After escaping an abusive relationship, single mom Coraline Jennings returns to her hometown of Scottsdale, Kentucky after being gone for seven years.
She was just getting adjusted to her new life when Jesse Cooper, her high school sweetheart, shows up unannounced. She’s supposed to hate him, but she can’t seem to stay away.
Single bachelor Jesse Cooper was living a quiet, calm life until Coraline Jennings, the girl who broke his heart, stumbled back into town with her two sons. His world gets turned upside down once a shocking discovery is made.
As they spend more time together, will they get their second chance at love?
This is a tender Christian romance that explores second chances and healing after deep heartbreak. The story follows a couple who are reunited years after being separated—now with complicated histories and a child neither of them expected to share. The heroine is a single mum recently out of an abusive relationship, and the hero is the unknowing father of her first child. There’s a strong thread of grace running through the narrative, especially in how faith offers both characters a new beginning.
I appreciated how Together After All doesn’t shy away from real-world challenges—whether it’s something as everyday as smoke from the oven or something much heavier like domestic abuse. Those details gave the story weight and emotional honesty.
There are flashbacks to key moments from their teen relationship, which help fill in the past, though at times I wished there had been more depth in how their transformation was portrayed. I found myself wanting to experience more of their emotional growth rather than being told about it.
The faith element was heartfelt—particularly the heroine’s recommitment to the Lord. That said, there were a few areas where the spiritual resolution felt a little surface-level, especially regarding their premarital relationship in the past. It’s clear they’re trying to honour God the second time around, but a moment of mutual repentance would have made that change feel more complete.
Still, this is a hopeful story about redemption, family, and love that lasts through time and trials. A good pick for readers who enjoy Christian romance with genuine emotional stakes.
OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK! My gosh it was absolutely amazing & im not lying! I was sent an ARC copy and it snooketh me to my core! I laughed. I cried. Definitely in my top 5 books of 2025 thus far!
This was a great, quick read. It reminded me of the innocence of first love & the strength of women and mothers. Taking place in a small town, it brings back the nostalgia of growing up where everyone knew everyone, which is not always a bad thing. I could definitely see this as a Hallmark, feel-good movie. Congratulations to Lexi on her debut novel, I wish you nothing but success! 😊
Together After All is a sweet, Christian based romance, that centers around a second chance romance trope. The author does not shy away from the messiness of life and the journey one takes when walking with the Lord.
The story centered around a single mom of two boys, who leaves an abusive past, and ends up moving back to her hometown where she encounters her old high school boyfriend. The MMC, Jesse, finds out about a secret his mother has been keeping from him that alters and changes his life forever.
The story is sweet and an easy read. Vance writes about the hardships of being a single mother, alcoholism, and blended families.
I felt that the story was rushed in some aspects. Storylines were written about Jesse’s mom, Nash, and Shae that I feel were not explored completely or were rushed and left me questioning why details were mentioned or if the second book in the series might touch on these storylines further?
Because this was a Christian romance story, I was hoping for more depth and insight into the faith journey of the characters with more scriptural references instead of the platitudes and “christian-ese” used. There was definitely room to explore themes of God’s restorative power and relentless love and grace in a deeper level.
As a debut book and author, Vance shows a lot of creativity and potential to write deep meaningful stories that will be valued by the Christian romance community. I look forward to reading other stories by the author and see what growth and development comes.
This is a very tender heartfelt read that gives a happily ever after vibe. Great for a quick summer read.
This book was so good! If you are into second chance, clean, Christian romances this is for you! My only 2 complaints is that the only real Christian stance is prayer and showing up to church, it’s surface level, if you want a deeper Christian romance, this might not be for you. I also felt that with Shae, they went deep and then didn’t round out her story. We read their convo at the hospital about 3/4 of the way through but the next we heard about her wasn’t until the epilogue. Maybe there will be a book that goes into her story more?
I did really like that there was no 2nd fall out with the characters like in a lot of romance books. This gave a true happy ending. I also like that it talked about the real struggle with DV and controlling partners and how Cora over came it. Again, I really loved how this was a good clean romance with a very good storyline.
Together After all is a quick and easy summer read! It is my first time reading a Christian romance/fiction book and I was presently surprise by how the author incorporated religion throughout the book. To my knowledge this is Alexi’s Vance’s first book and she has a great storyline, however it is lacking some depth regarding the emotion of the characters. Many of the “heavier” scenes seem a little rushed where there was a lot of opportunity for build up to give the reader the same feelings as the characters. Overall I loved the plot, the religion aspect and the characters, I was just hoping to have more emotion considering the topics that were portrayed throughout the book.
If you enjoy Hallmark or Lifetime movies this is the perfect read. This a quick read that had moments showing the power of prayer and the way God’s timing is always the perfect timing. This is a clean romance with nothing more than holding hands and kissing. Im truly excited to see what the second book in this series holds. Congrats Alexis on your first book, I can’t wait to see you grow and write more!

