Denishia Boswell is a successful florist and owner of Happily Ever After Floral Shop. Although she creates beautiful bouquets and floral designs to enhance any romantic or intimate setting, she’s having problems enhancing her own love life. She’s in a lackluster relationship that she is ready to give the ax to, but the fear of being alone has kept her from doing so. However, a celebrity client comes her way, and he is after more than just flowers. She finds it extremely hard to ignore his romantic advances, despite her current relationship status.
Ezekiel Wheeler is focused on advancing his acting career. He’s determined to be a sought-after actor that can name his price. None of that means anything if he has no one to celebrate his accolades with. He doesn’t want the celebrity girlfriend or the women approaching him. He wants to be the aggressor. While planning a surprise party for his mother, he contacts a florist to provide the perfect setup for the festivities. The moment he hears her voice, he’s all in.
Denishia and Ezekiel have an undeniable attraction to one another, although her current situation forces her to somewhat deny it in the beginning. When things change and heartache suddenly finds her address, Ezekiel is there to help her pick up the pieces. However, will the ensuing drama force them apart, or will they tread through the moments of uncertainty together?
Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
Denishia's flower shop was doing well, it was her personal life that was floundering. Being in a relationship that was not serving her anymore was getting old, but it was comfortable. She knew she needed to drop that dead weight, but that is easier said than done.
Ezekiel is making his way as an up-and-coming actor, who is down to earth and as real as can be. When he needs flowers for his mother's party, he is directed to Denishia's business. When he sees her, he is immediately smitten and ready to make her his. When he learns she is unavailable, he shrugs. I just have to take her from her man. 🤣
Well, he didn't have to do that after all as Will showed his ass, and Denishia gave him the boot. Finally! Ezekiel stepped right in, and made his intentions known. Then life happened, and the drama began, all as the couple is getting started. But Ezekiel was there with Denishia every step of the way, holding her hand, drying her tears, and giving forehead kisses. 🤩 They fit together so well. I loved Denishia's friendships with Jamia and Jerzey. I hope they both start talking soon, because there is so much that we need to hear from them. Cute read.
Somebody else will was a cute story, and a reminder that you have to appreciate your partner because there may be someone else ready to take your place. Whew, Will learned that.
Y’all lmao😭 I’m literally scratching my head after reading this like ummm??? This book was like STRAW the Tyler Perry movie with a touch of love. SOOOOOO much happened to the FMC that by situation #2 I was like 🙃. I felt like the love was just built around him consoling her bc her life was so chaotic. Then the ending like???
3.75/4 ⭐️ “I promise you won’t regret it. When one man won’t, there’s always somebody else who will. I’m him.” ❤️
Tropes Black love Novella Celebrity actor MMC Flower shop owner FMC body positivity (curvy FMC) Loss / grief / touch of suspense
To start, this book has such a pretty cover. I love a good spicy novella, and the spice was definitely spicing. I liked Ezekiel as a character. He ticked all the boxes. Sexy, black, successful, caring, romantic, attentive, protective, and passionate. I loved how hard we went after Denishia. He saw her, knew he wanted her, and wasn’t letting up until she gave him a chance. He didn’t play with her at all, and I loved that for her. I also loved how on multiple occasions, even with his busy schedule, he intentionally made time for her. I also liked Denishia. She was an entrepreneur, determined, and caring. I do wish she would’ve been stronger though when it came to Will because she should’ve left him long before he popped up showing out at her business. Her friends were hilarious and I loved how they hyped her up, kept her uplifted and encouraged, and pushed her to open herself up and give Ezekiel a chance. Will was a trifling pos and I wasn’t here for his “redemption arc”. How do you, a man .., let a woman punk you into dogging/disrespecting your girlfriend? The woman you claim to love?? And I’m not convinced he didn’t know ahead of time that Sabrina planned to break into her shop and possibly attack her. Zeke should’ve really put hands on him lol Because this was a novella, we didn’t get much depth as it pertained to Zeke and Denishia’s chemistry/emotional connection/relationship growing, and I wish we had. I also wanted more from the ending. I didn’t really feel like a true HEA, since they were still just boyfriend and girlfriend. I would’ve loved to see a engagement, marriage, and or kids
As usual, Mrs. Walters has delivered a masterpiece. Of course, this wasn’t a Hallmark romance type love story. It was more of a Lifetime Saturday night thriller. The unknown sibling that did a popup needed all types of therapy in her life. It was quite disheartening to read what she endured from the person who aided in creating her. It was a relief that some type of justice was served. Denishia was going through valleys and had no clue who was behind her lows. Denishia deserved a man like Ezekiel because he was intentional about who and what he wanted. He was also a working man who knew how to lead in a relationship, unlike Will her ex. Ezekiel took the role of protector and provider seriously. The book title is "Somebody Else Will," and Ezekiel did.
