Rosa-Morto ou o Fardo da Culpa


Será apenas por saudade que choramos os nossos mortos?
Ou pelos torturantes remorsos?
Um misto de ambos, presumo!

Afinal, porque serão os nossos falecidos invariavelmente “bonzinhos”?
Será por sentirmos que os magoámos mais do que amámos?!
E por isso aliviamos o fardo da culpa colorindo de rosa-morto o que outrora foi negro e vivo.
E assim buscamos redenção numa ilusão paliativa!
Colocamos a cenoura à frente do burro e lá vamos nós — num ciclo intemporal — maltratando os vivos e venerando os mortos, ad infinitum… Amen!…

O que a gente inventa só para não mudar! 😜

Dead-Pink or The Burden of Guilt


Do we mourn our dead just because we miss them?! Or due to torturous remorses?! A blend of both, I presume!

After all, why are our deceased so invariably great?!
Is it because we used to hurt them more than we loved them?!
And now we are easing the burden of guilt by coloring dead-pink what was once alive and dark.

We are seeking redemption in a palliative illusion!
We put the carrot in front of the donkey embarking in a timeless cycle — mistreating the living whilst venerating the dead, ad infinitum... Amen! ...

It’s amazing what we invent to avoid changing! 😜

Uma livraria mágica; a possibilidade de voltar no tempo para corrigir erros do passado...se Yu-jeong Song fosse processada por plágio por cada autor que já abordou essa temática, ela estaria mais falida que o time do Corinthians.

Em "Livraria das Memórias", constrói-se uma narrativa íntima sobre a dor, a solidão e o peso da memória. Longe de ser apenas uma história sobre livros, o romance mergulha nas camadas emocionais de uma mulher que, ao tentar reorganizar sua vida após uma perda, precisa também revisitar a relação complexa que teve com a mãe. A protagonista é uma mulher marcada por um trauma que o leitor vai desvendando aos poucos, e que encontra refúgio em uma pequena livraria, espaço que provavelmente funciona como metáfora para a mente e o coração: um lugar onde lembranças são guardadas, relidas e, às vezes, esquecidas à força. A presença da mãe atravessa toda a narrativa, ora como lembrança afetiva, ora como sombra opressora.

Com uma prosa introspectiva, Yu-jeong Song transforma uma história familiar em uma reflexão sobre a memória, o luto e o amor imperfeito que une mães e filhas. É um livro sobretudo sobre a necessidade de lembrar dos momentos bons para podermos seguir adiante após uma grande perda.

It is a very sad, sensitive, and deeply reflective book. This is not a story about magical solutions, but about grief, guilt, choices, and the very real possibility of continuing to live in a better way.

The story follows Ji-won, a young woman who lost her mother and, seven years later, is still completely trapped in that event. When she encounters the bookstore, she is given the chance to revisit the past. At first, her desire is clear: to bring her mother back. But as the story unfolds, it becomes evident that this desire is driven far more by remorse than by simple longing. Ji-won blames herself for being an immature, distant, and unaffectionate daughter. She wants to fix the past because she believes she failed.

This guilt paralyzes her. The worn, repeatedly handled books symbolize this well: she is stuck in the same memories, the same questions, the same pain. Her life has stalled there. The book constantly pushes the reader to reflect on this idea: what happens when grief stops moving forward, when guilt becomes a place to live in?

One of the strongest aspects of the story is how it shows that not everything is under our control. People make choices. Ji-won’s mother also made hers, even if her daughter was unaware of them or did not agree with them. Discovering what her mother chose to endure in order to have her deeply impacts the protagonist.

The book offers a very mature reflection on emotional responsibility. We cannot change the past or erase the decisions of others. Their choices may affect us, but we cannot spend our lives trying to rewrite history. What we can do is decide how we will respond to the information, feelings, and lessons we carry now.

The ending makes this very clear. The experience in the bookstore does not heal everything, does not erase pain, and does not bring back what was lost. But it offers something far more real: the chance to take the next step. It is not a miracle that transforms life, but a meaningful opportunity to live it better.

There is a touch of magic, but it exists only as a tool to explore something deeply human. At its core, the book is about accepting what cannot be changed, honoring what was lived, and choosing to move forward with greater awareness and gentleness.

It is a reading that invites silence afterward, a book that asks to be reflected on. A story about guilt, love, choices, and the way we relate to the past. Impactful, sensitive, and truly beautiful.

Sieben Jahre nach dem Tod ihrer Mutter fühlt Jiwon sich noch immer nicht, wie sie selbst. Sie ist depressiv, hat Schlafstörungen, Alpträume und das Atmen fällt ihr schwer. Der Arzt, den sie daraufhin aufsucht, antwortet ihr ganz lapidar, dass diese Trauerphase ja nun schon wirklich etwas lang dauere und verschreibt ein Schlafmittel. Aber wie soll das Jiwon weiterhelfen, wenn sie jeden Tag noch die Schwere der Trauer in sich spürt? Doch dann flüchtet sie sich vor dem Regen in eine Buchhandlung, in der ihr ein besonderes Angebot gemacht wird.

