You’ve probably heard of the brilliant Let Them Theory…which was Mel Robbins’ idea that we should just let people do what they want and stop trying to control them & everything in our lives. It’s a great theory, and honestly, there’s so much depth and wisdom in this thoughtful theory but it hit me sideways when I first heard of it in 2023 and felt the desire to dig into this concept.
Here’s the Let Them only gets you so far. It tells you what to do with people, but it doesn’t tell you what to do with your heart.
What about the times when letting them walk away leaves you feeling abandoned? Or when letting them make bad choices breaks your heart?
What about when they don’t provide, they don’t love you the way you need, or they don’t see your worth?
That’s where Let Him comes in.
Because at the end of the day, people are going to do what they want. But God? He is steady. He is trustworthy. He is in control when everything feels like chaos. Let Him is about shifting your focus from what people are doing to what God is doing.
This book isn’t about throwing your hands up in frustration and resigning yourself to disappointment. It’s about throwing your hands up in surrender—to a God who is working all things together for your good. It’s about trusting Him in the waiting, the heartbreak, the uncertainty, and the healing.
If you’ve ever felt tired of trying to fix, force, or figure things out on your own—this book is for you. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to hold on too tightly, to chase things that were never meant for me, to wonder why God wasn’t answering in my timing. But I’ve also learned the peace of letting Him. And I want that for you, too.
So take a deep breath. Unclench your fists. And let’s walk this journey together.
