Grey After living 28 years in the UK in exile from my homophobic grandparents, I’m at a loose end when my long-term sub and partner caves in to family pressure and marries for convenience. My grandparents just passed and my twin brother asks me to come back home to Sydney, Australia, so he can visit a potential sub in the US, while I take care of the house, the cat, and his business. As a Dom, without a sub and wanting a boyfriend as well, (yes, I’m verse and want the best of both worlds) I find myself working a coffee van outside an LGBTQ+ friendly motorbike workshop and find the owner is an un-owned sub. How lucky am I? But when I find my new sub + boyfriend is keeping secrets, should I take advantage of the contract we have that allows me, as his Dom, to interfere in his business – or will it backfire? When my brother tricks me into signing a stack of papers so I can represent his business at a franchisee meeting, I am also forced to confront my own demons over my grandparents’ disownment of me so long ago. Oliver After months of blue balls, – yes, as a sub I need permission, and I don’t have a Dom – I find the hot guy setting up a barista van outside my mechanics business might be the answer to my desperate prayers. But with my business on the brink of being controlled by others, my fears get the better of me and I can’t be honest with my new combination Dom/boyfriend even though our contract demands it. When a business deadline looms, and I see him leaving a pub with another man and he doesn’t go home that night it throws me into a tailspin of panic and depression. Have I trusted the wrong man?
I’m Felton Kingsley, and I love writing contemporary M/M romance novels with characters that feel like real humans, and are relatable, strong, authentic, sexy, and range from vanilla to very kinky.
My passions are M/M romance novels, LGBTQIA+ rights, Auslan, and I am equally happy working with my hands as I am writing novels and have endless curiosity and energy.
This is my first Felton Kingsley novel and I will definitely be looking for more especially if they sound as scorching as this one was. I am glad that more authors are setting their books in places that are not the US like this one which is set in Australia. I also like that both main characters have the same attention to detail in the writing of their characters and life stories. The way that Kingsley has woven the two stories together is very well written. I also like that the relationship is boyfriends as well as sub/dom as it made the story more realistic for me. I also like that neither of them is a millionaire which is a trope that is bit too common lately. These are regular guys working towards a relationship of both types and it’s a great read.
WOW I do not think I have ever read a book quite like this one...
Grey is on the rebound. He came out as gay and lost most of his family for it. He has a brother and they kind of kept in touch but Grey had nothing to do with his grandparents who wrote him off when he came out. Both have died, Grey's former partner gave in to pressure himself and left Grey to marry a woman. But he was more than Grey's partner he was also his sub. Now Grey is back home and trying to figure out his life. His twin asked him to come home to take care of their place so he can travel and meet a possible sub for himself. He will be running a food/coffee truck while home to give him something to tide him over till he decides what to do next.
Oliver is a sub who is without a Dom. He has been keeping himself in check for months and is ready to explode. He needs permission from a Dom but life has been getting in the way of finding one. He is co owner of a shop, but Oliver is in over his head because his other co owner is very sick and may not live. He has been out of work for months and Oliver is trying to keep the business solvent and still paying the co owner even though he is going no work. Oliver needs financial help and so far no banks are willing to help him. He sees a new coffee truck parking nearby and can tell right away this man is a Dom, but can he be Oliver's Dom.
How long will it take for Oliver and Grey hit it off? Does Oliver's desperation make things move faster than normal? Why does Grey's brother make him sign so many papers? Does Grey read everything he signs? Does Oliver read everything he signs? Does Grey ever forgive his grandparents? Does he appreciate all they have done for him and his twin? Does Oliver ever share his financial issues with Grey? Does Grey already know?
These "two" are so similar it is interesting. I did have some issues with Grey and what he kept secret but I also know why he did it. I think he was forgiven a little too quickly but I also think that is part of the dynamic they have. I am certainly looking forward to the next in the series.
BDSM, motorbikes and coffee - what else could you need?
I really enjoyed this book. I don’t know much about BDSM but if the respect and care for each other is really anything like in this book, I wish I had been more adventurous in my younger days.
I loved the two (four?) main characters in this book. The needy sub and the stern Dom, the two men loving each other when not in scene, as well as the Dom recognising when he was needed and taking charge pressed all my buttons.
I enjoyed the story underlying the bdsm in this book, and although humiliation is not my normal taste, it was so obvious that it was what this sub needed that it was a delight to read.
My expectations were exceeded especially for a first time author. Slow start with intro and building of characters and setting. Well written and detailed but not bogged or boring. The detail for anyone not knowing about kink helps beyond compare and the characters just grow. With so much going and the misunderstandings and the final just wow. Enjoyed and can’t wait for more! Who’s next????
This steamy and emotionally layered romance delivers a powerful blend of kink, vulnerability, and heart as two men navigate trust, secrets, and second chances in the vibrant heart of Sydney’s LGBTQ+ scene.

Follow one man journey into finding the man for him. He is used to being put on by his grandparents who did not understand his true needs. Life may change when they die so follow his journey
This story is definitely only possible in romancelandia.
Oliver is a sub who is into humiliation/degradation. Not just "slut" but also "you're worthless" and that kind of stuff.
He's had a Dom/sub arrangement with a guy named Darryl. Darryl doesn't want to be in a boyfriend relationship. But they lived together, basically like roommates with benefits. One day, Oliver comes home from work and Darryl has moved out. Oliver now has a problem, because he can only cum on command. He needs a Dom STAT.
Meanwhile, Grey is in the area for at least the next month, running his brother's food truck business and housesitting. The food truck is parked next to Oliver's motorcycle repair shop. And Grey happens to be a Dom who enjoys humiliating subs. And it just so happens he recently broke up with his last sub/boyfriend. This is set in Australia, but Grey lives in the UK. But it just so happens the house he was renting with his ex was put up for sale and he's actually a super hot personal trainer who can work anywhere. It couldn't have worked out better.
