Christmas Bank Heists: A Harlequin Second Chance Suspense Romance

On the trail of a criminal gang…

He finds a second chance at love

Leyton Falls, Colorado, would be a charming place to spend the holidays—if FBI special agent Sheldon Montgomery hadn’t tracked bank robbers to the tiny town. When a heist spirals into a hostage situation, police officer and negotiator Kelli Burkett arrives on the scene. Sheldon swore off relationships after his divorce and Kelli is still grieving her husband’s death, but there’s something stirring between the two… Then Kelli’s sister is abducted, and there’s no time to explore what might be if they’re going to save Christmas from tragedy.

This was quite possibly one of the worst books I’ve ever read, and the only reason I did not DNF it was because I wanted to be able to accurately write a review.

When I say this is the epitome of a romance book written by a man, I mean that wholeheartedly. The author never heard the phrase showed don’t tell, the amount of detail he managed to fit in here is almost impressive given that it was only 200 pages. While the plot itself was relatively interesting, I could have done without the entire entirety of the romance because it added nothing and was just painful to read through.

I would only recommend this to people who either had nerves of steel, or have never experienced rage in their life.

The author talks about so many random hairstyles every time he introduces a character. It is like he is looking at a salon book of hair cuts and just picking one out every time he needs one.
