Rate this book
Perfect Life. Perfect Lies. Perfect Storm.

Alexis, a provocative sculptor and influential art personality, has it a perfect marriage, a thriving career, and an idyllic life in her modern L.A. farmhouse. But when her husband, Apollo—son of a high-ranking Pentagon official—reveals that an alien infestation has breached L.A.'s defenses, her carefully curated life shatters.

Forced to flee on a train bound for Canada, Alexis finds herself thrown together with the last person she Devon, her childhood sweetheart who disappeared a decade ago.

With the end of the world looming, old feelings resurface, and passion reignites with the same fiery intensity as before, threatening to derail everything Alexis has built.

With her husband holding the key to government shelter, Alexis faces an impossible cling to the security of her current life or risk everything for the person who’s always felt like home.

When It Falls Down is a second-chance, apocalyptic romance set amid the chaos of an alien invasion. This interconnected stand-alone blends steamy romance with sci-fi action and a dash of horror, while exploring themes of survival, trauma, toxic love, and the courage it takes to choose happiness.

I feel like this book was long for no reason. so much happened but like nothing at all at the same time and I understand we’re not supposed to like her husband, but she was going to cheat on him regardless. even if he was an amazing husband, she was going to cheat with Devon anyway because that is her soulmate. I feel like the progression of the story was kind of muddled and it ended very abruptly so we didn’t get closure for a few of the plot lines, like destiny being devon’s child and apollo supposedly being an amazing dad but he gave up immediately at the end and just never talked to her again? the doctor disappearing? some of the bulk of this story could’ve went to expanding on those things