This book was SO good!! I loved that while this book has the "Hallmark" feeling a lot of us love, it also felt so relatable and evoked some emotions within me while reading it. My personal favorite is the MMC and how he interacts with our other main characters. He's such a gem. Amazing job for a debut book, and I'm so excited to see what the future brings for this author!
This was a really sweet romance. It incorporated some real life elements and I really appreciated that. I loved the characters and I loved the story of their faith. I didn’t realize how much I would love relating to the characters in that way. Love a man that steps up and is so in love with the girl. It was captivating and I read it in 24 hours. It had moments that felt like a Lifetime movie but in the best way! It pulled on all my emotions and I really enjoyed it. It was a really great clean and quick read!
If you love Hallmark movies and sprinkle in a heavy dose of faith and overcoming tough situations, this book is for you. I loved the faith based themes in this book. The power of prayer and God’s perfect timing. For a debut novel, I’d say this was a great first book. Excited to see this author grow and read more of her work!
Heartwarming HEA story, If you are into second chance romance, clean romance, faith based content, then this is the book for you! It has a hallmark feel to it that is a story about a woman who hasn’t always made the best life choices but when moving back to her hometown is able to rekindle a past romance. This does deal with heavy adult topics such as domestic abuse, alcoholism, kidnapping, children born out of wedlock & narcissism. The clean romance aspect is nothing more than hand holding & kissing but does mention moans and fingers gripping hair, there is also talk of getting drunk and waking up with a person. There is nothing explicit but it is something to be aware of if you’re trying to avoid topics like this. I love how you get to watch the FMC grow not only in finding strength for herself and her kids but as well as her faith. Absolutely love the MMC! He is so caring and genuine and getting to watch him heal from his past pulled my heart strings!

Very sweet Christian-based romance. Reminded me of a Hallmark movie. Easy to read and easy to love main characters! Loved the chapter length and kept me hooked.
There are so many things I could write about this book but I want you to experience it yourself. It’s a story of faith, and trusting God to bring you through all of your circumstances. Jesse and Cora’s story is a story of forgiveness, of love and welcoming someone back into your life even after experiencing heartbreak. I can’t wait to read book 2.
I really enjoyed this book. It was easy to read and hard to put down. I liked that it didn’t have any bad language. I’m in a book club with a lot of Christian women so I will definitely be recommending this book to them once it’s out.
This book is filled with both hurt and love. It’s filled with finding your way back to God after you’ve been hurt. It’s got second chance romance and suspense. I just wish that the story could’ve been a little longer! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Together After All is a Christian romance about a single mom of two kids who moves back home and quickly runs into the guy she was in love with in high school. This story has a good plot line and a wide range of characters. There are themes of faith, growth, and perseverance through difficult times woven into this story.
I believe this is the author’s debut novel, and I do believe the continued series will be full of good stories. However, it was very difficult to truly connect with the characters and the story itself. I was told everything and shown very little. Instead of seeing and experiencing the heartbreak, the pleading with God, the depth of the relationships with the FMC and MMC, or the few tragedies that take place, we are told it happened in such a way. Things are stated about the characters but you rarely see it in action or played through. A lot of the dialogue or “taglines” are odd and throw me out of the story. For these and other reasons, it felt like I was reading a script of a movie versus reading the book. I would have loved to cry happy or sad tears with the characters, but I was only slightly told about the hard times, not able to experience anything with them.
We are told early on what could be considered the twist in the story for the MMC that he learns about halfway through. Since the truth is known for the reader the whole way through, there was nothing else new or any type of surprise given in the story. The romance is also lacking between the two main characters. What was “hurtful” between the two of them was never discussed and glossed over. I would have liked to see them grow closer together after all those years of separation.
There were other things all throughout that need editing, but I did receive an ARC of this novel so some of those things may be fixed before the final release.
There are nice moments that are enjoyable, like the fishing scene with their family, and the ending was satisfactory. It is refreshing to read stories of this nature, so I do thank the author for sending me an ARC.
I received an ARC of this book—thank you! :) SPOILERS BELOW
There’s a lot to appreciate in this story—especially the sweet romance and strong faith-based themes. However, I personally found the frequent flashbacks and early miscommunication a bit distracting. The flashbacks, in particular, broke up the pacing and might have worked better if they were kept within the same chapters rather than spread out.
Some of the FMC’s choices—especially in the flashbacks—felt a little inconsistent with how she was described, which pulled me out of the story at times. I also had a hard time understanding the Keri/Nash subplot, which felt like added drama that didn’t quite make sense-- seemed to want to tie up an ending for what happened with Keri.
On the plus side, the author’s attention to descriptive detail really brought the characters and setting to life. I also appreciated that the miscommunication was addressed early and didn’t drag on throughout the story.
The faith element was a highlight for me, though I personally would’ve preferred “He” to be capitalized when referring to God. And while I know this might be a personal preference, I think fall can be celebrated in a Christian story without referencing Halloween.
