I thought having cancer at 18 was the worst thing I’d have to deal with. Then I meet Preston and Easton Scott. The cruel but devilishly handsome twins hate me from the first moment they see me, and their dislike only grows as time passes.
While I try to juggle school, treatments, and taking care of my grandma, the twins and their friends find new ways to make my life a living hell.
At least they don’t know I’m sick, because I’d rather be bullied than pitied.
Question is. How much more can I take before I break into a million pieces?

This was my favourite of the series so far. Despite what Emma is going through she was so courageous and sassy at times. I laughed out loud at one point when she was dealing with the twins😆.

And these boys were perfect for her 🥰. They grew alot in this book.

This was such an amazing and good read. From the start I was all in and my emotions kept changing all throughout the read. I couldn’t get enough of the men and Emma. She was so strong and stubborn and the men were amazing once they knew the truth I enjoyed all the spice, family elements, healing and much more.

This was a great book. In fact it kind of reminded me of a darker version of a walk to remember, a movie I have seen. This one had a much better ending though.

“Toxic Hope” is the fourth book in the “Wicked Falls Elite Series.” Emma’s first day of college is hard but she takes it in her stride. Life is not easy for her, she lost both her parents in a car accident and now, only has her grandmother. On top of all this, she is going to school and dealing with her medical treatment. The last thing she needs is these two boys going all macho and trying to intimidate her. No one knows she is sick, just the way she wants it. Emma does not want sympathy or to be treated like a charity case.

Gradually the dynamics of the relationship between Emma and the twins, Preston and Easton Scott starts to change and they begins to have feelings for Emma. Preston and Easton become very protective of her, especially when they find out about her health problems. Emma slowly lets her guard down and starts to trust the twins. As they grow together, their relationship strengthens and they begin to heal other from the inside out. Will they be her knights in shining armour and save her? Will they save each other?

“I’m proud of her for keeping her voice strong, even though we all know she is feeling pretty vulnerable right now. She knows we’re not leaving, and that scares her. Not because she is scared of us, she is scared of us finding out the truth, whatever she is hiding.”

At times you will laugh, you will cry, you will even get frustrated, but over all, you have your fingers crossed that everything will work out for them. They compliment each in some many ways - faults and all. There story of love, hate and redemption will keep you hooked! It has fun, laughs, intrigue and physical attraction. I thoroughly enjoyed this story that goes from hate to love ♥️ From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊

Emma is not only juggling the weight of school, caring for her grandma and going through her cancer treatments, but she's having to survive being bullied by the Scott twins. But they don't know about her illness as she doesn't want people looking at her differently and pitying her.

When she witnesses someone being beaten up, she tries to do the right thing, but the guys (Preston & Easton) are not happy about her decisions. They try to explain why they did that, and that she can't report them, but she isn't interested, so they start to bully her. Even though they start to make her life harder, she still stands tall.

The guys couldn't figure out why they were so drawn to her, and they wanted no one but her. They ended up being sweet and took care of her. She had a huge wall up and seemed to always be in protective mode for herself. She doesn't want people to pity her for her situation, so she keeps it a secret. She was strong, stubborn and determined to deal with everything on her own.

Toxic Hope, an all-new MFM story by the incredible C. Hallman. and of course, it' a dark, unhinged bully romance.
Book 4 in the series, we finally get Preston and Easton's story.

Twin brothers who don't mind sharing, they are also fiercely protective of those they care about, especially their younger sister.

While trying to protect her honour and aid in the revenge she deserves, Emma, witnesses the incident and immediately decides that they are terrible people. Without knowing the whole story, she judges them for what she perceived to have happened and gets them into a lot of trouble.
Emma has secrets of her own, but believes hers are justifiable, where as Easton and Preston should be held accountable for theirs.

Preston and Easton want to clear the air with Emma, but she makes it impossible. They are so angry with her, they take it upon themselves to ensure her day to day is full or torment and bullying.

