She needed a job. What she got was a Daddy with a kill count. Tabby Burrows is broke, drowning in rescue cats, and just desperate enough to take a job from the terrifyingly massive man who never smiles and never blinks.
Duffield Murphy is an Irish mob boss with a soft spot for strays—and a brand-new itch only she can scratch. When this little pink-haired stunner struts into his office wearing sparkling cat ears? He can’t stop thinking about all the ways he wants to play with this sassy pussycat. But he’s never done anything with a woman. They always said he was too big. Too mean. Too much.
Until her.
She calls him sir without thinking. He calls her kitten—and means it. But when her sticky fingers break his one unbreakable rule, will he bend for love... or break them both?
Author’s High and hard on the heat. Light and low on the plot. Dive in, have your fun, then curl up for a little afterglow nap in the sunshine. No cheating. All purr. You’ve been warned.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.
Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.
So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo
dnf. i...the whole cat identity. I had to dnf i didn't care she liked cats but the way she acted as a cat. pushing things to the floor, took a cat nap during work. ON HIS DESK. it was... no. and he never asked her to nap on the desk. that was her cat side... the daddy kink didn't even bug me.
You guys..... you know I'm always here to sacrifice myself in order to save you from reading something you shouldn't. This is def one of those times. I'm not even sure I can write a review that would do this justice.
I want to fuck her rotten and give her a bath and three swats on that perky ass of hers, then cook her a nutrient-dense dinner
Duffield Murphy(42, virgin, mobster) is busy disposing of bodies when he rescues two dumpster kitties (real cats, not a euphemism) and turns them into his pampered children. He decides to create an upscale pet supply chain for them, and also as a place to help launder money. He's totally INSTA when he spies a pink haired girl with kitten ears in his building.. aka... his new assistant. Tabby Burrows(18, virgin, thinks she's a cat) is obviously swept off her feet and a lot of strange and weird shit happens from there. Eventually - they get to an HEA with giant babies.
OK.... I can't even get thru this without laughing. I honestly think this book was written as comedy and never intended to be arousing at all. That's the only explanation. The entire book is just CHEESY.
The sex definitely wasn't good. Hell - the book is only a little over 100 pages and they didn't get to the sex until the 73% mark. Speaking of...... I sat there for 30 minutes trying to picture it in my mind and there's NO WAY this was possible unless he had a pretzel body. She's riding him, face forward ....but his "chest scrapes my spine" and the "couch cushions dig into her back"........ um.... EXPLAIN IT TO ME! The entire sex scene gave me a headache.
I will say - I loved the IDEA of Duffield. He's a "seven-foot ugly mobster with Cro-Magnon forehead, twisted face and hulking body" and he treats his two rescue cats as children. He just wasn't nearly as macho as he sounded.
OH - and don't even get me started on how much this needed to be edited. I usually try to ignore little editing mistakes, but the ones in here were so bad that I couldn't ignore them.
"I have a business to run, a new baby girl to fuck, and now, apparently, an IT guy to dismember."
"Spread your legs. I want to see if you've violated the dress code."
Now look at me, ready and willing to mount the Guinness World Record size dick that is sure to send me to the ER.
I turn to the monitor where Tabby lies curled on my desk, nose to tail, one hand shielding her eyes from the light. The filing job half-finished.
Fresh juice he had delivered to rehydrate me and help my poor little cock-battered body heal from the intrusion of his baseball-bat dick.
I'm sure this would work for someone else, but the age gap was too much for me (18/42).
Also, this interview they have going on is straight-up sexual harassment and an HR nightmare. 🙃 I get that I probably shouldn't take this too seriously because the FMC seems fine with it, but I'm not. It's making me uncomfortable, so I'm going to stop now.
Also, idk if this'll help, but it has a dual V, and there are cats and kittens involved. 🫣
Mink much? It was so over the top and never landed in a particular trope. Was he that ugly? Is she that naive and without any reason fearless? The sister was nice!
really not what I thought I was getting myself into
Spoilers ahead. So I thought I was getting myself into some pet play. I was wrong. This is a book about two people who are obsessed with cats. They just love cats a lot. Also, the fact that MMC is a mafia/gang leader and she lowkey just never really knows? Or addresses it? One would think this would be a big plot point, of her finding out who her “daddy” really is, but I guess not? Also, I think if a girl showed up in cat ears and a cat tail and started sleeping on the CEOs desk, and no one cared, I’d lose my mind. Basically this book drove me insane.
