James is living the dream. He has a great and successful career, two wonderful teenage boys, and married his college sweetheart. Together they have an impeccable and nostalgic life in northern Florida where the emerald coastal paradise is only footsteps from their back porch. But, unfortunately, no one is immune from tragedy and his life and world are turned upside down by unforeseen circumstances that cannot be erased or undone, but only accepted.
Sarah is a transplant from the Midwest and has also experienced severe tragedy in her life. She decides to settle in with a fresh start in the warm and welcoming scene from her favorite childhood vacation spot; this is a step towards a way forward. One afternoon, a chance encounter brings both of their lives together. Their meeting seems to be a predetermined fate that interweaves their paths to one and other.
The question becomes will these two individuals who are both so similar and yet so different be able to move past their histories of hurt and into the next chapter of their lives? And if so, will they make the voyage together, both with and for each other as life moves them forward? Fate has a funny way of making circumstances work out when we are ready and somewhere on their individual journeys which intertwine, they will come to realize how they both need each other more than they ever could have realized, and what can be found just beyond the sunset.