Emma is unphased by their taunts until one day, their hate turns into lust and in their pursuit to expose her secrets, she gives into their demands and their desires. But once her secret is out and she is forced to face her reality. Preston and Easton may come off as uncaring, spoiled rich boys who have it all, but at their core, they are good and care deeply about those they love.

Preston and Easton want to make Emma their girlfriend, give her everything she could ever imagine, and most of all, give her the love and care she deserves. But she is scared and is worried that she will only hurt them.

Written in multiple POV's (the three MCs), their narratives gives the reader such an intimate look at their inner workings. This may be the most vulnerable books in the series as it deals with the character's very scary reality of possible loss and grief. C. Hallman delivers us characters who we can't help but love in the end. Even when they do awful and despicable things, you can't help but soften whenw e are given a glimpse of their soft bellies.

I was givena. free ARC of this book, and this review is only my opinion

This book completely wrecked me in the best way. Toxic Hope is raw, intense, and full of emotion that clings to you long after the last page. It’s the kind of story that hurts and heals at the same time. If you’re drawn to characters who love too hard, break too easily, and fight like hell to survive, this one will hit home.

From the beginning, I could feel the weight on Cam. Her pain, her strength, and the way she keeps going even when it feels like everything is crashing down around her. She’s not perfect, and that’s exactly what makes her so real. And Enzo? The definition of complicated. Their relationship is messy, passionate, and sometimes destructive, but the way it’s written feels so painfully honest. You’re not just watching two people fall for each other, you’re watching them unravel and try to piece themselves back together.

The writing is emotional and addictive. The tension is high, the pacing keeps you locked in, and the author doesn’t hold back on the hard stuff. But through all the darkness, there’s a flicker of hope. It’s about survival, second chances, and learning to believe you’re worthy of love even when you’ve been shattered.

If you’re into emotionally heavy romance with characters who bleed on the page, Toxic Hope is going to absolutely devour you. I’m still thinking about it. Still feeling it. Still not over it.

Corrupt Boys

Emma moving to a new town starting at yet another university was a matter of life and death it's the only town with the best medical treatment for her leukemia but when she witnessed the beating of a boy bye two very twisted boys she thinks that's it she reported what she saw but she never expected to see them again too bad she didn't realize those popular rich boys attend the same school as her. Preston and Easton are furious the stuck up girl who saw them dosen't even know why they did it and when they see her again and try to explain she doesn't want to here it so they decide to make her life miserable too bad there a little to late she's already suffered too much for there bullying to make any difference. But what happens when they find out her secret she doesn't care she doesn't need there pity or there help to bad she's become the only thing they want now there twins and they want the same thing Emma. I haven't read the other books in this series yet but I plan too this bully romance was a little different the mane female MC had a health scare and the guys who do some awful stuff to her really redeem themselves and by the end of the book you can see the change I would like two have seen the sisters ex face charges but maybe that's settled in another book. I am reviewing this book threw Kindle Unlimited and this is my honest review.

Toxic Hope is the fourth book in the Wicked Falls Elite series. This is Preston and Easton Scott & Emma’s story. Yes, Preston and Easton are twins, and this is a MFM Bully story.

Emma is sick and she doesn’t want anyone to know. Especially the twins. Since she tried to keep her illness a secret. The boys can't be fully blamed, or can they? This is a dark romance but not as dark as some of C. Hallman’s books can be.

Preston and Easton are pretty mean & brutal in the beginning. And what they have her do; no, I can’t say! But it was just wrong. And in the end, there is an HEA!!!

I enjoyed reading Toxic Love and can hardly wait for Quiet Rage. Which will be published this year some time, thankfully.

