About the author

Phillip Harrison was born in Montreal Canada, and was a part of the Anglophone Exodus when his family moved out west to Edmonton in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. He notes that “the move felt ‘a little alien’ to him” for quite some time”, as his mother’s side of the family had been in Quebec for almost four hundred years.

Dragonfly is his first book of published poetry and in it pages, Phillip takes us on a literary journey through our perceptions of life, death, and the images of beauty we forget are all around us every day. By opening the doors and windows of our own inner self, the poet demonstrates that more meaningful perceptions can be attained through reflection on these notions we have of permanence and impermanence. Having worked in both oilfield and manufacturing sectors, instilled an awareness of the problems that these industries are facing.
