"Rocky Anderson is a Vakutan warrior. Seven feet tall, red scales, purple eyes. He’s strong enough to lift a car and honorable enough to protect you with his life. But yes, to answer your question, he is an alien."
"He’s an alien! What am I supposed to do? Bring him home to meet my parents? ‘Hey, Mom, Dad, this is Rocky. He’s from another planet, but don’t worry, he’s loaded!’"
Yay for another Rakutan romance! Great world building and wonderful characters. This story was such a fun adventure and wasted no time and was fast-paced from the start. I loved both Vicki and Rokkon. Vicky signed up for a billionaire matchmaking opportunity- she never expected to learn aliens were real and for one to be her match in the process. Her reactions were realistic and understandable (though I'm sure us monster lovers would have had a different reaction *wink*). I liked that she didn't back out when she found out. She's lonely, had been parentified into caring for her siblings, and now that that's done, she wants a chance to live her own life. The money will allow her aging parents to be cared for and she can finally follow her own dreams- and maybe meet someone special. I was glad for her reasons for taking the opportunity. The money she'd get at the end of a six month trial wasn't for selfish reasons, and being told that Rokkon was also lonely and sad was as much a motivation to take that chance. After caring for everyone else, it was finally her turn to give up control and be cared for. If their first interaction in the limo was any indication- and he wasn't even physically there!- she was in for something special. 5 stars.

How to conquer loneliness together 🥰

I smile against his chest, my fingers playing with the edge of one of his scales. "Good," I echo. "Because I’m not going anywhere."
You gotta love yet another kickbutt Vakutan warrior out to save the world from the Grolgaths who act truly evil. Vicki accepts a relationship contract to get away from the demands of her family and submit 😉 to Rokkon, never realizing it would fulfill their jalshagar bond and her need to be taken care of for once. Expect a whole slew of danger and plenty of steam to stir the blood (and other things 😁). I have found this series to be a non stop ride into adventure every time.

This was a good story to read, lots of steam and lots of humour. There is an element of danger during the story where Vicki‘s mother and father targeted by the local hoodlum who wants their land that has been in the family for generations, but when Vicki signs of contract to become the wife of an alien billionaire, she didn’t realise how her life was going to change. Rokkon an alien from a different time and planet, he is a Vakutan warrior, but he doesn’t realise when he meets Vicky that she is his fated mate and jalshagar, his soulmate. These two get along so well and conquer the evil that tries to come between them and end up having a happily ever after.

Athena has done it again!! She just keeps getting better and better at this series. I loved every moment of this book. The chemistry is gripping and steamy. The way Rokkon and Vicki interact is so much fun to read. As they get to know one another and Rokkon has become the person she needed in her life. He takes control and makes decisions so she doesn't have to always be the strong one and stressing about things she has no control over. He grounds her in ways she needed the most as well give her the confidence in herself that she so needed. Vicki becomes the one person that Rokkon can count on to be in his corner and to just be the safe place he can come home too. I loved every single moment of this story and cannot wait for the next one!!!

This book starts out with a lot of spice from the get go. It is a dom/sub relationship and has elements of BDSM.

Someone to Care For.
The story jumps right into action dancing around the time travelling alien idea. I like the pizazz that Vickie and Rokkon brought to the plot as only a human/alien/s/D could. The fast pace of the story with very personal family touches made it hard to put the book down.

Too much spice, no real plot.
I really wanted to like this. I understand a lot of people read this series for the spice. Well you have that in spades in this one. I will probably try at least one more book in this universe and then decide if I will continue with the series.

The author has given us a heartwarming story that pulls us into the lives of Rokkon/Rocky and Victoria/Vicki. The fast-paced story keeps us turning the pages with instant connection, secrets, danger, action and steam.