Emotional ride

Toxic Hope is the fourth book in the Wicked Falls Elite, and the first that I have read from this series. The story is an emotional roller-coaster and may not be for everyone, as there are definite triggers from some people. The story can be dark, heavy, intense, and make you want to throw the book across the room at times. But it is also sweet, loving, and makes you want to cry at times. I have a hard time with bullying so this story about Emma, Easton and Preston was hard to read at times and I will admit I had to put the book away a few times to go read something else. But I found myself continuing to come back to find out what happened next. Plus you fall in love with Emma as a character as she is only eighteen but going through so much and dealing with so much, and then you add on the twins and their friends. I really wanted to take both Easton and Preston "out-back of the woodshed" more than a few times to teach them a lesson. In the end I was able to tolerate them but never fully got into their turnaround/growth as it did not resonate with me fully. But that is me and I know others will love all three characters.

I'm very sad to say that I could not connect with this book. Normally I love this author I love to series I was excited for this book because I'm the mother of identical twin teenagers so the main characters being identical twins had me excited. But it just did not work for me. If you have to Blackmail or call somebody into performing a sexual act that is still sexual assault. I didn't feel any chemistry between Preston Easton and Emma. It went from straight up bullying and sexual assault to all the sudden a consensual relationship it made no sense. At first I loved Emma because she had a backbone and getting back down and then all the sudden she's rolling over and letting them do whatever they want to her. In my opinion the happily ever after getting really matter because the book itself didn't feel like a full thought out concept. And the twins there was no real definition between the two of them Giver identical in the way they talk everything. And as your mother identical twins I can tell you they have their own personalities.

Toxic Hope was an okay but one-time read type of story for me. We get Emma, Easton and Preston's story. The main characters in this story were okay but there wasn't anything about them that I loved. They are characters that are forgotten as soon as the story ends. However, I did enjoy Emma's grandmother. Emma is out one night and catches Easton and Preston doing something she doesn't agree with and reports them. That leads to some truth about why they did what they did but their actions have consequences and now so does Emma's. Easton and Preston threats eventually lead to lust and they decide to take what they want. That eventually leads to more and then it seems as if that's all the story becomes about. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy steamy scenes but I also love when the main characters have a connection and I didn't get that in this story. There was a happy ending for the main characters, especially for Emma after what she was dealing with but this story didn't leave me looking forward to reading more about different couples.

This book broke me and build me back up all in one. I have cried with a few books in the past but I didn’t think I could stop near the end of it but as I started this book broke me and build me back up all in one because by the end I couldn’t get the big smile from my face. This was a bully to lover romance and it really did life up to that trope. And it showed how people can be very narrow minded and just see what they want to see instead of really look at people around them. How people put on masks and step in certain roles just to deflect from what is going on in their private lives. That is what I really loved in this book showing us what could be going on and seeing how you can handle things either the wrong or the right way. It felt a bit as a slow burn at first but when the ‘gloves’ came off it was off the charts. This MFM twin MMC brother and feisty strong FMC really are each other’s perfect fit. Please go read this one it will really not disappoint, but warning keep tissues close!

I absolutely love this series and have been waiting to see who was going to turn the twins heads around. Easton and Preston are twins and their father is the hospital chief and cares about image. Emma has treatments at the hospital for her leukemia and after one of her sessions, she witnesses Easton and Preston assaulting someone. She ends up going to get security even though they told her to mind her own business. When their father hears about it, let’s say he is not happy one bit. There are some deals made and the boys are doing volunteer work at the hospital for the foreseeable future. After everything goes down they find out that Emma is new to school and they have plans now. What starts out as revenge for getting the boys into trouble turns into more. They learn more about Emma and she learns more about them. This was a really good read and it took me on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Letter was a lot of different emotions I had while reading this book. Don’t pass this book up. Actually, start with the first book in the series.

If you get emotionally attached to characters easily, make sure to have tissues handy. This is a darker romance, similar to A Walk to Remember, popular back in the early 00’s. There are definitely some trigger warnings so make sure to check those out.
I loved that Emma, our FMC, was very strong and stubborn. It made for some entertaining scenes between her and the twins. The twins were the typical dark bad boy type, expected in this type of novel.
The storyline runs smoothly and the conflicts throughout are well written and paced well. There is some spice so definitely be aware of that. I would said this is on the lighter side of dark romances and would be a good wet your feet novel to see if it’s your style. C. Hallman is always a good writer for darker romances, so I look forward to when new novels are published!.