So they meet each other when Oliver gets coffee at the food truck. They end up agreeing to not just Dom/sub arrangement, but also dating as a real relationship.
Oliver does have another problem going on in the background. He has a business partner who was diagnosed with dementia and the man's wife needs to sell his share of the business. If Oliver can't come up with the money, she'll sell it to a stranger. Oliver is worried about who will end up owning the other half of his business. Oliver doesn't tell Grey about it or ask for money, but Grey sees his mail and figures it out.
Grey's backstory is that he is from the area (in Australia). His parents died, and he and his brother had gone to live with their grandparents. The grandparents kicked Grey out when he came out to them. He left Oz to live in the UK. He still talked to his brother but never spoke to the grandparents again. His brother is also gay, but learned from that experience to never come out to them, so they never disowned the brother. Now the grandparents are dead. Grey's brother tells him that the grandparents had wanted Grey's forgiveness, but could never ask for it because Grey wouldn't talk to them. Grey is skeptical. It seemed very easy for them to make him a homeless teen overnight when he came out, he doubts they really cared about him or ever really changed in their hearts.
Grey and Oliver sometimes communicate with each other by playing songs with the appropriate lyrics, which was a little strange. But sometimes they have actual conversations with their voices, so I guess it's ok.
Oliver thinks of Grey -and Grey thinks of himself too - almost as two different entities: Grey the boyfriend and Sir the Dom. Oliver thinks a lot about whether he's looking at Grey or Sir. It was a little too much.
2.5 stars I had to take some time to think about how to describe this. This book shone whenever the main characters got their kink on. Not all of it is my cup of tea but the scenes were consistent and hot and I enjoyed that part of the story. I was not so happy with some of the rest. Some of the conflicts felt very artificial and unnecessary (drama with the grandparents, silence about financial troubles). I don't like it when all the drama is a simple case of not communicating properly. I felt like the writing was repetitive and oddly formal at times, while a lot of the conversations felt stilted and unnatural. All of that was way less prevalent in the kinky scenes though which must be why I enjoyed them most. Both characters at times referred to different aspects of their personality as quasi independent beings and it really got ridiculous in the end. Maybe that's a me thing but it properly weirded me out and I got so annoyed by it. Despite all that I really liked the world this author has built with a lot of interesting characters that will apparently be featured in future books of this series.
Thank you for the book, here is my honest opinion: This is such a great premise. Grey and Oliver are super easy to root for and I enjoyed a lot about their story. The author delivers some authentic emotion, as both characters are on their own and struggling. Grey has had a nightmare of a break up and is now starting over without a sub. Oliver is a sub without a Dom, struggling to keep his business afloat on his own. It’s well written and I especially enjoyed the chemistry which fuels some pretty good spice. It is long, too long for me anyway. A lot of the personal drama didn’t feel authentic, or at least felt easily avoidable. I’m also really not a fan of miscommunication as a plot device and that is definitely a big part of Grey and Oliver’s relationship. So, honestly a bit hit and miss but I liked the characters and would read definitely more from this author.
3.75⭐️ 3🌶️ Overall, this was a fun read, but the middle started to get slow and long. The kink was good, I am a huge fan of humiliation and degradation. I also enjoyed that these two were older MCs and they had chemistry. It did tend to get a little long and repetitive in the middle. I feel like there was too much description around the drama that was in the story and it seemed to be dragged out in the middle. I also found it hard to distinguish between Sir/ Grey times so I had to focus more closely on what I was reading. I am still very curious to see how the other books in the series play out.
Show Respect by Felton Kingsley is an emotional, character-driven romance that balances heat with heart. Grey’s return to Sydney after years of exile sets up a powerful story about reclaiming identity, forgiveness, and second chances. I loved the dynamic between Grey and Oliver their Dom/sub relationship felt consensual, layered, and grounded in trust rather than just chemistry. The business drama added tension without overshadowing the romance, and Oliver’s vulnerability made him especially compelling. While the miscommunication was frustrating at times, it heightened the emotional payoff. A steamy yet heartfelt MM romance about love, respect, and finding home.
The author does a wonderful job of giving us two characters in Grey and Oliver who know about being Doms and subs but have some trouble working out just how to have that relationship with each other. Both are in rather delicate places emotionally and there's lots of stuff going on with their businesses (and in Grey's case with his brother and the hold his deceased grandparents still have on him) so trust and communication are initially lacking between these two. Fortunately, they figure things out. I really enjoyed this new author and will definitely be reading Kingsley's next book.
This was a great story of coming home and finding a path to understanding and forgiveness while building something new and better. It was a beautiful story I enjoyed reading seeing the growing relationship and even though it was a quick romance it made sense for these two men who were older and understanding what they wanted in life. I would not recommend this book if you are not into degradation and humiliation kink as this book contains a lot of it as part of the character dynamic. My only real complaint was the number of typos I found which is why this story didn’t rate higher for me.
The blurb intrigued me so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved the respect and care Grey and Oliver both have for one another both while in a scene and just living their everyday lives. They were perfect for each other as one gave the other exactly what they need.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book by a new to me author. Great characters development allowing us to really get to know them. Plenty of heat with the dom/sub element as well as a well thought out intriguing storyline that kept me hooked until the end!
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review
I've never read one so well described as two men, four characters. It's a great story, I felt Oliver was a little stilted, however, being the sub he is, it's understandable. As a new author, I'll be watching for book two.
This had some promise in terms of storyline, but the non existent proofreading/editing made it a huge chore to read. I skimmed to the end. Disappointing.
