks you in. One element I especially liked was the subversion of the classic fantasy trope of goblins as evil.
Perfect for fantasy/D&D nerds who like complex world-building and unlikely heroes. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!
This book was so fun! I especially enjoyed the action scenes, and there were some twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting that got me hooked. It was a bit slow for me at the beginning, but picked up a lot towards the middle. I also loved the worldbuilding!