Emma has had to grow up fast after losing her parents, then her grandfather. It is just her nan left to take care of her. As if life couldn't get any worse Emma finds out she has Leukemia. Starting a new school Emma just wants to be treated like normal and not be pitied. She leaves the hospital one night after treatment and finds herself seeing two boys beating up someone. Emma goes to confront these bullies and finds that this is the beginning of a hate relationship with Easton and Preston. She just wants to be left alone in school but Preston and Easton have other ideas. The twins feel threatened by Emma as she is now a witness to their assault and will do what it takes to make her understand the reasons why they did what they did. Emma is no pushover and is stubborn to what she believes in. I loved how the relationship develops into more with all three characters and that Emma finally finds happiness.

When Emma sees something done by the twins Easton and Preston, she makes up her mind that they are bad people and shouldn’t get away with all they do. When they try to talk about it with her she won’t listen to why they did it. So the most likely thing to do next is to start bullying her, right?!? Little did the realize this is going to make them want her so much more!!! They will need to be with her!!!

The twin do not know that she is battling her own medical demons while taking care of her gma and keeping up with school. Going through all she has she has built up walls that seem to be impenetrable. The twins Do Not Give Up!!! While working towards the HEA be ready to cry, beg and then smile. Stick through the hard parts cause this story is beautiful. Painful and sinful

This is the first book in the series I've read, and I had a hard time connecting with the main characters as a throuple. I definitely felt for Emma and everthing she had suffered through in her young life. Preston and Easton, were entitled twins who Emma witnessed doing something where they could so easily get caught. She did the right thing, they "suffered" a minor punishment, but her reporting also put Emma in their crosshairs for revenge. They bullied her every chance they got, and I loved that she stood up to them...until she didn't. Up until this point, I got the impression she wanted nothing to do with the twins so it didn't seem to make sense as to why she gave in. The rest of the story became fairly predictable, but I was never really invested. Characterization of the main players, including the Scott family, was fairly non-existent. Loved Grandma Lois though.

Toxic Hope, book four in the Wicked Falls Elite series follows twin brothers Preston and Easton Scott, and Emma. Emma has been diagnosed with leukemia, and as well as going to school, she is undergoing cancer treatments, not only that but now she has to deal with the cruel but handsome twins as well. Angry and annoyed with Emma, the twins take it upon themselves to make her days full of bullying, tormenting her any chance they get, and allowing the other students to torment her as well.. even going as far as to push things physically as well. In their pursuit to discover what she’s really hiding, the twins discover her secret, that she’s actually sick, and the trio are forced to face the reality of Emma’s situation. Will Emma finally give in and let them take care of her? Or will their past actions towards her keep her from letting them get any closer?

I loved it this was such a great read in the beginning it was rough I was so heartbroken for Emma after she got out of the hospital to having to deal with Easton and Preston, Brody she was only trying to do the right thing and she got bullied for it. As if she wasn’t going through enough what Easton and Preston did to her was so cruel. They made or tried to make up for it at the end though but I can’t help but to wonder if they never found out her secret would they still have treated her nicer the way they were going out of their way to make her smile and comfortable, happy. I love me a good why choose and this was a top tier why choose for me we got identical twin brothers 😉🥰 c.hallman did such an incredible job on this story it’s gut wrenching and beautiful suspenseful and some parts make you want to smack the boys but then kiss them 😂🥰 it’s a complete 5⭐️ read for me!!

Having read Hallman before reading this book I am well aware that she writes books to make you uncomfortable. This was no different. Emma has cancer at 18, with a series of unfortunate events through her life. She doesn’t want to be a burden to anyone so when the twins, Preston and Easton show her compassion she thinks it’s charity not heartfelt. The story of the three starts intense and ends sweet. However, the road along the way has potholes created by the twins as revenge for Emma wanting to do things right. The twins awakening to the error of their ways and realization that Emma is their all makes them notice how much they’ve missed. While at times sad, it’s worth the read and is 4th in the series.

