If there’s one thing that can’t be denied, it’s Lovie Lucas’s love for the community center she manages. The same applies to the tension between her and Romani Rogue, a real estate investor she assumes is determined to tear down the thing that gave her a sense of purpose in life and affirmed her worth. Lovie is convinced his goal is to rip apart the relationships she’s spent years fostering for a profit, when his mission is to revitalize the center and make it better for the community that relies on it.
Despite the curses and sparks that fly at their initial encounter, Romani is intrigued by Lovie’s boldness while she struggles to remember if she’s fighting to keep the community center open or against the chemistry that simmers between them. Her every instinct tells her to run far away, but Romani’s instinct is telling him something different, because all he sees is a woman worth fighting for.
Lovie and Romani both have trauma from their past that must be confronted before the sparks between them can become a raging wildfire. Trust, support, and comfort are at the core of their connection, showing that sometimes the most explosive relationships can be sustainable when they’re built on understanding and belief in each other, even when the world doesn’t.
Lovie was a spitfire, who loved her community and the children in it. They gave her life purpose, and she would do anything for them. Finding out that the community center that she runs could possibly be shut down, put her in protective mode, and anyone could get it. Well.... when Romani comes to tour the facility, Lovie makes an assumption about his intentions and lets his ass have it. However, instead of being angry, Romani is intrigued by this beautiful and passionate woman. He knows more than ever what he must now do for the center.
While Lovie is bashing his name and his company, Romani is biding his time, and relishing on how good things will be between them when she has to apologize. 😜 The chemistry is already scalding hot, but when Lovie finds out who Romani really is and what he plans to do, it reaches fever pitch. They are good together and enjoying what the future may bring. However, they both suffer from past traumas that keep rearing their ugly heads, threatening to ruin their good thing. Especially Lovie! Girl, this man has done everything except sign over his bank account to you, and you still running? Ughhh.... 😤 It's cool tho, as Romani got her straight really quick. 🤣 Once they were on the same page, it was all love. Good read. 👍🏿👍🏿
Love at first sight? Definitely! They just had to figure that out first lol. Lovie & Romani both had things from their past that made them hesitant to love before they realized that they needed each other. I loved them both together and individually. This was a such a cute instalove story!
Lovie and Romani's romance was sweet. Now I did want to shake Lovie quite a few times when reading this because my girl was doing a lot of talking when she should have been listening, but Romani got her together. I love that they each brought what the other lacked in the relationship. They really complemented each other.
Missss Edwards always does what needed to be DONE! Lovie & Romani are two stubborn souls who need love. Their paths cross when Romani’s company is set to purchase the community center Lovie basically runs. And Lovie don’t play bout her babies. She’s a baddie first, mama bear immediately after. Romani is a business man who don’t play. It’s love at first sight to everybody EXCEPT them. *eye roll* Chile I don’t understand why people fight it so hard. I love how real their love was though. Lovie had to get over her past relationship issues and Romani had to get over his issues with his mom in order for them to really work.
My favorite scene was EASILY Wanderlust. Mercy and Romani are two peas in a pod and came to Lovie’s defense in a such a cute way. Also them schooling those young Black men? Mhmmmm, we need more of that IRL!
Lovie, I was side eyeing you this whole book boo. Cause you were pissing me off something serious. I wanted to jump in this book and smack some sense into you. But im glad Romani did(in a figurative meaning). My man, my man, my man Romani, now I love me some of you. Had me cheeseing the whole read. I love you and Lovie's relationship from beginning to end. I wish I had a little more of their relationship(a date more or two). I read this book and really had my head into my Kindle. If you would have seen me. You would have wanted to see what I was reading. I also love the acts of service that botj Lovie and Romani had. Romani did just the most beautiful things as well, Lovie. I love reading about characters cartering to each other. Makes me feel warm inside. In conclusion(ha), read this book if you want a quick read with a small but juicy amount of angst and a good amount of characters loving on each other.
This title was pretty appropriate because sparks were certainly flying between Romani and Lovie from their first interaction. Lovie was not trying to hear anything Romani had to say and made some bad assumptions about him and his character from the moment they met, but he just took it all in stride and told her to do her research because she was way off base. These two bantered from their initial meeting and I enjoyed it and seeing them both let down their guards and allow themselves to love each other and be loved by each other. They did experience a few hiccups because of fear, but it all worked out in the end. These two were the perfect complement to each other because of their passions and desires of making their communities better and serving their communities. This was an enjoyable read from beginning to end.
Romani and Lovie started out with an enemies tone on Lovie's part with the sparks definitely flying. Both of them were still struggling with their emotions from the past. Romani was dealing with abandonment issues, and Lovie was dealing with esteem issues. Once they got to know one another, I loved how they came to realize that they had met their other half. After working through their obstacles, they found out they could be safe with each other and could bask in the love that they had for one another. I also loved when they catered to one another in the end making their relationship stronger than ever. Great job Ms. Edwards!!
Foremost, the cover model was/is absolutely gorgeous & an ingenious marketing tool to promote “Sparks Will Fly: An Instalove Romance” 🤩‼️I applaud representation for us by us, hence FUBU brand 🤷🏾♀️😉 for commercial sales of fictional romance & or urban romance novels. Thereafter, seeking a feel good, minimal drama, community interest, urban romance novel which transcends financial, professional & personal obstacles, Lovie & Romani’s journey in “Sparks Will Fly” was good trouble experience😍‼️
We often wear our pain as clothes shutting off our hearts and thinking we don’t deserve happiness or love.
Mycah Edwards will provide us with a slow burn that ends in explosive love. Also Edwards surrounds main characters with supportive people that will shoot straight with no chaser.
Romani & Lovie were entertaining as their banter and her antics led them to love. I felt like I could feel the attraction and the chemistry between them.
Mycah Edward's, what a good read. This was a good lesson on how you need to fight for what you believe in. In the end when you take a minute to listen and breathe things take effect and blossom.
This story was so cute. Both of the characters needed to seek therapy for healing; however I liked the way they loved each other. Another sweet HEA story.
