A HAUNTING TALE OF TWO BEST FRIENDS WHO UNCOVER A CHILLING PAST INSIDE THE DARKNESS OF A HOUSE THAT HIDES SOMETHING dark and sinister and like all houses they have a story and a past. Suddenly the house of their dreams slowly becomes the house of their nightmares. Some say the house made Laney do what she did, others say possession or a demonic entity.
Timothy Jeter, born June 30, 1976, in Pensacola, Florida, is an American author and musician whose creative journey is driven by imagination, persistence, and a love of storytelling. He began writing seriously in 2020, starting his first novel over the course of four years. Though that project was set aside unfinished, it sparked new ideas and led him to complete another manuscript within a year. After discovering how accessible self-publishing could be, Jeter moved forward and released The Dogwood Curse through Amazon. Shortly thereafter, he completed and published his debut novel, The House of Something Witchy, releasing it just months after The Dogwood Curse, both in 2025. Jeter writes with the goal of sharing his thoughts and words with the world and plans to continue writing for as long as it takes to reach readers who connect with his work. While his tagline is “a new face of horror,” he does not strictly define himself as a horror author. Instead, his stories lean toward soft horror, blending elements and music soundtracks while you read in suspense and thriller to create atmospheric and thought-provoking narratives.
The House of Something Witchy puts two girls into one of the most haunting pieces of true crime history. YouTube sensation Mercedes along with her best friend Laney find themselves in a house with a history that most people know…10050 Cielo Dr. The house quickly turned from Mercedes’ dream mansion into a true nightmare. This book is horror and paranormal with a true crime twist and I loved it!
So, I’m halfway through this book and my old, second hand kindle decides to glitch sending me to the ‘about the author’ section. It’s a fascinating read and you realise just how much of the author is in the novel. You’ll also find out that the band ‘Terrific Kid’(author’s musical project) that’s mentioned in the book has an album out and it’s an absolute gem! I played it whilst reading the last couple of chapters and the whole experience was elevated. The emotionally charged music coupled with the horrific ending ( that you know is coming and getting excruciatingly closer by every turn of the page) made for an exhilarating read.
Obviously, with a book centered on Manson, music is peppered throughout the story. You’ll be able to create a great playlist from the songs mentioned. Again, helping to become immersed in the world of the two main Characters, Mercedes and Laney.

I’ve loved my time with this book and everything I got from it. Hopefully, if you follow my recommendations above you’ll have the same perceptual and aural treat I had.
If you want a book thats gonna reel you in, break your heart and make you ready to jump in the pages in defense of the most heart breaking character.... this is your book! Artfully and beautifully written with drowning you. He brings you to the peak so you can see for yourself and it is absolutely lovely. Had a fantastic amount of spooky, its an emotional rollercoaster and you'll feel like you're there.
Keeps you on the edge of a cliff from beginning to end. The ghost of Charlie Manson is real all through this book. Don’t forget the soundtrack for this story and in my other books. Listen—I only gave myself 5 stars because I worked my ass off for 4 years on this book and I think I deserve it, and I hope after you read it, you’ll feel the same way