This book is dark, twisted, and full of angst. Nobody writes a bully romance like C.Hallman! She is the queen of bullies.

This series is amazing, if you didn’t read the previous books you are missing out.

Preston & Easton are not the easiest twins, When they were punished for something Emma witnessed, they made sure she felt their wrath. Throughout the story, you will understand more and more of why they behaved like this.

Emma is a fighter, she is already going through so much when the twins disrupt he peace.

Preston, Easton & Emma’s story is bumpy, from hate to lust and then love. They truly were meant to be. Seeing the twins taking care of her, seeing the other side of them was beautiful.

If you love dark, bully, and MFM, this is a great addition to your TBR!

Their Pearl

While Toxic Hope is a MFM dark bully romance and yes they were demanding and cruel at times I didn't find it as nearly dark as I was expecting like some other books from this author.
Emma stumbles upon two guys beating up another and she confronts them and calls security. This puts her in the cross hairs of twins Preston and Easton Scott. Now they're out to make her regret ever interfering. They are so focused on punishing and tormenting her that they don't see what right in front of them. They soon realize there's more going on with her than they understood but she'll guard that secret no matter what the cost.

I received a free ARC from the author through Bookfunnel an I'm voluntarily leaving my review.

Two times the yum...

This dark bully romance was not at all what I expected it was way better.
I love it when the morally grey characters are just so good.
This was my first C. Hallman book and I'm hooked! I couldn't get enough and finished this book in a day. It was a fast-paced read but I didn't feel I missed out on any detail or plot.

Dark bully romance (college)
MFM (Twins)
Multiple POV

Emma (FMC) she's a do-gooder but she's not meek and helpless.

Twins Preston and Easton (MMCs) are obsessed, possessive, and morally grey.

The back and forth, and the tension between the characters were so good. I just loved watching their relationship unfold. This spice was spicing and the plot was good too.

Now I'm going to go back and read the rest of the series.

This hit me hard in all the best ways. Emma is a strong, resilient heroine dealing with cancer, college, and caring for her grandmother, all while hiding her illness. The emotional weight of her story is intense, especially when she crosses paths with Preston and Easton, the cruel twins who make it their mission to torment her after a painful misunderstanding. What starts as bullying slowly shifts into something deeper, more protective, and ultimately loving. The character development was raw and heartfelt, and the journey from pain to healing was powerful. It's dark, emotional, and full of mature themes, but the HEA made it worth every tear. A beautifully written, unforgettable addition to the series.

The Toxic Hope is another fantastic read by this author. It's a bit more emotional than the previous books but it's still just as intense at the same time.
Emma is a force to be reckoned with and she puts her bullies, Preston and Easton in their places pretty quick. Of course they don't give up, they're intent on making her life miserable at all costs. This story is full of surprises and it's one big surprise that makes all the difference the relationship between these three. The Toxic Hope is a great, why choose, bully romance that quickly became a one sitting sitting read for me. It's a tough book to put down once you start reading it!

Finally Preston and Easton! I've been looking forward to learning more about the twins as this series went on, and it's finally here! It was so interesting seeing these two fall for Emma without even realizing it. Our girl Emma had bad break after bad break, but I loved the way she never let it dim her spark or have her hesitating to put these boys in their places, we all know that they need it every so often. Their story will take you on a ride right along with them, having your heart drop sometimes just to put it back together in the end. I can't wait to see what we get from Kellan's story next!

Toxic Hope is the 4th book in The Wicked Falls Elite series and for me this was a more emotional read than the books before it.

Emma (FMC) has had a difficult life so far that have led up to her fighting Cancer on top of everything else she has to cope with. A chance unfortunate meeting with twin brothers - Preston and Easton led to them looking for payback in the form of bullying Emma. Or at least trying to because Emma gives as good as she gets and I loved that she didn't let them get the better of her. Mixed in with that though is how protective they turned out to be in the end.

A good read and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on more books in this series.
