This comic is odd and beautiful and I did not expect it to make me cry in a good way. Especially not with the murderous child ghosts.
It has a threesome werewolf/human/human magickal sex scene that is almost entirely romantic philosophical narration and psychedelic imagery. "And when a man stands deep enough in a well, he can see the stars at noon."
Also note the murderous child ghosts, one of whom spends the whole book with a gunshot wound taking up almost a quarter of his original head area, go around killing at least four people, but they aren't villains. The two demons, one of whom attempts a minor zombie apocalypse, aren't villains. They're just people. Even Sadie, the bog woman, shows up and is friendly enough with the main cast to show up at a picnic. The only people portrayed as pretty much irredeemable asshats are abusive parents.
