**********Contains Spoilers***********
I’m new to Kendall Talbot’s work and I’m looking forward to reading more. Each book in this collection has been reviewed separately. Good collection of stories that I couldn’t put down.
Escape Mission - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good start to Alpha Tactical Ops Series. There were a few things I had a slight issue with though but they didn’t stop my enjoyment of this book. I thought that Nick aka Blade & Zena aka Firefly make an amazing team and I liked that she wasn’t afraid to stand her ground when she wanted to get her point across or tell Nick when he’s being an a*sehole. This book was a suspenseful ride that’s for sure. I loved meeting the rest of Nick’s special ops team and I’m looking forward to learning more about them as the series continues.
Nick is living with so much guilt from their last mission that went FUBAR, Nick not only lost one of his best friend’s Kai but another of their team members Cole aka Cobra recently got his leg amputated below the knee due to it being f*cked up from said mission. Nick was their leader so took on the blame for following the orders that they were given. The team has pretty much splintered since they came home but the situation Brooke & Zena stumbled across brings the team back together and gives them a new lease on life, as they all been pretty lost since coming home.
Hostile Mission - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good addition to Alpha Tactical Ops Series. I never would’ve guessed that the Billie that we were first introduced to would be so strong while in danger, yes she had her moments of self doubt and complete shutdown but who the hell wouldn’t with everything she’d been through and witnessed. I also think that her and Levi make a great team but this is definitely slow burn but worth the wait.
When Alpha Tactical Ops team lands in Antarctica they never expected the danger they’d walk into but they of course came prepared. All I can say is that Zena’s father Aaron was an a*sehole through and through but he did have his moments of goodness but they were few and far between. With each mission the team goes on they seem to link to what happened during their final mission with the army while on tour in Kyrgyzstan. It’s up to the team to work out how they’re and why they’re linked and how to stop all the players for good.
Rescue Mission - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to Alpha Tactical Ops Series. This book was non stop action and I was completely hooked from page one. I absolutely adored the banter between Maya & Neon and think they make an amazing team, even if Neon isn’t the best at following Maya’s instructions but that’s mainly because he thought that she was in danger that she couldn’t get out of, even knowing what a bad arse she is. It was refreshing that Neon found Maya’s competence sexy and felt safe with her from pretty much the get go. My heart hurt for everything Neon has been through and a lot of people would think that his life is awesome and that he’s had no hardships all because of the wealth he was born into.
Whereas it’s actually the complete opposite, he’s basically been a target his whole life and doesn’t know who he can trust because they may turn on him at any moment. It shows what a good person he is that he wanted to give himself up when the hostages were being taken out and that he’s filled with so much guilt for others getting hurt and feels like he’s to blame but Maya gets through to him that it’s not his fault and the only people at fault are the men who took the island hostage all in order to try and abduct Neon. I also really enjoyed learning more about Maya and what actually happened to her older sister Lily, which was completely heartbreaking and I don’t fault her reason for becoming one of the most skilled snipers. I loved seeing Maya & Neon slowly open up to each other about their pasts, even if it was extremely hard for both of them.
Stealth Mission - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to Alpha Tactical Ops Series. The danger during this book seemed to be never ending during this book. When Alpha Tactical Ops get a last minute call for a protection detail of the Prime Minister, his wife, his daughter and the Deputy Prime Minister they had no idea what a complete and utter cluster f*ck it would turn into but with Alpha Tactical Ops on the case they stop at nothing to not only keep their clients safe but work out who’s responsible for the attempted hit on the Prime Minister and his family and why.
Viper is in charge of protecting Harper but it’s not especially when they escape one danger to be thrown into another. I’m glad we finally get to learn why Viper is so angry and closed off and I really enjoyed getting to see his slightly softer side where Harper is concerned. What happened to Harper and her friends 8 years ago was horrible and wouldn’t have happened if they hadn’t done what they did but all of them were totally to blame since they all made reckless decisions that night, even if Harper was the one driving. I loved seeing Harper’s true self emerge as the book progressed, instead of who her mother forced her to be.
Shadow Mission -⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to Alpha Tactical Ops Series. I never would’ve guessed what happened during Cole’s aka Cobra’s past it was heartbreaking and Yasmin has also been through some sh*t so they can understand what the other has lost. I thought Cobra & Yasmin make a great team. The Alpha Tactical Ops team are one step closer to finding the f*ckers who sabotaged their mission in Kyrgyzstan, where their team mate Kai lost his life and Cobra’s leg was messed up so it had to eventually get amputated.
Please note that Cobra is addicted to china white since his pain pills were stopped by his doctor 6 months after his amputation, so he buys it from the dark web but it isn’t a huge portion of his story but still important as it emulates real life since a lot of people become addicted to pain meds after accidents and then their prescription is stopped and their body needs more and more to function. I’m glad that he eventually told Yasmin about his addiction and with her and Ghost aka Maya’s help he gets clean. I’ve got my fingers crossed that Yasmin brother Jayden will eventually wake up from his coma.
Rogue Mission - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ - I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good conclusion to Alpha Tactical Ops Series, as well as a good segue into the new spin-off Wolf Security Series. I’m so glad that Aria aka Hawk & Xander aka Razor got their second chance at their happily ever after. Wow, this book was non-stop action. The team all finally get back together to head back to Kyrgyzstan to hunt a portion of the missing German gold from WWII, that was put on a truck.
It’s the first time we get to meet the team’s two absentee team members, Razor and Cooper aka Jet and it’s also the first time that Aria & Xander have been face to face since Aria dumped him when they got back state side. She still loves Xander but due to her mum’s abandonment she doesn’t believe in love and that her and Xander are too different since she’s a complete city chic & he’s total country. The team never knew that they were in relationship since they kept in on the down low.
There’s of course tension between the two but they still make an amazing team. The way their relationship progressed felt believable for their second chance at happiness. The team finally get the answers of who was f*cking with them from their last mission in Kyrgyzstan that went completely FUBAR, where Kai lost his life and Cobra eventually got his leg amputated due to damaged he sustained during that botched mission. The hunt for the missing gold is just beginning and continues into the this series spin-off, Wolf Security Series.
I’m looking forward to reading Risky Attraction next, as well as more books from Kendall Talbot in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