„Die Buchhandlung der Erinnerungen“ ist der erste Roman der Selfpublisherin Yu-jeong Song und war in Korea so erfolgreich, dass er schließlich von einem Publikumsverlag erneut veröffentlicht wurde. Die Geschichte beruht, so die Autorin in ihrem Nachwort, auf eigenen Erfahrungen und dem Wunsch, nach einem solchen Wunder, wie es Jiwon zuteil wird. Sie verspricht keine Heilung, sondern will lediglich zeigen, dass auch die Leser*innen mit ihren Verlusten nicht allein sind. Die deutsche Übersetzung verfasste Philipp Haas.

Die Buchhandlung im Roman hält genau das, was der Titel verspricht. Sie bewahrt alle Erinnerungen einer Person auf und die Buchhändlerin macht Jiwon ein Angebot: insgesamt drei Mal kann sie zu einem Moment in der Vergangenheit zurück reisen und versuchen, etwas an der Gegenwart zu ändern. Dafür muss sie jedoch mit ihrer noch verbleibenden Lebenszeit bezahlen. Jiwon willigt natürlich ein und entwickelt eine wahre Obsession für den Gedanken, den Tod ihrer Mutter verhindern zu können.

„Die Buchhandlung der Erinnerungen“ ist ein sehr emotionaler Roman, dessen Protagonistin ihre Verzweiflung und tiefe Trauer mit uns teilt. Der Wunsch, ihre Mutter vor dem Tod zu retten, entspringt aus Schuldgefühlen und Einsamkeit. Dennoch sind die Zeitreisen, die sie im Buch unternimmt, nicht einfach nur eine Möglichkeit, um Vergangenes ungeschehen zu machen. Sie helfen ihr auch, sich mit der Gegenwart auszusöhnen und das eigene Leben wieder als lebenswert zu empfinden. Eine schöne, Trost spendende Geschichte!

Wirklich ein sehr berührender Roman, der nicht nur der Protagonistin Trost und Hoffnung spendet!

Mich hat Jiwons Trauer wirklich mitgenommen, da es gezeigt hat, was für ein wichtiger Mensch ihre Mama für sie war. Gleichzeitig wurde sie aber auch von Schuldgefühlen zerfressen, da sie ihrer Meinung nach mehr hätte machen müssen um ihre Mama zu retten bzw. hätte sie ihr gerne noch so viel gesagt, was sie nicht getan hat und jetzt bereut.

Im Buch wird dann die Mutter-Tochter-Beziehung beleuchtet, was mich ebenfalls sehr berührt hat, da ich automatisch an meine Mama denken musste.

Gegen Ende ging mir dann alles etwas zu schnell. Da hätte die Geschichte ruhig ein paar mehr Seiten haben können. Und abgesehen davon, hätte ich gerne Jiwon noch ein bisschen besser kennengelernt. Da haben mir einfach ein paar Infos gefehlt.

Durante uma parte desse livro, especialmente até cerca de 30%, eu não me senti muito conectada com os personagens nem com a história. Mas, a partir do momento em que a personagem principal começa suas viagens, a leitura se tornou mais fluida e envolvente, despertando minha curiosidade sobre o que viria a seguir.

No final, a autora comenta que essa não é uma história sobre cura ou conforto, e talvez realmente não seja. Ainda assim, ela me trouxe alguns aprendizados, algumas lembranças do que eu já deveria saber. Achei muito bonito o modo como a protagonista passa a compreender mais sobre a história da mãe, seus sentimentos e desejos. O livro nos convida a olhar para a figura materna não apenas como mãe, mas como uma mulher com vontades, ambições e escolhas próprias. Essa foi, para mim, a parte mais sensível e significativa da leitura

O livro me causou curiosidade na maior parte da leitura. Não achei que é um livro entediante, muito pelo contrário. Mas ainda assim, achei que haviam alguns detalhes desnecessários que eu, sinceramente, deixei passar.
Tirando isso, tiveram momentos em que eu podia sentir o que a personagem queria passar de acordo com o livro, ela é do tipo que quer parecer durona, mas no fim, é apenas uma garotinha que se arrepende de tudo.
No geral, adorei da leitura, e acho que vale a pena dar uma chance pro livro (considerando que foi a primeira obra da autora)

A Livraria das Memórias é uma história incrível que mostra que devemos valorizar as pessoas em nossa volta, e que nunca é tarde para dizer “eu te amo.” É muito fácil se identificar com a protagonista em relação ao peso, culpa e até mesmo em questão da família. Me emocionei em certas partes, sentindo lágrimas brotarem em meus olhos. Também achei extremamente lindo sobre os sacrifícios que as mães enfrentam para criar seus filhos. Infelizmente é difícil encontrar livros com personagens que são mães. Primeiro favorita do do ano sem olhar pra trás.
