Ok I clearly need to read the blurbs before picking a book...
So, I thought that this book was about Ford and Lena's wedding but it's not (kinda). What I mean is that this takes place during their wedding day and the day before but it's not about them. I guess this is supposed to introduce the characters of the last three books in the series.
It was okay and it made me want to read the rest of the books but that's it. If you want to read this grab it before reading book #4. 3 ⭐

Tropical Hat Trick was a novella within the Hockey Hottie series by the authors Piper Rayne. It was a follow up to Ford and Lena’s wedding (book three) while simultaneously setting the stage for the next phase of the series. It was short, cute, fun and entertaining.

This needs novella must be read after having read the first 3 books of the series, otherwise it won’t make much sense. It’s not actually about Ford’s wedding. It basically introduces the main characters for the next books and since I plan to read them, I quite enjoyed it.

Nice little multi pov novella that is a halfway point in the series. It is the destination wedding day for Ford Jacobs and Lena, and the drama is just beginning! Everyone was invited to the party, that is, everyone except for Warner who was traded to the Fury mid-season, and has a beef with Ford. He is determined to get Imogen to recognize him again and let him apologize. Meanwhile, black hockey stud Corey meets a beautiful woman named Andi from SLC, UT and has a one night stand with her. Old Man Kane has his eye on the Manager's daughter, Jana and would do anything to hook up with her, but he doesn't want anyone to find out about it, so he spends the weekend sneaking around.
I listened to the audiobook of this, and the narrators Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did a great job! My one complaint is that besides the chapter heading, it was hard to tell who was who because the voice never changed.

This novella was okay, but much like the prequel to the series, this is basically just setting up future books. There's a lot of hookups and some connections made on a basic level, but not much else. In the beginning, the addition of all the new characters was overwhelming and I was having a hard time keeping up with who was telling their part of the story now. I figured it out by the end, but it took most of the book to match the nicknames with the players and who they were hooking up with.

I love the fact that these authors always Do these little novellas that catches everyone up on characters past and present. It is a good Segway into where the future books are going and keeps the series fresh in their audience's mind. These little tidbits have me excited to see what's in the store for the characters. Not just the ones that have been hinted at but also introducing characters that haven't had much exposure.

This novella did its job… it made me yearning for more of this series. Told from multiple points of view of characters we met in the beginning of this series, but haven’t heard their entire stories, this novella teases a lot.

I know what you’re thinking… “7 POVs? That sounds like it could get confusing.” Yes and no. There were a few times I had to stop and double check who was matched up with whom, but I wasn’t annoyed by it. It also helped that even though we’re learning about all these new characters at once, it follows the same time line. There’s no time jumps or relapses in time in between the couples, and the novella is only approximately 90 pages.
This was a perfect teaser for the next three couples in this series! It did its job by getting me invested and eager to learn about each of the last three couples. Because this was just a teaser, it didn’t pack a whole lot of open door action, but I’m thinking that the full novels featuring these couples will expand a bit more in that area 😉

This is such a fun way to help prep us for the next 3 books in the Hockey Hotties series and we get to be a part of Ford & Lena's Tropical Wedding celebrations. For a short novella there is a lot going on in this book so be prepared.
I listened and read this book but the narration of Joe Arden & Maxine Mitchell will always bring all their stories to life in the best and sexiest way possible. There is nothing these two don't narrate that is beyond amazing.
Quick breakdown from this novella to help prepare us: There are six different points of view happening in the novel. The new characters are either there for the wedding or there on vacation and they all end up at the same place as the wedding.
There will be drama between Ford and one of the male characters and there is definately a history between them and Ford's sister- OOOHH the drama. I have to say I fell in love with the original story published last year as part of Color Theory, but this updated and upgraded version is a great glimpse of the couples to come in the series and where the stories might lead us.
The Hockey Hotties we’ve already met have been great, but I can’t wait for the upcoming ones. Personally, I’ve been on pins and nails for Ande and Cory’s story but, after reading this short, I know Warner and Kane are not to be dismissed, ignored or set aside and I’m even more keen of reading their stories.

I love everything Piper Rayne bring to the table and this is a short novella that will set the tone on the future books of the Hockey Hotties series. I want to read them all! Warner seems like a total sweetheart and I really want to know what caused the gruge with Ford... Cory is endearing and seem to be a really nice guy. Kane is the adult in the room trying to understand his feelings for Jana.
These books are likely to be the best yet for the series.

What a beautiful wedding
Ford and Lena have a destination wedding. But that's really notte focus of this short catch-up story. I love that Piper Rayne gives us these quick stories between novels. They give us a glimpse into where previous couples are and what future couples we might see. I can't wait to see what Warner has up his sleeve to win back the light of his life that he let go. Cory is new to the team and is shaping up to be awesome and Kane? I think he might be my favorite Hockey Hottie

love the little snippets!
Great introduction to the next three upcoming books. I’m not sure who I want to read about more. I can’t wait to delve into Warner’s departure from Imogen way back when and find out their history, I see lots of angst in their book. Their Cory seems a sweetheart and his and Ande’s story has me wondering how it’s going to play out. Kane and Jana, this is going to be a clash of the titans I thinks! Can’t wait for them all!

Great catch up
It was great to catch up with the members of the Florida Fury. Some of the things covered in this story have been in other books. It was a little difficult to follow because it is told from multiple points of view and it had several instances where it spoke incorrectly from another character's point of view rather than the one who was speaking.
I love this series and I can't wait to read the next one.

I love when we get these in between books of all the characters and sneak peak and soon to be books. Of course it just makes me inpatient for those books. And it also shows some of what's happened with the characters that we've already read like extra epiloge's which is so awesome!! This is just an added bonus of reading Piper Rayne books they give these extra little novellas with their series and it's fantastic!

Written in first person from multiple POV, this novella follows the hockey hotties to a tropical resort for Ford and Lena's wedding. Shenanigans ensue, hook-ups occur and storylines are set up for books 4-6. I loved getting to know the upcoming characters a little through this trip. I also really loved seeing our happy couples from other books be happy together. A gorgeous setting, fun banter, and a little heat are all found in this novella.

It really throws me off how many different POV's are in the novellas of this series. It's jarring to make so many harsh switches to different characters and completely different events. But they do set up a lot for the following full length books! It's not necessary to read the 2 novellas to understand and enjoy the full novels, but I absolutely love seeing this side of the hockey players outside their hockey responsibilities.

I just love these little novellas that Piper Rayne writes. They really break up larger series and allow you to revisit old couples and tease you about upcoming couples. I did grab this one after binging the bulk of the series, so I was struggling at first remembered who was who but caught on about halfway through. This book pulled me right back into the world of the Florida Fury and at this point, I only have the final book left to read now and it will be over! So sad.

This is a novella and it’s a fun/quick listen. It’s around Ford and Lena’s wedding but also stories about characters in upcoming books. Looking forward to reading their full length stories.
Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell are two of my favorite narrators. I love their strong, deep and smexy voices. They deliver an amazing performance by giving the characters perfect voice, personality and emotion.

Such a great sneak peek for the next upcoming "Hockey Hotties" series. I can't wait for the next three books. An amazing series and the next books are going to be just as good. And I love the updates we get from the past three couples.