Ladies and gents, this is another magnificent page turner. I was ecstatic when Denishia finally got her happily ever after. However, I get the feeling that her and Ezekiel will make a cameo in a future work of art. Ezekiel didn't get the opportunity to give her a ring yet. The ring, wedding, and babies are what I love to read. Plus, there were other characters in this book who I wouldn't mind reading more about their lives.
This book was such an easy read, and I flew through it! From the very beginning it had that classic “you don’t miss your water till your well runs dry” and “love at first sight” vibes, which honestly, I expected just from the title alone. 🤭
What I really loved was how it started off feeling like a cute, spicy little love story… and then out of nowhere it turned into this twisty urban “okay wait, WHO did it?!” type of read. 🤣 I was entertained the whole time. This was a book that I started and then put down, and I’m so mad at myself for not going back to finish it sooner!😔😩
The drama, family secrets, and little surprises popping up, were addictive, and even though the book was short, there was A LOT happening, and it definitely had me locked in and turning pages like, “just one more chapter…”🤣
This was my first time reading this author, but it definitely won’t be my last. I’m already looking into more of her books because if they’re anything like this one, I’m all in!
Aaaah, just what mamma needed 😊📖 a great read with no dual duty requirements from me. It’s back to basics, my comfort zone, my easy like Sunday morning, like a faithful friend “you can count on me”😊🤷🏾♀️🤠. … Meanwhile, ”Somebody Else Will” was a classic Monica Walter’s urban adult romance with a peculiar plot twist, but you won’t be disappointed. (However, in typical MW style, reading will illicit a bevy of emotions 🤷🏾♀️🤭! You’ve been warned 2x‼️) Nevertheless, I appreciated/adored/respected the alpha male character Ezekiel. His attraction, attention for and ultimate pursuit of entrepreneur Denishia grappled my attention, warmed my heart and delighted soul while I instructed ALEXA, play “old school Quiet Storm radio from pandoria, everywhere”. ..and she’s already curated to play all my favorite R&B love ballads & artist 🥰...let the zero to hero two hour literary journey commence 💋‼️
What was there to not love about this book when you loved everything from page one!!!… I was so happy for Denishia and Ezekiel, and I loved how her pursued her and let her know that he was going to make her his!!…I loved that for her because she was lacking the strength of a man in the relationship she was in!!!… Will stressed my nerves so far out because e could have told Denishia what was going on before all the mishaps!!!…The fact that he was cocky with Denishia, but allowed another woman make him treat the woman that supported him like crap is crazy!!!… Sabrina’s mother needed her soul touched because she was so wrong to allow someone treat her daughter that way and then you leave her there for the taking!!!…Sicko!!… I truly hope there is a story coming for Jamia, because the act that Sabrina unleashed on her like that is crazy!!!…
Neglecting your significant other leaves the door open for someone else to slip in to cherish and appreciate. That's exactly what happened in this story. Will didn't handle business with his woman Denishia because he was selfish, lazy, disrespectful, and a cheater. Ezekiel stepped right in and swooped her up.
He was the perfect man for her at the right time. Their meeting was perfect timing. The chemistry between the two was hotter than fish grease. Ezekiel definitely showed her how a real man should act and treat her.
