THEY CAME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY - impossibly brutal creatures, raining down from the skies, seemingly indestructible, tearing the world apart, leaving the remaining survivors of earth huddled together...in hiding...until they can think of a plan to stop these beasts.
A good book with great worldbuilding and enjoyable leading characters. It was fun seeing Thorn and Tommie's stories intersect and eventually cross paths. Enjoyed learning about these mysterious creatures that attack and I enjoyed the survival aspects of the story.
My only real negative is that I didn't really have an attachment to a lot of the other supporting characters that end up joining Thorn and Tommie in the camp and being part of the big battle. With each new name, it was hard remembering them all and I didn't feel anything if anything bad happened to any of those characters.
Overall, an enjoyable book and I'm excited to read the next one.
Also, fun fact, the author of They Came in the Middle of the Day (H. Gilleand), her husband Dave is a good friend of mine. Thanks again Dave for recommending this book. I enjoyed it.
