An introductory tour into the stranger-than-fiction world of genetic engineering, a scientific realm inhabited by eager researchers intent upon fashioning a prodigious medley of genetically modified (GM) organisms to serve human needs.
A very balanced look at genetic engineering of plants and animals, the successes, the failures and the many ways things can go horribly wrong. I liked that it didn't avoid technical terminology like the plague - something which annoys me when reading books intended for the "lay" reader.
