Buddhism for Beginners is an exceptional introduction into opening my mind. I read the eBook once to get an overview and have now started over to begin using some of the practices in my daily life.

I was looking for a starting point; not something that would overwhelm me with deep history and practices I may not understand yet. This book is so helpful at this time in my life! Highly recommend!
5/5 ⭐️ — Buddhism for Beginners by Sophia Shell This was such an incredible and grounding read. My fiancé recommended it to me, and I’m so glad he did. It was easy to follow but still packed with meaningful insight and practical wisdom. I’ve been going through a hard time, and this book felt encouraging and supportive in a really gentle way. It emphasizes mindfulness, awareness, and self-reflection, and I loved that it included prompts and small practices you can actually apply to your life. It’s the kind of book I’ll keep on my shelf and return to when I need a reset or a reminder to slow down. Truly a 5 out of 5 for me.
This was a really, really great book. It's a practical approach to some Buddhist ideas which really resonate with me. I'm using some of the ideas from this in my daily life, and I'm calmer, happier, and more productive. It's not going to fix all of your problems, but it may help you rethink some of your problems in a more productive way. This book will not give you a history lesson on Buddhism. It's really about a philosophy, a shift in mindset, and some simple practices.
It answered questions and explains in easily digest able manner
Really good book. If your curious and what a basic understanding of Buddhism, this is the book for you. It not only explained things quickly and efficiently, it was inspiring as well. The last chapter gives you step by guide to help you if do not know how or need a little confidence in starting. I will definitely look to see what other books this author has available.
Provides a solid overview and a kick start to open up to a practice. I wanted to review the basics before I start a daily reader I have, and this was great for that. The book concludes with helping you design a court week practice meant as a starter but it would also make a good interlude if a practitioner was feeling spiritual fatigue and needed to shake up a their present practice for a bit to freshen their outlook.
I’ve tried Buddhism books before. They always drag me down with the history and beliefs. This is just the techniques they use. Mindfulness and how to self talk, staying present. A lot of good advice for keeping calm and not letting the world get to you
