After the mysterious disappearance of her aunt, Lady Lucy has money, lands and an Idex someone would kill for. Hidden behind elaborate parties and travel, Lucy is stuck under her uncle’s control.
In a bid for her freedom, a delightful prank lands her in deeper trouble. Struggling to breathe, she finds help from a mysterious man who kindles hope that she might not be as alone as she thought.
Can she unravel the darkness and bring worlds together, or will she forever be alone with the stars?
Alone with the Stars follows Lucy, a high class lady we have come across in both books 1 and 2. She has previously brought a light hearted air, and kindness to the Star Stitch Chronicles, and I'm so glad she got her own novel!
Lucy feels trapped in the expectations placed on her by her uncle, and society in general. With a looming arranged marriage she has no interest in, Lucy strains against the forces that push her to be someone she isn't.
I feel like this book is so full of swoony moments between Lucy and love mysterious love interest. I love the moments we get to see Lucy be kind, fun, ferocious, protective, and especially rebellious. So many parts made me laugh out loud.
There are definitely some dark themes in the background, but Lucy's motives and goals, and her attitude throughout keep this a light hearted, sweet, pretty sci-fi. No spice, just sweet kisses, and a just-right-amount of cupcake throwing.