The read was highly entertaining. I loved the whole cat 🐈 theme throughout. The fmc innocently pawed the mmc coffee cup off his desk on the first day they met. 🍞 ing and pregnancy A+++Some of the cat theme was over the top; but who cares it was fun! MMC she nicknamed him big dog I thought he was more of a large Tom cat without the womanizing. I idea that the mmc was a mobster laundering money through a pet store chain plus his secret weakness was the love for his 2 stray cats- too cool 😎

I usually enjoy this author and looked forward to this book but one thing really bothered me. I didn't mind she pretended to be a cat or him being a giant ugly mob boss but what was so disappointing was the first sex scene! That scene made no sense in the aspect of their bodies, what the heck! Her back against his front yet their foreheads together, her clawing his chest while holding the back of the couch? What a shame could have been a cute little hot book! 😔💔
We all love a good work place installed story. Meow is not a play on words. Our leading lady wears ears and sleeps and basically lives as a cat. As odd as you think it would be it really works in the book. Oh male lead is born to believe he is big and ugly and no one will want him for any other reason as the brawn he is. This was such a somewhat sweet but spicy read. I love everything Dani writes!
One of my favorite recent books is by this author. I find her writing style to be compelling and funny, but she is really hit or miss for me, and often it’s more miss than hit. This book has a lot going on. Almost too much going on. It’s very OTT. It’s a boss, furry-love, ddlg, mafia romance, and the author tries to do each trope as OTT as the next. By the end of the story I am not even sure what happened and I am not invested enough in the characters to really care.
When Dani has a book you know you don't want to miss out. Meow is just another great book in a long line. When Tabby needed a job she went to the one place she felt she would be acceptable. When Duffield and the Irish mob boss see her he will do anything to keep her as his kitty. This book was a fast read and super cute. I can't wait for what is next for Dani.
Meh. So I like the two main characters, but it could have been so much better if they had more interactions that weren’t sexual. Or a better way of saying it is there was a buildup allowing them to get to know one another more and, frankly, see more of her feline troublemaking and his reactions to it. Those couple times were cute but over too fast.
3.5⭐ Well this was an interesting read, OTT , funny , sometimes a bit cringe and personally not my favorite. couldn't really relate to the whole cat personality/kink, but that's just me🤷🏻♀️ All in all a short, kind of sweet, steamy and safe (both of them were virgins 😏) Instalove romance without a whole lot of story. more like a spicy story with focus on the spice and the cat personality.
I have a thing for big, grumpy men in books. They are just the best. Duffield here was so good. The man got so obsessed with his little kitten that he couldn't stop thinking about her. Their story was cute and extra steamy! Tabby was okay for me. The whole cat thing was a bit much for me, but to each their own. The story was still good and entertaining. I liked it!
Love at first sight, wow, she's the cats meow. He's a very tough hidden mob boss, and she is very sweet and definitely sassy. They both love stray cats and each other. Protecting her and loving her is his mantra.
This was great! It was insanely fun. The insanity behind the story is what made it so entertaining. This big monster of a man immediately fell for his kitten. She literally brought him to his knees. The story was fast and hot. So so hot. I loved it.
-dual POV -no ow/om drama -OTT alpha hero -no separation -I did not like the h, I found her annoying and cringey, especially when she acted like a cat -no cheating -insta love/lust -both virgins -very mild daddy kink -h(18)/H(42) -HFN/no epilogue (h is pregnant)
I thoroughly enjoyed the smut and banter. The story reminded me a bit of one of my other favorite authors (of course Dani has been a favorite for longer) books by Mink except this book was way steamier! Keep up the good work Dani, can’t wait for your next book!!!
I loved this book but it’s one of the weirdest books I have ever read from start to finish some aspects of the book I was kk with and some I was asking myself why the heck was I reading this book lol but I finished it and in a weird way I loved it