Lord, this lady went through it. Drama wouldn't leave her alone! Death of her mother, an ex. who wouldn't go away, her friend being assaulted, and a stalker. Nisha was a strong, confident, business owner, and caring woman. However, sometimes you can use a little help. And with Zeke by her side, she was able to take on whatever came her way.
The title of this story was perfect for how Denishia moved on from Will and allowed Ezekiel to love her like a real man should. I’ve never understood the need to stay in a situationship when you’re not happy or being taken care of whether it be mentally, physically or emotionally because I’m a firm believer in the phrase “I can do bad all by myself.” I was glad to see Denishia give Ezekiel a chance and I liked the pressure he applied to get her. He.became her rock through a very stressful time and I’m glad she had him to lean on.
There were some parts of the story that I didn’t care for or think fit seamlessly, but it wasn’t enough to make me stop reading. I enjoyed the times between Denishia and Ezekiel and I also liked the friendship bond between Denishia and Jerzey and Jamia.
(3.5⭐️) I would like to say that the trigger warning didn’t trigger. There’s on screen death of a parent pretty early in the book & is a very integral part of the book. So I wouldn’t read if you find that triggering. I enjoyed Ezekiel as a MMC. He was applying all the pressure in the beginning, and when life happened and he could have dipped and decided it was too much to deal with….he stayed & showed his character. And it was beautiful to watch her being loved, supported, and nurtured through it. There was a subplot that popped up in the last 3/4 of the book that was completely random, and honestly unnecessary. It felt rushed through and I think I would have been ok just reading about Ezekiel and Denishia navigating their careers & her grief while building their relationship.

Had to take a few days to ponder on my review for this book. Ezekiel was everything Denishia needed. He taught her what love should be and how much she deserves it. As for the twist in this book, I didn’t really care for it. I feel like it was kind of pointless and trying to bring in other elements of what her dad was like once the mom left him—for valid reasons. Her ex made a complete 360 after the breakup and his part in the twist. I didn’t care for it but I did enjoy other elements of the book as the growth between the characters and showing Zeke soft side when he isn’t aggressive. I kind of wish we got more interaction between her and his parents, that would’ve been nice.
Another book where an author's self promo had me saving the video to stay up to date on the release. Denishia and Ezekiel story did not disappoint. I was expecting drama, but the heartache was not on my bucket list. To say it fit and helped develop the story even more sounds wrong, but it did.
I loved Ezekiel and wanted him to have a time with Will, but we can't always get the excitement that we want. Denishia, though, was a beast. Once her cup got full, she exploded, and I think we all cheered for that. Her friends were A+, and I hope we see more of this crew.
Another hit by Monica I love her writing and the characters that she creates Denisha was in a toxic situationshp she needed to exit In comes Ezekiel to claim his woman! You will find some drama, a little suspense, lots of family love and friendship All the characters were relatable, a few you will dislike but at the end of the day our FMC and MMC get what they deserve happiness and love Great job Monica, if you haven’t read her books before you need to get a copy today. You can start with this standalone or delve into one of her fantastic series. You can’t go wrong with any choice Happy reading!
I didn’t hate the book, but I didn’t love it either! I feel like the main characters chemistry was forced and although the new boyfriend was everything a woman could hope for and dream of he was a bit obsessive from the beginning. It didn’t give me “ touch her and you die vibes” it gave me if I can’t have her no one will. He was professing his love for her quickly before he really knew her!
The crazy sister was weird too, this part of the story felt forced! And the ex boyfriend and sister connection was weird too

What one man won't do another man will. Danisha learned this very quickly after being in a dead relationship with Will. She accepted job for floral arrangements for a party and to her surprise it was for a well known actor Ezekiel. When he layed eyes on her he knew she was someone he needed to have. The only barrier was she was in a relationship. He could tell that she wasn't happy and deserved so much more. He was determined to show her how a real man catered to his lady.
I really enjoyed this story. Denishia was very independent, but her relationship with Will just wasn't the same. I loved how Ezekiel and Denishia meet. There was an instant attraction, and Ezekiel knew he was the right person Denishia needed in her life. I loved how Zeek was there for Denishia through her loss and even the crazy drama she was going through. In those moments, he proved that he truly loved Denishia and she was going to be his wife. Their journey together was bittersweet with a great support system and happy ending.
