Killer Critics

Rate this book
How far would you go to rewrite your fate?

Indie author, Nathaniel Crane watched his career burn at the hands of ruthless critics, indifferent editors, and a cutthroat industry that chewed him up and spat him out. Now, he's taking control—literally. When a plane full of abused and discarded writers takes off after a literary convention, they soon realize their trip is anything but ordinary. Crane has hijacked the flight, turning it into a high-altitude trial where the guilty—critics, publishers, and industry gatekeepers—must face the consequences of their cruelty.

But as the plane hurtles toward an uncertain destination, the line between justice and madness blurs. Is Crane a savior for the voiceless, or just another villain in a tragic story?

Killer Critic is a gripping, blood-soaked tale of vengeance, desperation, and the price of creativity in a world that thrives on destruction. Buckle up—this is one literary thriller you won’t put down until the final, terrifying descent.

The pen is mightier than the sword

This is an interesting and unique short story, a prequel cum teaser for the author’s Book of Madness (which I haven’t read).

It will particularly connect to writers who feel powerless in the face of both the traditional publishing industry, the cabal of editors and reviewers, and the horders of would be marketers offering to make money out of our books (for them not us).

So some poetic justice is in order.

Unfortunately, this small book is not well proofread and I found errors on almost every page (sometimes more than one). In most cases, it relates to incorrect punctuation - so an audiobook might actually sound okay apart from the odd missing or truncated word.

A Darkly Satisfying Tale for Every Writer

Every writer who’s ever had their work criticized will find a reason to smile while reading this even though it’s a chilling psychological thriller. Roger Huntman blends dark humor with suspense. The ending caught me completely off guard. Huntman is fast becoming one of my favorite authors of short horror fiction—I’ve now read two other books by him, and each one keeps me hooked from start to finish.

An enraged author boards a plane filled with critics and fellow writers…

…On a mission of vengeance. The author, Nathanial Crane, riles the other novelists against those who ruined their careers.

This short story makes up in sheer intensity for what it lacks in plot and detailed characterization. An excerpt from another story is at the end of the book. ‘Killer Critics’ should appeal to those looking for short, sharp thrillers.

OHHH, YOU’LL LIKE THIS ONE!
It’s packed full of suspense with furiously raging storms going on inside and outside the plane. I suggest you strap yourself into your seat to ride this story out all the way to its mind-boggling end.