Overall, a heartfelt romance with meaningful spiritual growth—I just think it would’ve shone more with tighter pacing and fewer flashbacks.

I received this book as an ARC and I was thrilled to read and review it! Thank you for this cutesy, quick, fun read. Now to get into the review—
The good: This book is a fast-paced Christian second-chance romance. It reads like a Hallmark movie in the best way and I really enjoyed how the author hit on a few big themes such as DV and the characters coming back to God. My favorite aspect of this book was how the faith aspect was handled. It was a fantastic reminder that coming back is always an option and that we will never be perfect people, but always forgiven.
The not as good: Because it was fast-paced, I felt like there were a lot of questions as far as background and some of the side characters felt not fully developed. I believe this will be the first in a series and said side characters may be getting their own book(s), so plenty of opportunity to grow in that area and get answers. There were also quite a few grammatical errors. However, as a debut novel I feel as though that’s to be expected to some degree, and I didn’t feel like they were so distracting they took me out of the story.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to what comes next! I would recommend this book to lovers of second-chance romance, anyone who enjoys books that feel Hallmark-inspired, and those who enjoy clean, Christian romance.
A cosy Christian romance, with mentions of some important topics such as alcoholism, marital abuse or motherhood out of wedlock. I liked the two main characters, Jesse and Coraline, and the way they're trying their best to worship God and let Him lead their lives as they struggle sometimes. This book is fast paced, and I'd wanted some more time to understand more the different characters and to dig into their relationship with God, which sometimes feels very superficially dealt with. Some descriptions, however, are a little too long compared to the book pace, and it's sometimes strange to move from very shortly described actions to longer descriptions that don't really keep the flow of the story. I also feel like some topics could have been treated more deeply, like some of the mistakes Coraline did : we don't really understand why she did them, and they're brushed aside a little easily - like she doesn't recall them later. However, I like this story, and I think it's a good one to help you remember God's love and forgiveness, especially if you're struggling out of His grace !
This is my debut novel and I hope you all love it as much as I loved to write it! I feel like God really put this story on my heart and there was a lot of prayer involved in the behind the scenes of writing the story of Coraline and Jesse. This story would not have been possible without Gods guidance and grace.
Together After All has a happy ending and shows some real life struggles and situations. This is a clean, faith based romance where the main character heals from her trauma, falls in love with God again and gets her second chance at love.
There will be at-least two more books, release dates are TBD. But I did want to share that Shae and Gemma will be getting their own books and their stories will be explained in them.
Thank you to each and every reader who took the time to read this story. I appreciate every single one of you. :)
I really enjoyed this second chance romance! High school sweethearts reunited years later. Jesse is a really good guy with a kind heart. His heart was shattered whenever Cora broke up with him all of those years ago and now she’s back in town with her two boys. Living so close to him. This one had faith themes, strong friendships, and sweet romance. I’m excited to read more in this series. I would love to see what happens with Charlie too!
💗💗 The breath is stolen from my lungs. She's stunning and she doesn’t even have to try. No makeup on, comfy clothes, and her hair a mess. God, I love it when she looks like this. Just real. Just Cora.
Content - No foul language Kissing only Domestic violence Unplanned pregnancy/single mom Toxic parent relationship
I got an ARC copy of this wonderful book. It was such a quick read! I really enjoyed the faith focus and the clean romance. There was drama and a wholesome feeling to it. I loved the real life situations and the pull back to faith during the struggles. This book is a second chance romance with a single mom and trauma recovery. I love when a man steps up and shows Godly character! I really enjoyed it! Can't wait for more to come!
This was a really cute Christian rom com - I had all the good feelings. The heartbreak of the years lost but then to be able to reconcile together was the HEA ending we all needed. You can feel her writing her love of God in her book and I really admired that. This is a very clean, Christian romance and it was the perfect read to get me out of my reading slump!
I was able to receive an ARC of this book - Thank you Alexis!
Together After All was such a good, fast paced read. Once you pick it up, you don’t want to put it down. Cora and Jesse had the perfect chemistry, and I loved how every few chapters went back in the past to tell their backstory. It was definitely a warm, cozy read with Hallmark movie vibes. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!
A heartfelt redemption story with some heavy topics mixed in. Overall I enjoyed the story but there were some over the top moments that didn't sit well with me.
I also found the pacing and story to be off slightly; it felt a little surface level at times and left me wanting more. I definitely see a passion and creativity for writing with the author.
I had the pleasure of reading this book as an ARC. I want more of her books. This book is absolutely a phenomenal read with great Christian values. It has a good number of twist and a great ending. I loved this book and am excited to read more from Alexis Vance. This is a fast read.
I was so excited to start this book and I can proudly say it didn’t disappoint! This is the first time I’ve read a book centered around God and it was perfect. I got chills reading it, because it’s true; He can do anything for us. It is SO worth the read.
This was a sweet and fast read. Over all I wish there had been more depth to some of the scenes of building of characters but this was a hallmark type book and a cute story.