Ezekiel was a man who knew what he wanted and went after it! Denisha was indeed someone who he wanted. Denisha was going through a lot and didn't think she was ready to move forward with a man of Ezekiel's caliber. Will made the decision easier. Life just continued to get harder for Denisha. Ezekiel was there through every ounce of pain that she experienced. Although she was vulnerable, Nisha appreciated every bit of the attention. Their love was beautiful. Awesome job!
Denishia girl!! Absolutely loved the way the story depicted you. Strong, magnetic personality that any real man couldn’t help be attracted to. the minute she said Beaumont I just knew you were gonna come across either a Henderson or Berrotte family, two of my favorite series ever!!!! I cried like baby for her, she deserved all of the love Zeke forced her to accept.
Monica, what a good read. It's sad to see someone suffering and not being able to make sound decisions when the mind is not thinking properly. Thank God the saying is true one mans trash is another mans treasure. Thank you for always giving us a taste of reality wether it's all good or with some not so good things. The fact stands though, its always a lesson. The love from friends and family shown was amazing. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
So I thought this was gonna be a cutesy romance between a florist and an actor but the drama was there. There were some unexpected twists, tears and spice. Denishia was fighting for her life. You could tell Ezekiel was intentional because regardless of all the problems that surfaced in Denishia’s life he stood on business bout her. I do wish the epilogue was for a later date. Im a sucker for an epilogue at least a year out. I hope Jamia gets a story. Overall enjoyed reading. I would recommend.
Another bad creation..... I have been rockin with Monica Walter's since April 2023. I read one book, and I was hooked. At this point, I feel like she is a part of the family. Next time I go to Texas, I want to hang out. Lol
I loved meeting Denishia and Zeke and hope to see them again. This was everything I thought it would be and more!! I can't wait for the next release. (Lyri)
Ezekiel and Denisha’s story had my sighing with stars in my eyes and then shedding tears. My heart ached for Denisha and I really wanted for he to have peace and to experience the love Ezekiel had to give her. I enjoyed this read and the way the relationship developed between Ezekiel and Denisha. Ezekiel had no problem showing Denisha what real love and partnership looked like!
I enjoyed this love story, Will didn't deserve Denishia! Zeke was deinitely the manner for Denishia despite his star status. I loved how they were able to build their relationship too. The friendships were just at good, Mia and Jerzey didn't play about Denishia. There were some losses, but the way Zeke waas there for Denishia said a mouthful. Will was just horrible person, he could have said something sooner than later! I hope to see more of Denishia and Zeke!
Den was such a strong woman but when everything is hitting all at once can cause you to be so far in TBE darkness and hard to come out , but she handled it well and with friends and a new male contender who is wanting to stand and comfort her . The story did get me on that plot twist which I did not see coming which I enjoyed sometimes you don't predict the story. I can't wait to see what next !
Another great book and a good read… I became so emotional cause I just listed my brother 6 weeks ago to an heart attack and the hospital that he went to when he got sick was Saint Mary… I think he was trying to tell me something through your writing… his BD is coming up and we have to celebrate without him… so I could feel him trying to ease my soul… thanks for this book it really hit home
I have so many thoughts about this book, OMG, I have cried, laughed out loud and cried again. This was truly a journey of how a real man handles a woman. Zelenskyy knew what he wanted and was willing to put in the work to get it. Thankfully Nishia was willing and open to receive. I loved everything about this book, thank you.
I don't understand how this amazing Authoress continues to pen these fantastic reads.. I enjoyed reading this book and have told my family about it my oldest sister is in the middle of it 💙 I pray that this woman never runs out of ideas for her craft 🙏🏼
Good read Beaumont always delivers with its characters. I feel like some of the other supporting characters had some connection to the Henderson’s. This book definitely summarizes how a man should treat a woman and rang true that what one want do another will. There is definitely someone out there who can love us right.
