7 Deadly Sins #5

Pride: The Summer of Sin

Rate this book
Pride

Everyone's child is the apple of their eye. But sometimes the apple is... rotten. And perhaps when that apple deserves to be top of the class, some of the other apples need to be culled. Throw out the other apples. Make way for the apple of said parent's eye.

Brutally. And violently.

Pride contains scenes of violence towards children unsuitable for some. Consider this a trigger warning for everything.

Envy. Gluttony. Greed. Lust. Pride. Sloth. Wrath.

The seven deadly sins, played out full of gore and sex and each featuring kick-ass female leads.

Gore driven.
Sex laden.
Lady-balls to the wall.

These are the 7 deadly sins.

a mother will do whatever she can to help her child, but just how far is this mother willing to go? one thing's for sure once she starts there's no going back!

brilliant short read, all the classic hallmarks of ash ericmore's brilliantly twisted imagination, you will NOT be disappointed!!!

#5 in the series.

Mother would do anything to help her son to climb the ladder in education.
But how far was she willing to go? Surely she wouldn’t harm anyone, would she?

Read in 40 minutes, 1 sitting. Brilliant as always.

Great series

I am loving these short stories. They're are so cleverly written. Each one is as messed up and dark and twisted as the last!!

This was highly entertaining, for sure. It wasn't as bloody as the other books from this series, but it didn't need to be. The prideful mother's detached, calculating, emotionless, and efficient way of executing *ahem* certain things is the scary part for me. With a mom like that, her two kids will be untouchable. Girl's got a hobby and she's pretty damn good at it!

My favorite thing about Ash's stories is that they never fail to keep my imagination going beyond their last sentence.

In this story, we follow a mother, who has two boys, and is separated from their father. She is doing the best she can for her kids, all on her own, rarely asking for help from their father, who is too busy sleeping with multiple women, and living his own life. One day, her oldest is frustrated with his homework, and she asks him what's going on. Her son responds by informing her that he is struggling with Math, and that he needs to end up in the top ten percentile, in order for him to be put forward to choose work experience. He, also, mentions that there are only 3 kids ahead of him. Thinking hard about how she can possibly help her son end up where he needs to be, she decides that there is absolutely nothing she won't do for him to make it happen, including but not limited to, possibly eliminating the competition. How far will she really go for her kids? This was a wild story! Full of gore, blood, and creative death scenes, this was very reminiscent of a dark comedy, about a mom who really loves her kids, and has no qualms about being violent, while still having the typical suburban mom's inner monologues, and thoughts. I highly recommend this!

You’ve got to be proud of your children, right? It’s unfair if they are expected to achieve something purely on merit! Mummy has got your back.

I am loving this series of short reads, and this one is my favourite so far. Ericmore’s dark humour seeps through the gruesome pages. But how has reading a book given me an ear worm?! I’m going to be hearing that all day, thanks 🤷‍♀️

Our main lead is a mother. When she is informed her son isn’t in the top 10% of class to be able to choose his next work experience, she takes matters into her own hands. After speaking to the teacher and no luck she does the unthinkable.

I loved this one from start to finish. By far my favourite of the sins! Relatable as it shows how far mothers will go for their children albeit this was more extreme. Incredibly dark as usual from Ash yet read it in one as had to know what was happening next! Would love this one to be continued

Meh

This one didn't do it for me. It felt all over the place and it wasn't as gruesome as the other stories in this series. It was ok at best.

Really enjoyed reading this and the mom that would do anything to help his son achieve what he wants. It's not as gory as the others in series, but still had good moments.

2,5 stars rounded up.

You know how boy moms are next level crazy? Well, here we have another one, except she takes it up a notch.

This wasn't the one for me. Maybe if it had been more gorey and/or detailed, it would've intrigued me more. BUT there's always the way Ericmore writes, which never fails to keep me entertained.
