“I’m falling apart, but I always remember them, the people who have graced these halls with their presence. The interlopers and lovers, the vandals and creeps. The long time residents and the overnight stays.”
Lily House has stood for nearly two centuries, watching as their inhabitants grow, change, and move on. A house that became something more, they watch diligently, loving and mourning with the people who live within their walls, and listening to the mysterious voice that asks if they could do more.
Aella watches her family burn at the stake in fifteenth century Europe. Left an orphan witch at the age of eleven, she must flee the only home she has ever known. Timeless and immortal, she moves through Europe, never staying in one place for too long. Until one day, she encounters a familiar, yet unknown presence.
So before I write my review, I just wanna say I am so proud of you for writing and publishing this book. That is something that is so impressive. I remember when you first started it and you sent me the link to read it when it was super short. I was so excited to see where it went.
Now for the completely honest review like I promised.
The premise itself is so intriguing. I love books and movies that take you through different times but based around a central location or something like that. All of the stories within the house I loved. It was kind of confusing to keep the timeline straight and remember who people were and some of the stories didn’t really have an end. I think what could help is putting at least a year on the stories like under the chapter name? The storyline with the witch was a lot less interesting. I kept wanting to go back to the house. I think there was more connections that could have been made with the house and the witch to make it seem more important in a way.
Overall it was an interesting and easy read, but I really only enjoyed the house part of it. The actual writing and wording was amazing though.
